WELCOME TO SLIM SERIES ROM'S
SLIM ? nah...SLIMMER
SLIM SERIES ROM's for Ace are inspired by the famous SLIM-ROM's by tchaari for all the High-end phones like, Nexus, S3 etc.
So I decided to emulate the ROM's for our Ace too.
Some big plus points or Observations according to me, from these highly-compressed and lite ROM's are =
1. Our phone has very less RAM to run ICS or JB in fully optimised manner. So these ROM's slightly fulfil that requirement. As the apps in these ROM's occupy very less RAM of around, 20 to 30 MB only !
2. Due to less RAM consumption, phone tends to be more responsive, smooth and faster !
3. Overall performance increases roughly around, 5 times !
4. If you are a benchmark believer, then AnTuTu scores were also slightly higher compared to the original ROM's
5. These lite ROM's along with any script like Adrenaline Engine, can boost your performance slightly higher.
6. These ROM's can be used as a daily driver, 100% !
7. Slim ROM's have slightly higher battery backup compared to the original ROM's. For me atleast, i.e; with minimal usage of phone.
NOTE - I use my phone only for phone calls and listening to music [A lot ! ]
8. So use these ROM's and decide what is best for you.

10. I also wish to notify that, in future along with removal of bloatware, there might be significant changes in kernel specifically compiled for these minimal ROM's. I am still learning about Android so no promises, as this is all a pure-hobby, like everyone else's. . Also, i haven't touched framework a bit.. i altered only the system, permissions and kernel so that they are stable coz they are so small size..

13. I have removed bloatware in to the maximum extent possible, but still if you feel there exists such an app which is useless, inform me, I will remove it
14. Finally, I ensure there was no warez used to create these ROM's
15. On a side note I removed all the boot-animations to conserve space. ICS & JB have their own in-built boot-splash. While in CM7 there is no such facility, the screen will be blank, so don't worry you did not brick your phone

important note to gain root access
i am now using simplesu, which means u need to edit the dsc.su_list list which is found in system/etc folder of every slim rom.
You need to add the activity name in that list manually, for example for titanium backup the activity name is = com.kermidas.titanium.backup or something...

just search for the app u r using which requires root permissions, and paste it in dcsu_list using a good editor like notepad++
if u dont do this. U will not be able to get root permissions for that app

yes slim cm7 is most stable becoz its GB based..and our phones mini and ace are best performers in cm7... also slim_cm9 is stable

Will try the CM7.2 slim this weekend and get back to you. Are there any known bugs already in any of the roms? I might try the CM9 & 10 as well, but I've stayed away from those in general because they still have several bugs (like the video camera in CM9, and I use my video camera lol).
Also, whose rom is the 7.2 slim based on? Official nightlies? Vo-1? Please be based on vo-1's rom.

Init.d support?
I noticed in the rom.zip for CM7.2 there is no init.d folder in system/etc. Does this kernel support inid.t? I assume it does, because you said that we can apply Adrenaline Engine if we want, but I wanted to double-check. Which kernel is this running? I use int2ext+, so init.d support is important. Can I just add the init.d folder to the rom.zip and add my int2ext+, or should I flash the script and let it make the init.d folder automatically?
It is missing 2 CORE Apps, it has no File Manager & T9 keyboard.

i removed them coz u can install them in sd-card or ext partition and not in system... wats the point of this whole rom if u do dat XD lol

Maybe this might help clearly.Just Terramino(rom complier)claims that 2.3 is like a poison ivy covers your device very tight;so repeat the loading 2.2 action 3 times for better clean.
Downgrade from 2.3.5 back to 2.2.2
1) Download U8800 V100R001C00B138SP04 (Overseas General) Android 2.2.2
2) Extract the "dload" folder and copy it (along with its contents) to the ROOT of the SD Card.
3) Turn on your U8800 while holding [VOL-] and [VOL+] and the Android 2.2.2 install should start.
4) Once finished you should be back to 2.2.2.
5) If you phone does not boot correctly power on phone while holding [VOL+] to boot into recovery and Reset to factory defaults.
6) Delete the "dload" folder from the SD Card.

important!
Even if you don't wipe data/factory reset,the rom will automatically delete all user data by itself,so backup all your applications,sms,call logs...etc. if necessary
INSTALLING:
- Wipe data/factory reset
- Wipe Cache partition
- Advanced -> Wipe Dalvik Cache
- Mounts and Storage -> "mount /system"
- Mounts and Storage -> "format /system"
Finally install zip from sdcard -> select ROM file
After installed, go to Spare Parts and run it. Then choose Window animations and Transition animations options to Fast. In this way, the desktop will have increased fluency.

Dalvik Cache cleaned and re-adjusted during installation. For this reason, the phone still will be slow during the initial boot. Shut down and restart the phone after first opening. Now you see the opening of the phone quickly, around 30-38 seconds.

it's name is MIUI based Performans Rom X English - .35 Kernel and installing on stock ROM 2.3.5
important specs:
Extreme touch sensitivity is reduced due to factory 2.3.5 software.
.35 Kernel which is the biggest problem was corrected incoming and outgoing speech sounds.
Only when listening to music, the highest volume level is below normal. This problem will be corrected in future versions.
but elite ROM 9.6 newest because TerraMino waiting franco's .35 kernel and he will going to develope Performans Rom X new kernel realesed

Be sure to backup your IMEI. Use an external SD card during all transactions below. B163 dload folder on an external SD card.
B163 Install the first time. Installation ends and the phone is opened by turning off and on again for the second time so as to B163-ROM install.
After installing the second time, wait for the phone opening. Remove the SD card and the screen went pink then off to install the CWM 5.0.2.3
Open phone by CWM and do all the wipe process.
Then re-insert the SD card and install the B163 for the third time.
The phone opens to shotdown and re-install in the pink screen the CWM 5.0.2.3
These steps are the traces left by the stock 2.3.5's completely clean.
If you do not install 3 times B163, you may experience various problems.

Quick thoughts and facts about the .35 kernel version (see post #11)
- Custom theme as stock, blends a little blue and ICS-esque stuff into the default theme, and I love it, looks really fresh
- ICS icons too, not a big fan of them, luckily there's always the Vexillum Project icons to use. The font is awesome.
- It's based on MIUI 2.1.13 and it uses ret4rt's 2.6.35.7 kernel dated January 13th
- English is default language, Traditional and Simplified Chinese are the other choices
- Speaker still has the buggy and crackling sound while playing music
- Can't say if it's faster than ret4rt's MIUI, needs a few days of testing at least

FYI : Unofficial OC kernels work great with our rom, but as it's base is mainly Official CM7 the un-official kernel will break Bluetooth & torch app (official)... I do not have need of those apps so I use "TheAceKernel" Beta4 by @Skynet_28... It makes this rom run at something close to light speed, for real peeps... AFAIK there is no OC kernel fully compatible with Official CM7 yet. If there is then please let me know ok...

as an aside, not sure i understand the point in putting trial versions of software in a rom, ie. keyboard, music player and ram manager pro (?), doesnt serve any purpose in keeping it "lite", means people either just have to uninstall stuff or buy it.

BTW, A.I Type Keyboard is free (google Play) & the only trial Is N7 Music Player... Ram manager pro, I forgot to switch to free version... Taking care of it as we speak...

I helped with alpha and beta testing on the ROM and believe me guys, it is worth a try, if you check on our FB page you would see some of the early benchmarks, also I uploaded a video of the Alpha1 version and it was smooth as silk.

UPDATE:
Guys just a heads up...I noticed that Reaper did not mention the following:
1. At first boot enter the "SpeedUp" app and select "Fastest Speed" then choose exit.
2. Open up RAM Manger and select Balanced - More Free memory
And you are good to go. You don't need to do this after reboots, the settings are saved

No doubt one of the fastest roms. 2D performance is great.
Though, you should really NOT use superSU. At boot it's a *****, slowing the phone to beyond a simple lag.
Also, bounce animation is jerky, if you're wanting a custom animation I'd suggest fly in or blur.

Hi @consegregate... your comments are really appreciated... I wondered about SuperSU against SuperUser & I have also noticed that at boot phone will only complete initialization after SuperSU has asked for its permissions & not before, which can as you pointed out, take an age...
I have got a new project "The Minimalist" rom due for release soon (just tidying things up a bit)... This has been a solo project as @VRD1 now has full time employment (no time for deving)... I have tried to implement everything I have learned into this project & performance tests show my next rom to be the fastest yet with great multi-tasking capabilities...
Bounce animations have been ditched in favor of "Rudolph" which is very smooth in my rom...
Stay tuned... RC1 due for release soon...

I've had MIUI on my last two devices over the last 3 years (HTC Desire and SGS2) and absolutely loved it....
But, I'm not sure about getting it on the note 2. I don't think I could live without the pen functionality and touchwiz has some nice little touches that I do like (smartstay, for example, is much more useful than I thought). Also not sure I could live without the camera software (although MIUI may keep this in).
For my previous two devices, MIUI was a huge upgrade in terms of UI and functionality, but with the note 2, I think it mightn't give me that much when compared to stock.

Me too, that's why I use the official MIUI Beta (leak) on my N7000, because MIUI decided to use Samsung base and not CyanogenMod anymore. TouchWiz Framework is included and S-Pen features completely working. Even something like "show little pointer 1cm above screen when using s-pen" is possible on the N7000 MIUI, which even the original N7000 doesn't have.
MIUI does the same for the N7100 release: Samsung base, TouchWiz integrated, SPen fully supported.

MIUI included the Samsung camera app in N7000 Beta, I guess the same happens on the N7100 release. You can still flash the Android 4.2 Camera besides that.

For all my devices it was a huge upgrade in terms of UI and non-geeky-crippeled-too-black-interface. And just out of the box integration of useful features like Call Recording, Blocking, Firewall, DnD Mode, Guest Mode, Bright design (for sunny days it's better than the AOSP black, and less ugly too), Themes, no tinkering with buggy stuff, only stable stuff integrated.
First thing I was hating when I used my N7100 was the ugly TouchWiz, the useless Apps installed, the old fashioned UI concept (create a folder with -> edit screen -> menu -> add folder)... The unofficial N7100 MIUI build from yure was a huge improvement for my N7100 after 1 Week... I would never go back to Samsung stock ROM.
So any news about the beta they are testing @ official MIUI? I mean did it have a lot of bugs/hickups?
I know it's forbidden to ask for ETA's but is there any chance the beta will leak out to the public like with the N7000?
My hands are itching to flash this goodness.

if you want to use a different kernel (which i dont recommend) use a sammy based one.
and I dont think the mod will work. you can still make a backup and try it and report back. probably a lot of users would be thankful for that

I only own the T700, which allows me to test the builds myself and to ensure the best experience for that model.
However, the T800 will probably get some love soon and I will post a test build in the near future, since it is easy to develop for wifi only models.
As for the T805, I think that variant runs with a Snapdragon chip, so it would be very unlikely to see my rom for you guys. But then again, I might be very kind one day and try to make a test build, stay tuned

My ROM is based on Official firmware, and although the stock kernel used has init.d enabled, it is still a very stock kernel, in no way modified. So your problem with said app is related to the developer behind this app not working properly on Stock Touchwiz 5.0.2; Blame Samsung, not me :angel:

Depending on the app, you could either pull the apk or perhaps someone might have it. Presuming the OP doesn't have an option on install (like aroma).

I must say, may be my opinion is in minority, any twz rom has no sense with this crazy tiny interface. It is way to small for me... I us now any aosp/ cm rom with 384 or 400 dpi and it fits perfectly for me.

I've decided to release an early Release Candidate build because there is one tiny issue with the fingerprint lock method, it says that "an error has occured with the fingerprint sensor' when you choose the option in Lock Screen.
It might be a small issue with the fingerprint apk after it has been deodexed because it works with odex files. Still trying to sort this issue out. But other than that, the whole ROM is working perfectly as expected, so I didn't want to keep you guys waiting
I'll upload a small update file once I fix the problem so that you guys can flash it on top of the Release Candidate ! Anyways heading to uni, should be uploaded when I get back

By 'non tiny', do you mean a bigger interface ? Yeah, I suppose I could work on that. Once I get a stable release, I was thinking about theme-ing the SystemUI and framework res anyways.

Yeah, I mean the font size across applications such as gmail, Facebook, but most importantly...Chrome!
Adjusting the system font size unfortunately doesn't help....the system menus just become too huge.
Anyway, it's not a huge deal.

cheers mate, installing now.
With dpi 380 or 400 (stock is 320) everything is set perfectly. Then just small font adjustments for system and/ or specific apps which have this option...
Strange... did all the recommendation before flashing ROM (tick system in mount, latest TWRP...) and stuck at Samsung Galaxy Tab S Logo (first phase). I've waited 15 mins and still bootlooping... what I did wrong?

Hmm, have you checked the md5 to make sure you got a good download of the ROM? Something like that happened with my Note 4..

Slim 11 of sept. first impressions: So easy to install, no problems, Installed with mini gapp , put the 3 zips in a row et voila ( rom ,gapp , supersu) First boot in less than 1 minute. ( before optimizing apps)
Nice to get an easy install after fighting so much with nougat ....
Youtube at 1440 = they are VERY clear and fluent but they occupy the same space on the screen as a 1080p video, not too sure what to think about this. ( not full screen , same as 1080p ) but then 1440 is not 2560x1600 pixels, so this would be normal I guess. Watching 4k movies while the apps are being restored, no hiccups at all. Video: Wonder of Nature( samsung demo ) play fullscreen and VERY clear.
It look like it will be my daily driver for now ! Sleek and fast. WIFI is super solid, no dropoff.
Slim 6 with Nova pro launcher is a keeper .... Stock browser is very fast. Make my tab s feel like a newer device.

There is no Clear all for recents, unless I haven't seen the options, which I'm still exploring .....

I flashed T700 over Slim6 August 8th build.
It's not booting unfortunately. It flashes white Samsung T700 logo (I guess it's bootloader), than goes black screen and nothing happens for 15 minutes. Sorry, I can't try adb logcat now, wife is occupying laptop. Not sure if adb could catch anything if it is not even reaching Slim6 logo.
I'm restoring your Slim6 Aug.08 build. I'll try tomorrow, or maybe somebody else will come up with findings.

I don't think so. I've ejected it and reinstalled and it automatically mount as Portable storage

after restoring all my apps (68) and 1 large game , I use only 4 gigs out of the 12, Still have 8 to go for internal storage. There are a few apps that you can use to put all the pictures , movies, media from games on the sd card

Did both clean and dirty flash, use nano gapp and no slim logo and didn't take a log cat went back to AOSP 6.0.1 schischu. I will love to try this, always been a fan of slim roms. Sorry couldn't help more.
This issue seems to only happen on sm t700, tab s 8.4.

I did a VERY clean install , factory reset + wiped everything ( again) except for the SD card. Installed micro gapp right after the rom and things went fine. Booted in no time, about 1 minutes before the app optimisations. System in etx4 and cache / data in f2fs.

There is no "clear all recents" in any options , right ? ( slim recent sor normal recents)
What are the changes between 2019 and 1424 ?
2019 is written 1839 in settings About tablet.
Works fine. Fast and stable. But not playing sounds whit earphone. The sounds is only whit speakers.
