Try turn off the "avoid poor connection" option in Wi-Fi - advanced.
Thank if I was helpful.
Cheers
Sent from my Awesome Defy!

got the same problem
"avoid poor connections" on my defy is disabled
(red lens, newest CM10 from Quarx (but on earlier builds also))

Wireless security
Try changing the security on the wireless router. For me WiFi was useless until I changed from WPA2-PSK to WPA-PSK.
Right now I'm not at home so I can't tell if this stands for the new update as well. Worth a try.

My brother have a green lense defy and it's working very good at the same router and same build, but my defy+ doesn't.
Avoid poor connections is disabled :/

It's a very common problem, some have it, some never experience it. Sometimes a router firmware upgrade helps, sometime editing the tiwlan.ini and turning off the N mode. I thought it would be easier to start with the router and if you are feeling brave then
1. Use the Root explorer, open this file path: “/etc/wifi/”,
2. Make a backup and use the file editor to open the “tiwlan.ini”.
3. Find this two lines below, change the value if it is not 0.
HT_Enable = 0 # 0=diable 802.11n support
BurstModeEnable = 0 # 0 - Disabled 1 - Enabled
4. Save the file, then reboot your Defy.
This approach never helped me but who knows...
But still, you should start with the router really.

changing 1 to 0 worked...
thanks for the last post....
worked for me..:good:.

Thank you!I upgraded my router firmware and it's working!!!I hope it will be working on the most routers not only at home

You're Welcome
You're welcome, glad to help, but yeah it's a serious problem and you can't update every router's fw
De ha akarod megpróbálhatod, csak kérlek fényképezd le az arcokat amikor bejelented, hogy "Nem megy a Defy-m önöknél, frissíthetek routert? "

Apparently B866 is Huawei Honor 2.3 rom which Huawei made avaliable on their site a couple days ago.
This chinese rom seems based on that B866 rom, too bad Google Translator is not good enough to understand the user feedback on the chinese forum, don't even know if it has other languages besides chinese. Waiting for feedback in english
Translated text by google translate:
Huawei's official website yesterday upgraded version 4.0 of the glory of the business, but also updated the 2.3 to B866, transplanted to our U8800 with, well, it seems that Huawei's share of a source is indeed true, so the glory of the U8800 runs on far from transplantation than, in my opinion can not be called transplant. Also tomorrow, LW official upgrade, this is said to solve many problems such as loss of the desktop plug-in, SMS and so on, if you have time, will the upgrade version.

G Major enhancements added to the script. Enabled by default 80M of compcache (ZRAM), the default unlock FPS
Non-core overclocking, the camera really support HDR, upgrade to 2.3.6 retains the glory of the characteristics of the ROM program, the current task previews and other personal test run, WIFI available, because the glory of the framework based entirely on function does not work so hot (that is, You can not simulate the 3G wireless wifi signal available to other mobile phone use, care about this feature using the previous version of the proposal)
In addition, as Huawei's open opportunity to mount the 2.3 cust partition, and the burden is also linked to the starter theme, so completely off slow start, 40 seconds down individuals.

It's not an official one, Huawei never post news on third party forums.
brief translation of the Description section:
━━━━━━━━━━
it's based on offcial 2.3 ROM(B866) for Huawei Honor U8860, it keep the offcial characters as far as possible. stripped out some bundled applications like Sina blogging (a twitter liked application)
fixed the readonly CUST issue; added root priviledge; added RE manager(root explorer?).
added Senior G (genokolar)'s enhanced script
default: enabled 80M compcache(ZRAM); FPS is unlocked
use non-overclocking kernel; camera will really support HDR; system upgrade to 2.3.6; keeps featured appliclations in Honor ROM; task preview; etc...
Known issues:
according my personal test, WIFI is working, but WIFI AP is not working because it totally based on Honor framework.
because it will mount /CUST partition in this ROM and the launcher bundled a theme(?), so the power off/on speed is slow, my test result is about 40 seconds.

So, we have:
- Not working Wifi AP (If I try to enable it, I get Error message and if I try to enable Wifi after the phone reboots)
- No GAPPS
---> I've installed Cyanogem GAPPS and it works without problems (so far)
- The sound recorder have a lot of background noise, but I think that also happens in the 2.3.5
- Working all sensors
- Working Wifi, GPS, Bluetooth, 3G (I don't have data plan so I didn't test it correctly)
- The sound while calling it's a little better than the official 2.3.5 (28/12/11)
- USB connection to the PC is also working
- Sound works like 2.3.5
- It cames with TitaniumBackup 4.0, Root Explorer (I think). Both apps are in chinese!
- It have a pretty cool task manager
- The launcher is the same of 2.3.5
For what I've tested it could be a good rom to have, but there are no big differences to the 2.3.5.
You could see some screenshots of the rom attached
So is needed to install first the 2.3 of huwei and only after this one or I can go directly from my miui with the old kernel?

I don't have those probems in this ROM neither in te 2.3.5.
This is one port of the Huawei Honor (u8860) (Portuguese article)
Try the ROM and tell us your feedback.
Maybe the drivers included in this ROM solve some issues.
I'll install it once again to see if the missing calls issue is present.
ROM Info:
This port is based in the B866 Stock ROM of Hauwei Honor (u8860)
- It was realesed by Hauwei on the December 30th of 2011.
- The language should be English but as the port was made for a Chinese developer it have the Chinese language as the first one, but all the other languages are present.

DO NOT ISNSTALL THE ROM OF THE LINK ABOVE, IT'S ONLY FOR INFO!!! THAT ROM IS TO U8860 NOT TO U8800.
About the port:
- The ROM is based entirelly in the B866 ROM of the u8860.
- Some stuff (garbage apps) of the original ROM were removed.
- Root added.
- The FPS are unlocked.
- Non overclocking kernel.
- The camera supports HDR
- Pretty cool task manager, with previews of the running programs.
Not Working:
- The only problem is the Wifi AP, but I don't use it, so it isn't a problem for me at all.
You can install it using CWM (I'm using the v.5.0.2.7).
- Just clear cache, factory reset.
- Go to advanced, clear Dalvik cache.
- Reboot recovery (sometimes the SD card doen´t mount properly and doing the reboot recovery the issue is solved)
- Install zip from SD Card.
- Install the GAPS if you want them and reboot.

More feedback about it:
- Since yesterday I didn't have any reboot or FC.
- I've ran Antutu Benchmark and I got better results than the 2.3.5 stock rom. My results with 2.3.5 with the stock kernel are more or less 2400 and with this one I got 2643.
- I can play 3D games like Ninja Fruit, GT Racing better than with the 2.3.5.
- No missing calls issue of the 2.3.5
Nice and smooth! Cool!

[ROM][May8][RC1.6] WebCM9 with Cornerstone! AOKP #34 Beta1 live! Now with Themes!

VIDEO REVIEW:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=na-iugam4eQ&feature=youtu.be
Disclaimer: I am not responsible for any damage to your device due to flashing this ROM! Flash at your own risk!
Special thanks to the CM9 team, AOKP team, and Onskreen!
Extra special thanks to zanderman112 for the video review and new screenshots!
This is more-or-less a straight kang of CM9 and AOKP for the HP Touchpad with Onskreen's Cornerstone baked in. If you're not familiar with Cornerstone, check out http://www.onskreen.com/cornerstone/
In a nutshell, Cornerstone is a Android modification that allows for true multitasking. Not the "Press the Back button to go to the previous app"-type of multitasking, but actually being able to have 3 applications running at once. Cornerstone utilizes the additional screen real estate on tablets to keep up to 3 applications on your screen at one time. It's kind of hard to understate what a different experience Android is using Cornerstone. Check out the screenshots to see what I mean!
Cyanogen himself is using it and loves it, and is trying to incorporate it into CM9, although there are some roadblocks: https://plus.google.com/u/0/100275307499530023476/posts/ViCME1bb8F6 Having said that, Cornerstone isn't perfect- there are still some rough edges to iron out, and porting it to the Touchpad was a little tricky, but it should be
BUGS:
- All the known CM9 bugs (i.e. no camera)
- Wifi is buggy for some (see comments below) (FIXED)
- Bluetooth (?)
- Recent apps out of focus in landscape (looking into it)
- Changing the DPI messes with the CSPanel (although the functionality remains intact) (FIXED)
- Videos will not run with the CSPanel active, you'll need to minimize it for full screen (FIXED)
- Some apps get "stuck"- either rotate landscape to portrait or vice versa, or close Cornerstone and launch it again (FIXED)
- The Home selection menu is buggy- working on a fix (FIXED)
- Probably others

Starting with RC 1.6, wifi issues should be resolved. Please let me know if you are still having issues though.
NOTES ON WIFI (PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING!)
Update- 4/24/12
Wifi seems to stay connected without Rohan's Mod- AFTER rebooting 1-2 times. Try this first and please report back. Also, wifi will get flaky again if you reboot to WebOS and back to Android. Again, you will have to reboot a few times or flash Rohan's Mod again.
Update- 3/19/12
Many users are reporting that wifi works for them after installing Rohan's Supreme Tweaks 1.5. If you are still having wifi issues, here is the link.
Others are also reporting alternate wifi drivers helped them with their wifi issues: Thread here, direct download link here.
3/17/12
So I have noticed there are a couple of people with wifi issues using my Cornerstone ROMs. I also had a lot of issues with wifi, mainly with it not turning on after a restart, or finally turning on and seeing my wifi network, but not actually being able to connect to it. It was frustrating. Wifi is the lifeblood of the Touchpad! So I read through all the threads and posts about wifi, trying a bunch of different things, but there was one fix that solved my wifi issues permanently, regardless of what ROM I used-I switched my router's wifi channel to 1 (if you have a dual-band router, switching the 5ghz channel to 157 also helps, to a lesser extent). After that, I could connect after each reboot without fail. So if you are having wifi issues, please try that first.
Now, I realize some of you don't have the luxury of being able to switch wifi channels (for those connecting through work or school networks, for example) and I feel your pain. So I've switched to the CM Nightly kernel. This is the same kernel used in the CM9 nightlies, so you should have the exact same performance. So until there is a permanent solution to the wifi issues for everyone, please bear this in mind and leave comments on whether wifi is working for you or not.
One more for the road
Sounds great man. Thanks for the hard work. Will test asap.
this is great and I appreciate the hard work, but it makes really appreciate webOS in the fact that apps on the TouchPad like Glimpse does just this and works near flawlessly... Glad you guys are incorporating these different items.
Looks very promising, nice work so far!

The "fix" in cherry kang makes things better but it is by no means a permanent fix sadly.

Whatttt, trying this at home in a few hours. OnSkreen was the next thing to look for.
edit: wipe data/cache or flash on top?
I just want to reiterate that anyone wanting to use this should probably read the google plus discussion linked in the OP for the very real concerns. I just want the end user to use this responsibly in order that we can continue getting cutting edge features added to our devices. Pay particular attention to the concerns expressed by diana hackborn and the founder of onskreen (forgot his name, but cant seem to reopen the g+ site at the moment).
Thank you and have fun!
This is a no drama zone. Thread cleaned...of bickering. Here is what you missed;
THE MIC IS NOT WORKING ON THIS BUILD...LIKE ALL THE REST.
Now, let's get back on topic.

Which build of CM9 was this based on?
This build seems to have killed my wifi totally - I can confirm after several resets via ACMEUninstaller and starting fresh with both Alpha 0.5 and 0.6 (Wifi both working fine, I don't recall any issues with Alpha 0 either) Wifi was working - able to connect and access wifi, I then booted into CWM and flashed this and unable to even turn wifi on. (To clarify, my latest test was: Remove Android via ACMEUninstaller, Flashed Alpha 0.6, tested wifi was functional, flashed cornerstone ROM over 0.6 - wifi broken, cornerstone functional)
It's a really tough choice - having cornerstone is really quite cool, but I can't live without the wifi.
Am I doing something wrong (Am I supposed to flash via cminstall/ACMEInstaller2?) or is anybody else getting this?

You're probably not doing anything wrong....my WIFI was almost useless with this build also. I backed it up so that I can easily restore for when the bugs get worked out, but I had to go back to the ClassicNerd ROM for now since it runs flawlessly for me.

Yes, there was a reported problem with Cornerstone keeping Wifi toggled on startup. I'm working on another build that includes the latest CM wifi fix. It should be up later today.
Newb here ... I don't seem to have the market app installed after booting up this rom. How would I go about getting this installed.

Wait, I thought you needed 10 posts to at least post in a dev thread, you only have 5 at this moment.
@antiphon
Which build is based off of? Is it strictly a 0.6a + onskreen or is it later than 0.6a + onskreen or is it closer to a nightly + onskreen? Kang seems too broad a description, it should at least mention the base, or when it was synced with the repo.

Sweet....will there be an update to the Cornerstone app included? The one from the current ROM had an issue with the lower side screen where the app overlapped into the title bar of the lowerscreen. Also, in the demo vid from Onskreen, it shows a button that allows you to swap the apps from one of the smaller side screens to the larger main screen...this feature isn't in the current ROM so was curious...thanks!
Watching this thread VERY closely! I am so glad I got my Touchpad when I did.

[Q] wpa_supplicant for gt-p6810

I have the wifi only version of the SGT7.7 and it annoys me that the built in wpa_supplicant filters out ad-hoc networks. I am in the process of setting up a development environment for this device but I need the right version of the wpa_supplicant source code. Anyone point me to it?
In any case, this process is somewhat like bashing my head against a brock wall - given the various different toolchains, etc. Anyone want to post a compiled version of ad-hoc wpa_supplicant for this device and put me out of my misery?
Multiple hits out there on the interwebs for other Android devices but none of them work on mine. So far. Size of the binary is way too small in most cases.
This device is running Honeycomb (3.2) right now - fingers crossed for ICS soon. I have rooted it, of course.
# ./wpa_supplicant -version

at github.com/CyanogenMod/android_external_wpa_supplicant_8.git
don't know if it's the right source, given it's the ICS stream.
Any joy with this one? I too am after a wpa_supplicant that will enable ad-hoc on SGT7.7.
working on it
Not yet. Still trying to get the right toolchain setup so this thing compiles without error. In my limited free time.
Thanks texkelly. Appreciate the effort.
If there's any testing I can help out with I'd be happy to. I have a rooted SGT 7.7 and have tried the variety of wpa_supplicant files that are already available.
Resurrecting an old thread.
Any updates on this? It would be very helpful to enable ad-hoc so I can share my Smartphone's/Laptop's connection easily.
Thanks in advance.

Tried olsr (rel 0.5) on P6800 but isn't working. Is there a newer version (rel 0.6) here http://www.olsr.org/releases/0.6/ but not a precompiled samsung android version for binaries.
At this moment for adhoc wifi usage only chance is to use CM (9 & 10) but unfortunately both version suffers in wifi drivers (Atheros closed sources drivers) and are still unstable - tethering issues, signal quality, bizarre activation behaviour...
Resurrecting the thread. Anyone?

[ROM Release] Huawei ICS Based on B927 (By Moihack - V2 version)[DSP Manager Enabled]

Hello there guys!
Today I'm presenting you with a modified B927 ICS ROM.
Let's see what changed:
Changelog V2:
1) Zeam Launcher replaced with Trebuchet Launcher(Official CM9 Launcher).
2) Added DSP Manager from CM9 and Google Music (huawei music player had issues on my phone)
3) Slightly modified media_profiles.xml for better video quality
4) Re-enabled fast-boot option & restart prompt at power menu
5) Changed minimum CPU frequency from 368 MHz to 245 MHz in order to save some battery.
V2 Installation:
1) Flash V1 by following instructions below in this post
2) Download Update_To_V2.zip and flash it via recovery
3) Enjoy The Changes!!!
Download Link V2 Update Zip:
http://www.mediafire.com/?uupg9v5wbv22tzu
Changelog V1:
1) Deleted lots of apps and stuff. Final rom size is 141 MB. You can flash this without repartitioning the system
2) System Language is English and doesn't change anymore automatically to mobile network's language (seriously this drives me nuts ). You can change system language from the settings menu as usual.
3) Default CPU Governor changed to userspace. System seems more responsive this way. You can always change it with an app like no frills cpu control.
4) Added Volume Rocker Wake & Search Button turns the screen on/off.
5) Added Init.d support
6) Unlocked FPS and Network Tweaks. Both are in the script called tweaks in Init.d folder.
7) Updated hosts file. No more ads in free apps.
8) Changed Default Launcher to Zeam Launcher. I know most people would want an ICS one like APEX or NOVA launcher but I didn't have much time to play around and see who is better. If Zeam doesn't suit your needs then install any launcher you want from Play Store.
9) Removed Fast-Boot Option and Restart option from power menu(will re-add them in the future)
Installation Notes:
Do the following:
1) Copy the rom .zip file to your sd
2) Go into recovery
3) Wipe data/factory reset
4) Advanced->Wipe Dalvik Cache
5) Install .zip from sd card
Extra Notes: & Issues
Screenshots available in attachments.
Screen has visual artifacts in quadrant benchmark. This is due to fps unlock script. Other than that everything seems to work fine.
Download: V1 (see up for newer version)

Please Read!
I will be missing the whole weekend and won't have access to xda.
Port here your feedback and I will read it all when I'm back!
This is just a quick rom mod because I didn't have enough time today to cook it as I would like. I'm gonna make some more changes when I return.
what about incall volume?

as long as this one is based on broxnitas, any issues that rom has will also exist in this rom. I don't have any problem actually with incall volume, but I will test it more deeply after the weekend.
the incall volume is normal, but bronxitas is trying to increase it to the maximum level
free ram
hi, how many of free RAM do you have with this build?
thank you
Not Wifi again on U8800-51
I really do not understand and now I'm giving up. If I use the ROM Aurora_4.1_4.0.4 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1532662), I have Wifi and not FM Radio. If I use your ROM, the Wi-Fi don't work ("Turning Wifi-On" and nothing) and the FM Radio works.
Any idea why this happens?. I tried to combine all files and folders that have a Wi-Fi relation, from Aurora to your ROM, but nothing.
Finally, I had to return to Aurora_4.1_4.0.4, I'd rather sacrifice the FM Radio to have Wi-Fi again.
Sorry, but I did not understand?
How do I install this ROM?
2.3.5 Recovery from or how?
Read this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1343276. Volumen + - and Power, Pink Screen, then backup your 'Recovery.img' and replace with the new 'Recover.img' (CWM 5.0.2.7).
Good luck
I know how to put on RECOVERY 2.3.5
I wondered from 2.3.5 to install this ROM?!?!? Or?

Hello again sewa2k, wanted to know if it works the Wifi on your phone. I have tried every official ROM B927 and the Wifi don't works, but the FM Radio is ok. Only ROM MIUI o Aurora works perfect with the Wifi, but NOT the radio. If you have any information, I appreciate it.
Thanks.

How To Install:
You must be on 2.3 based ROM then:
1: You need to flash Step1 from official B926 for bigger system partition capacity
2. Download ZIP
3. Put it to external SD card and do it as allways, advanced>reboot recovery>wipe data/cache/dalvik cache>Instal ZIP from SD card>Choose U8800proB927CWMStockV1_1.zip
I was on ics so i had to flash the 2.3.5 first.then the repartition.zip, had to copy the cwm recovery again, and then U8800proB927CWMStockV2.zip

After installing the patch than anything else did, I followed the instructions step by step and the wifi still does not work.
thanks
We have the Huawei U8800-51, in Venezuela on several occasions the rom for the 8800 Pro also works for the U8800-51, but this time it is not, does not work on wifi, if you could help us we will work on wifi, eg in that of kalo (B876_KALO) we both work (data and wifi), if someone could make a patch that we solve the problem with the wifi or maybe have an idea to make the wifi work in the U8800-51? with this rom, it would be a great help for us in Venezuela
and thank you very much for such a great job
This is going to be a GREAT ROM if you put more time in it.
I haven't found any bug, but I'd like to do some recommendations.
First of all, I'd be great if SU was removed, and root access was given automately.
Secondly, I suggest the FPS is unlocked to 55 (sorry if it already is, it feels like it's at 45-50 sometimes).
Lastly, I noticed this ROM is not overclockable. Could you make it?
Thanks. I hope I see those improvements in the next update.

[ROM][E210][LineageOS 14.1]LineageOS for E210L/S/K + extras

[size=+2]This ROM is no longer updated as I don't have the device anymore. Feel free to use my code from GitHub to compile newer versions.[/size]
I have created this ROM for my E210L and I would like to share it here. This is direct port of Cyanogenmod/LineageOS from i9300 to E210L/S/K.
My ROM is based on work from FullGreen: https://github.com/FullGreen and on weeks of original research.
Previous versions of my ROM was direct ports of FullGreen ROM to E210L, later version was ported from scratch from CM13 stable release ZNH5Y sources for i9300, and still had many things based on FullGreen work.
The new version is based on latest source of LineageOS for GT-I9300.
[size=+3]ROM Download[/size]
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=146865 - updated at 2018-10-02.
Older releases:
https://mega.nz/#F!28xyAJTY!gQ5dsDWIz3ydJkhyHEZ1fQ
[size=+3]Flashing[/size]
It is always recommended to upgrade to latest official stock ROM before switching to LineageOS. This is because latest stock ROM includes updated modem and bootloader.
To flash the ROM, use TWRP - for E210L it is available together with the ROM. For E210S and E210K, use TWRP for I9300 from http://twrp.me.
GApps can be downloaded from http://opengapps.org/ , architecture ARM, version 7.1, variant nano.
Boeffla kernel - optional - is also available with the ROM, it can be installed from recovery if you wan't to use it.
[size=+3]WARNING!!![/size]
PLEASE BACK UP EFS BEFORE FLASHING!!! Tweaking this phone can cause EFS wipe in some cases, and you must have a backup to restore it to normal.
[size=+3]Known bugs:[/size]
- Signal strength sometimes will be shown empty, this is only cosmetic issue (but too difficult for me to fix) and don't affect real signal strength.
- As my ROM is based on official LineageOS sources, and for now there is no stable release of LineageOS, if there are bugs in official LineageOS for i9300, they will be probably present also in my ROM.
- Cell broadcasts are disabled as they seem to cause battery drain.
Please note that for most of the cases I cannot solve bugs as I'm not LineageOS developer, I'm only doing a direct port from I9300 to E210.
[size=+3]Troubleshooting[/size]
If having issues with WIFI or IMEI:
Enable developer options and ADB root access, then connect phone to computer and enter in adb shell:
Code:
su
restorecon -R -F /efs
reboot
You have to do this from normal LineageOS, NOT from recovery or from stock/another ROM.
If you restore EFS from backup or go to another ROM and return to this ROM and you have problems, do this again.
There is no harm in doing this if not sure.
If your WIFI still not working, read this:
WIFI module in Galaxy S3 can be of three different types - murata, semco and semcosh. Normally the driver should be able to detect the right type by MAC address, but in LineageOS detection not always works correctly. Theoretically this can be a problem also for the regular model GT-I9300, but it seems to affect mainly the SHV-E210 model. To overcome this, I have made an option to manually override your WIFI module type. To do this, you have to update to my latest version of the ROM and then create an empty file named wifi_override_murata or wifi_override_semco or wifi_override_semcosh in your /data partition.
To do this, enable developer options, then turn on root access for ADB, then connect phone to computer, enter adb shell and execute :
Code:
su
For murata :
rm /data/wifi_override_semco
rm /data/wifi_override_semcosh
touch /data/wifi_override_murata
For semco :
rm /data/wifi_override_semcosh
rm /data/wifi_override_murata
touch /data/wifi_override_semco
For semcosh :
rm /data/wifi_override_murata
rm /data/wifi_override_semco
touch /data/wifi_override_semcosh
Then reboot the phone and try again using WIFI. You have try each of the three options to determine which option is right for your device. And if you hard reset your device, you will have to do this again.
In voice call, if the other person hears an echo of himself try to change AudioFX settings or disable AudioFX in the app.

The G-O-D for everything! ,
CyanogenMOD and LineageOS teams for the OS,
FullGreen for the ROM and the kernel,
TWRP for custom recovery,
osm0sis for Android Image Kitchen,
xpirt for sdat2img and rimg2sdat,
Lord Boeffla for his kernel and Anykernel scripts,
and everyone else I have used their work.
Runs great so far!
Nice job on making this work on this device, a fix for the battery drain issue would be perfect. I sadly do not have knowledge of this else i would be able to assist. Keep it up!
Perfect!!
Good job, the battery drain is high but the rom is fantastic, thanks for this
