So i just flashed PA2.5 last night on my N7 and it didnt have Google Play Music as an app. instead had apollo.
So tonight I try to install it from apks and using a vpn to download it from Play Store but they all fail.
Side loading says app cannot be installed. Play store gives me an err 24
I go into root explorer go to system/app and see a music2.apk with music2.odex and move those files out of system on to the sd card area but i still cannot install this app...
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Many thanks.
EDIT
solved... i just moved the files from data/data for play music

ok, so here's what happened i downloaded hawx from gameloft store, didn't like it so i used an uninstall program to delete it (quick uninstall by david blackman), i thought it had worked fine.
wrong
next time i open up mediascape i find 500 audio files from hawx
so i had to download a file manager and manually delete those 500 audio files
anyone know a better way? or at least a program that uninstalls everything?
Hi
Hey I had the same problem as you when I installed Asphalt.
Just make a .nomedia file with notepad and it in the HAWX or whatever folder.

Can't you just hook up the phone to ur computer via usb and delete those 500 files... its obv a problem with the uninstaller, but atleast this way u dont need to manually delete 500 files
When I adb install the new cm9 music after installjng cm9 by epsylon3 it always force closes and doesnt work at all. What do I do for it. I also reinstalled cm9 but no advantage. Please help.
Try the player attached in this post.
Installation instructions:
1. Use file manager and copy /system/app/Music.apk to somewhere on your sdcard.
2. copy the new Music.apk that you obtained from the above link to /system/app/
3. reboot or install the apk.
4. go to "Manage apps", select the music app and clear data and cache.
Then try launching the new Music. It should be in your app drawer.
This is just a suggestion. It worked for. Though I had no FC's with the old music app.
This link also helps!!

Hey thanks man did exactly what you said. No force closes so far. But I am getting the force closes for the new miuiV4 music app for ics. So is it the fault in the app itself ?
I have installed fresh stock copy of gingerbeard 2.3.5 and my kernel version is attached in this photo. when I installed the copy, I couldn't find Google play store and I manually downloaded it some where from here. when I open the Google play store and when it asks to add account the application exist! anyone?
your system also needs google services framework.apk to run play store properly
search for gapps abd flash the .zip file you download via cwm or download a rom which includes playstore and extract the above.apk and copy pasge it in your system/app folder. you need root to do the 2nd
I accidentally removed Youtube. I tried to install it again for google Play store and its crashing after opening. I installed it as apk, and it did the same thing. any help?
If you are on stock rom (i suppose you haven't deodexed it), go to /system/app using root explorer and see if you can find Youtube.odex. That file may be causing some problems. Delete it, and then install a downloaded youtube apk.
If you're on a custom rom, I recommend you to reflash your rom as i can't think of any other solution.
If you are on custom rom or stock rom download youtube from google play store...and if you want make it system app
Globally recognised and certified NOOB
Use root explorer move your downloaded apk to system / app and set permission as r-w-r-r--.
Before that clear data of your previously installed YouTube.

I have the n900t
rooted
Bam Rom
Android 4.2.2
Can't seem to download some apps from Google Play store. I get "insufficient memory" error.
I have over 9gb of memory on the phone. Already attempted Lucky Patcher, App Cache Cleaner, cleared data form Google Play services and Store apps. Uninstalled any apks associated with the apps in question (Instagram, etc.)
What am I missing? Anyone have a clue what I can do. Never had a problem until today.

happened to me too, is caused by unused .odex files. Just go to data/app/ folder and search for odex files, there should be one named as the app that you can't install

Found an unassociated .odex file in there. Deleted that one but didn't resolve the issue. Could .odex files be hiding anywhere else. I swear I've been up and down the file explorer in search for anything it could be.
