[Q] Jellyblast OTA update order - Galaxy Y GT-S5360 and Duos 6102 Q&A, Help & Troubl

Hello, I've a small question in here:
When I've downloaded Jellyblast already has been releases 2 OTA updates, I just installed Jellyblast then downloaded OTA 2
Now I downloaded OTA 3, but I have OTA 1 installed? this update seems to be important:
OTA 1 (18th September 2012 || Version 3.0.1 ):
Lag fix, better pop ups and buttons, fixed black text on popups, stability fix..
Click to collapse
I didn't see any black text on popups but I already have OTA 1 because I installed OTA 2? should I install OTA 1 now? (Already installed 2 and 3)
so I've no idea if I got OTA 1 installed, what you say?
Thanks for reading.
Sorry for bad english :<

No. You don't need to install OTA 1. OTA 1's been further developed by avijit to OTA 2, and then later to OTA 3. So you don't need to install OTA 1 if you already have installed OTA 2 or OTA 3.

How do we update firmware once rooted?

Title says it all.. I read that once you root the hero you cannot receive firmware updates OTA. Is this true? If it is, then how can we update our devices?
I had a stock ROM rooted, and was able to receive the OTA update and it successfully applied.
So I have MoDaCo installed, can I install the update over it?
thank you for any help
Anyway to install with a stock rom, without using the built in OTA update tool?

Not from sprint, but you can load the newest FreshROM over it and be updated. However be aware that the rom breaks the link between media being played the and bt device.

I assume there should be a download of it somewhere, if not sprint, google, or HTC, then on some forum....

There're already several topics about this; why not search 1st instead of starting a new topic?

I rooted the phone and after the update I had to re-root. The doomlord root script worked perfectly the second time too.
upgrade failed
I've rooted by Galaxy note and the upgrade failed. I think the downloaded is ok, but it has booted into recovery mode. Has the upgrade file downloaded to somewhere, so that I can find it and upgrade it in recovery mode?

yes of course but once your phone is updated you will lose the root
Please do note that if you have performed some tweaks in /system, your OTA update may fail and cause problems. Oh, and make sure to make a nandroid, then flash the stock recovery and then perform the update. Can't go wrong when you got a nandroid.

The OTA update function is partially broken. Even when you are on the latest build, which you most likely are (the one dated 8 October), it still says you need to update and tries to download that same build you are already on. So ignore the OTA notifications

Moto G 1st Gen: Actually Got a Security Update

So this morning I received a notification about a new security update for 5.1 with patches up to march 2016.
Pretty impressive that Moto still pushed this out for a phone launched in 2013
so how can I get this on my rooted xt1033??

I think to get OTAs you need unmodified system partition.
My XT1033 is rooted and I still got the update notification, though I haven't updated yet.
Will it remove root access?

With Root-access file explorer, browse to /cache and the OTA zip should be obvious. Copy / move to /SDCARD. Do this after accepting download but prior to flashing it.

Yes, I'm on brazilian firmware.

It's only a security update, with the majority of changes being related to files in /system/lib. On the surface, Android will be no different at all.
please post for asia firmware
Here's the US version attached.
My system version is reported as 221.21.58.falcon_umts.AWSRetail.en.US, but when I try to install the Moto update from TeamWin, it tells me that the package expects .../falcon_umts:5.1/LPBS23 etc../release keys and that I have .../falcon_umts:4.4.3/KBX21.14 etc../release keys.
Any idea?
I had a problem installing this security update.
I made a thread about my issue in Q&A here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g/help/stuck-motorola-bootlogo-security-update-t3364145

It's mostly the recent stagefright patches + other security stuff it seems
This update broke my gf's system, she was running the brazilian 5.1, rooted with TWRP recovery installed.
Don't install this unless you flash stock recovery again and unroot, or flash the full firmware again, then apply OTAS, then root and install your custom recovery. (as usual with any OTA on a rooted system).
So good that Motorola had supported our phone for 2 years, could'nt be more satisfied.

You broke your gf system, by updating without firstly restoring everything to stock, next time think before acting
will optimised stock rom's recieve this update?
