I lost root after the update. Re-ran motofail2go, root is back...
Sent from my DROID RAZR MAXX HD

I get the message that I do not have enough room to download the update. I did a factory reset and only installed ota rootkeeper and supersu. Any suggestions as to what to do?
Transmissum est ex Transformo Primo cum Tapatalk duo

If you have some frozen vzw apps you may have to unfreeze them before the update.

I used OTA Rootkeeper and it did NOT keep my root. When I tried to restore the root, it said that root had been restored, but nothing happened. Tried a reboot and ran it again, same issue. Ran the motofail2go and root was restored.

I thought I had kept root, but after a reboot I lost it. I have run the exploit several times and can't gain root again. Did a factory reset and still can't get it. HELP!

Reloading the stock firmware in RSD Lite. Let's see how this goes.
Edit: OK, back to original firmware. Root worked. Restoring from TiBU and will try root keeper and this update one more time...
Edit 2: OTA Root keeper worked. Latest firmware + root!

I can confirm OTA root keeper worked perfectly after updating. Even after rebooting recovery shows 1/1 rooted.

That's weird. I wonder why.. I tried it on my brothers phone, reboot and confirmed that it also held root. You are using OTA root keeper and running it before hitting update right?

Used OTA... protected root.....then did temp unroot before applying update

so is this small update pushed to allow use with the new isis wallet app?
from what i understood, the dinc 4g lte was the only working device on verizon and saw plans that the razr hd and maxx hd were to be added by the end of last week. can someone with either the razr hd or maxx hd that has the ota update search play for isis wallet and see if its available now on your device?
thanks in advance
(i'm planning on buying the razr hd monday)

sweet. at least there is progress being made on verizons part.
seems like swapping sim card shouldn't be too difficult for verizon to accomplish, lol. you never know though.
any chance someone could try using that ota rootkeeper app to hide root and then try installing isis wallet app?
i live in salt lake where isis wallet is being tested and am curious, sorry for all the questions. kinda excited to get the phone monday. feels like christmas coming or something lol.

the app is supposed to check for root as seen in the third paragraph here:
PCMag article for ISIS Wallet
i'm guessing the update was to enable the ability to use this new app.

No go launching Isis with root disabled using OTA root keeper. I get the warning message that says my phone doesn't meet the requirements. It doesn't specify which requirement fails so can't say if it's detecting root or if there's something else missing.

Is that all the new update is? isis wallet?

If you installed the most recent update without using Voodoo RootKeeper to back up your root, you're up the creek without a paddle because the newest update breaks root and changes the bootloader so you can't SBF.

Make sure to install ota rootkeeper and follow instructions, if you are rooted.

I hope you're not doing it for some kind of warranty reason, because if so you're hosed. Razr M has a root checker. When you get into recovery, you will notice a yellow "qe 0/1" or something like this. It will say "0/1" if the device has been rooted before but isn't now, "1/1" if the device is currently rooted, and "0/0" if the device has never been rooted.
It is impossible to make it say "0/0" after root, so even if you unroot it (trivial, just fastboot back to stock) it will always say that you have rooted it at one point in time, which voids your warranty (and your TOS, depending). Rooting this phone means taking it into your own hands.
Bastards!
What about for replacement devices after the warranty is over? Like if you get the insurance on the phone, does rooting void that too?

Don't quote me on this, and YMMV but the Verizon (Asurion) insurance covered my rooted d2g a few months ago... it should cover the M as well

Would anyone mind linking a verification on this issue? Thinking of getting a RAZR M myself and being able to get abck to stock with a "qe 0/0" in case of a hardware malfunction would be something I would want.
I'm also looking at root and custom roms, and interested in this.
actually in the supersu app ther is an option that says full unroot it is in the settings under clean up and it says full unroot
Can I only unroot my Razr M back to STOCK ICS??? How would I unroot and get JellyBean back? Or can I not get it back?
Btw I prefer the notification bar on ICS versus the new JB one....

Well, the issue is not unrooting; its that Motorola has a root checker in the recovery menu that says whether the phone is rooted, not rooted, or not rooted but was rooted in the past. That last one is the concern....

I had a crazy counter read that was 2:1. I unrooted, flashed to ICS, factory ota to JB and it read 0. That phone is long gone. Had to reflash JB last week on my replacement and now I'm steady at 1:1. So, my guess is you can't. You could on the OG RAZR I believe, but not this updated system. My first M had that reading before the root exploit was available. (2:1)

ATT Moto X Camera Update Rolling out

Looks like the update is rolling out. Guessing this should not break the root exploit for non dev editions correct? If one is currently rooted, they would have to return 100% to stock so stock recovery is there for the OTA update to successfully install. And then re-root?

I'm wondering how I can get the update. I bought the phone from Rogers, but use it with Bell. I'm not on the Rogers network, so I'm sure I can't get the update OTA from Rogers. I'm hoping there's a rom or kernal or something I can flash/install.

Shouldn't matter. The update doesn't come from YOUR provider, the device's ROM is designed so that it pulls from Rogers' servers. When Rogers releases the update, you'll get it.

Another root method could happen sure... But unlocking not likely at all.. The only reason we got the 2nd chance we did is because someone at moto "accidentally" used the old tz code that's vulnerable to Dan Rosenbergs exploit
