Is there a way to change to clors on clock/menues with .50?
Just love how it looks but it would have been nice to change colors from time to time.
Couldnt post in the regular page of .50 since I was an new user.
Nexus7 <3 :good:
Why didnt you search the main thread? It is possible but its not a PA specific feature. To change the colors you need to either edit the SystemUI.apk or download and apply a CM10 theme. The latter being the easiest.
Ok, thank you. Gonna check out the Theme. To edit the SystemUI.APK you need a program or is it just color codes with notepad and such like a cfg?
You can find a bunch of cm10 themes on the play store.
Editing .apks IMO is a pain. If you are doing anything more than swapping out .PNG files you will have to decompile, edit, then recompile. If you want to do that just search around and you will find a tutorial.

I love colored themes so I made one for the latest Milestone CyanogenMod 7 RC4.1 0.08-11.04.10
Everything is colored, you will love this theme. Some screenshots are attached (or see post #8) , but that's not all...
Download the file, put in OpenRecovery/update folder and reboot in recovery
Important: Make a Nandroid Backup before installing!.
Install like you installed CM7 and Google Apps
Change background (default is black to save space) and enjoy
Here is the NEW link:

or else download from MirrorCreator (thanks to sileshn)

Note: there are other updated versions in the following pages.
Feel free to download my theme and use my icons in your themes
where the preview...?
Make it Theme Chooser theme or I am pretty sure noone will use it.
It's not only for framework-res, but also browser, settings and more files.
With Theme Chooser you will have less than 40% of the theme.
I will post preview in few hours
EDIT: I don't know how to make an update.zip file, if someone link me a guide I will do it.
I tried once and make a disaster, maybe because I used the google apps update.zip as source

you should make an update.zip package. your method is too complicated for a noob... and a preview is also a most recommended thing

You can use the attached template for creating a update.zip for your theme.
apps go into /system/app folder
fonts go into /system/fonts folder
framework files go into /system/framework folder
edit : Here is your theme as a flashable zip file.
Done. Now I'm making some previews.
Here is the theme:

Well, in that case , you need to replace the themed apps in the theme zip file with the original ones and apply the theme again.

at CyanogenMod7 not have these options needs to change in the framework-res.apk, but where this meeting. xml and how to set it up?
Thanks for answering me
sorry my bad english
Ok, i did not know that CM7 did not have those settings. It was there in CM6 if i remember right.
Anyway, here is how to do it. You need to decompile framework-res.apk and open styles.xml file inside /res/values folder. Then search for the code shown below.
Code:

You have to change ?textColorPrimaryInverse to ?textColorPrimary if you want white. You can also mention the actual color there like, #ffffffff for white.
Then recompile and reflash. See the snapshot below
thanks I'll try to do this
just one question I am modifying the framework-res by metamorph if after unpacking the framework-res.apk need to do signapk?
and I can leave that. xml so

#ffffffff</ item>
Thank you for your help
I don't think it will work using metamorph. I have not tried it. If you send me your framework-res.apk , I can mod it for you. You can attach it here.

Works fine on TW rom with mod style framewok to AOSP
You 'can customize the phone through pitchers, wallpapers, themes, icons, links, etc. With a handful of applications you can have wonderful personalization on your phone.
However, there are many limitations to what you can customize your Android phone. These limitations can be removed if you root your phone. In addition, there is no fun at all if you do not root, because typhoid has almost no disadvantages, and the list of benefits is ......... ..infinite!
As a user rooted, we can do the following things:
1. Install a custom ROM, a ROM is simply the phone firmware. Installing a custom ROM has many advantages. You can change the phone according to your tastes. Go to forum.xda-developers.com and enter your phone model in "type find the device ..." box at the top. The section called "Android Development" contains ROM, guides and many other things that you are not even aware of.
2. Modify Kernel [cautiously]: Actually, this part is one advanced. A kernel is well explained in this guide to AndroidCentral. Like any ROM, you can install a custom kernel, too. With a custom kernel, you can overclock the CPU and GPU (ie to increase their frequencies), tweak the battery life, and more. But the kernel to be a vital part of any phone, must be handled with care.
3. Use amazing apps that can run only on rooted phones. Here we are talking about applications, then we will cover this point below. There are a wide range of applications for embedded devices, but will focus exclusively on the customization.
I would like to take the systemui.apk from the galaxy rom and apply it to the stock honeycomb 3.1 rom, is there away to do such a thing? I ask this because i like the theme from the galaxy rom and am up for a change but i don't want to flash an entire new rom. I ask this assuming that the systemui.apk is responsible for the theme of a rom.
bump
edited the question so its alittle more to the point.
Just a couple of days ago I themed the Home/Back/Recent Apps icons on the bottom bar to be a different color. All I did was replace those three png files with ones i photo-shopped in the systemUI.apk I used 7zip to replace the pngs within the apk and ES file explorer to replace the systemUI.apk on the tab. If you're interested in more detailed instructions hit me up.
I don't think its all of what you're looking to do but it's a step closer.
no that's not exactly what I am looking for. Although that is cool you should post instructions and screenshots for everyone to see.
Hi.
When replacing framework-res .apk with another one,
does the framework has to be compiled from the same
rom or can i use a framework-res .apk from another rom?
Also what do i have to edit to be able to change the
settings?
Like adding colour or making it look like iphone or ICS.
Thanks

The Framework-res.apk has to be compiled from your actually ROM, cause this have the entire UI System and features from the ROM.
If you want to costumize the color, forms and styles, you have to descompile "SystmeUI.apk" with the framework-res.apk from the same ROM. I Guess.
Not sure if this is the right place or not, but I just got my s5 tonight and I would like to theme it a bit by changing some icons. On my old phones, I would just pull framework res or sysUI and replace the pngs I wanted to, then push it back to the phone. It does not look like that is an option since it looks like most everything is qmg now. Should I use Samsung theme designer or do custom roms play nicer with custom themes? I am rooted, but I have not installed safestrap or a rom yet.
Check out themes n apps section.. or search for an app on xda called qmg2png. It'll convert qmg to png for editing
