[Q] Transferring files...where do they go? - Nexus 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

When I transfer pdf files from my Macbook to my Google Nexus 7 I can't seem to find them on my Nexus. Where do they save to?

How/what did you use to transfer?

Play Music Location

Where is my offline music? I can't find it anywhere, looked in data, nothing.
Anyone know?

All mine (8gb) disappeared off of my Galaxy Nexus.... but when I am online... it magically appears in my Google Cloud. I guess Google uploads it and deletes the local file.
I bet my carrier was thrilled. It probably does this over wifi though. I don't know if this is what happens but probably is. Connect up to wifi and see if all your songs populate back.

/sdcard/Android/data/com.Google.android.music/cache

Google magazines

Where are the mags stored ? Anyway if they are accessible can you take the photos out ?

You can download the content and store it locally. While in the viewer you have the choice to see the magazine as it was printed or in a text-only version. You can switch back and forth easily while reading.
I have already downloaded 3 mags offline ,my question was where are they stored ? The google mag folder only has one file

They are probably downloaded to a folder within the app and in a format that is unreadable by any other app. They could also be hidden to prevent you from sharing them with others.
When I want a picture from a magazine, I simply go into the magazine & then screen shot it. Easy peasy.
One thing I have noticed they are huge files, I don't think you can access them anywhere within the tablet

The screen capture works fine if not a little fiderly

Screen shot is probably your only option as you are dealing with copyrighted content that the publisher likely wants to prevent people from using as they please.
BTW, if that's you in your avatar you are smoking hot. Just sayin'.

Share files

Hi,
Does anyone know a good application for sharing files between nexus 4 and nexus 10, without using cloud services? Some app that use wifi direct or similar

I am looking for one..NFC is also another option but still haven't tried.
ES File Explorer has built-in ftp support which works very nicely when the devices are on the same wifi network.

I had a similar question before as I was very much used to using WiFi direct between my earlier Samsung devices. Found the answer in 'fast file transfer', it's amazing, uses the same principles as WiFi direct. I suggest you try it, you wouldn't be disappointed. Search for it on the play store.
Hit thanks if this helped

[Q] Use N7 as a WiFi adapter ?

So I just moved in to a new place and so far I can't find my WiFi adapter for my PC computer.
To make things more of a pain, the router is to far for a cord..
So the question is, how can I use my Nexus 7 as a WiFi adopter for my computer? Can it even be done?
