I have a defy on GB kernel running 4.5.1_134 full sbf. Its Retail.en.DE.
I was wondering if roms from other motorola phones would work on this build? Also would flashing the recovery on ROM manager for a different phone help with flashing a ROM?

Hello friends, I updated my defy 525 with these roms DEFYPLUS_U3_4.5.1-134_DFP-231_CN_SIGN_UCADEFYEMARAB1B50AA009.0R_PDS03C_USAJRDNGIBRIRD15_P015_A030_Service1FF.sbf and DEFYPLUS_U3_4.5.1-134_DFP-231_CEE_ROOTED_No_Signed.sbf. My 525 has now become defy defy 526.I know with this update it will not come back to defy 525, will always defy 526. I wonder, every time you update this rom to my defy have to defy or 526 can upgrade to defy roms 525. what should I do. thanks for listening.
You flashed an Defy + MB526 rom to Defy MB525. You cant downgrade from there anymore.

I installed Epsylon3's "[ICS] CM9.1 Android 4.0.4 for the Defy - now with 2ndboot kernels" and i was wondering what kernel should i install:
kernel-froyo-222-179-4-signed.zip or kernel-gb-234-451-134-signed.zip?
And another problem: after installing the ICS my battery drains very quickly. What shall i do? Install the "ICS Defy Red Lense Battery fix"?
Try the battery fix. The 2nd boot kernel will be fine otherwise I'd use the gingerbread or defy green froyo kernel.

i will try the fix. what kernel do you have? i'd like to install the GB version, but i don't want to have problems. i read a lot on the forum and i understood that the GB is compatible with my Defy (red lens), but what are the advantages? will it work better?
I'm using GB kernel from fixed sbf and using CM7 (maniac) and it seems a little smoother than froyo kernel. *green soc defy*
Defy red lense is basically a defy+ with a 800MHz clock speed and a smaller battery. The RL defy can use the camera on stock gb builds.

Hey
Here m in a problem
I had mb525 defy green and by accidentally I flashed it with bl7 then my camera is not working
After this I flashed a rooted bl7 stock ROM and go for cm10 2boot of quarks
My boot loader version is 9
And I want to downgrade it for cm7
When I install cm7 my camera is still dead with this
Anyone help me to get out of this

Well, I've never had to learn it but greenbread mod is something to do with it - not sure if it works for BL7 - here
Otherwise you'll have to wait for 2ndboot build of CM7 - now only from Eppy and very experimental
Can I flash the Defy XT or Defy+ ROM on my Green Lens Defy?
Someone link me?
yes you can use Defy+ roms on defy but only if it has 2nd boot.
Eg. MS2Ginger 5, CM10, CM9, Slim Bean, PAC, AOKP, Paranoid, etc.

So, no way to install the stock mb526 2.3.7 ROM?
Actually It's not urgent, as I've upgraded to an xperia Z, but my defy on CM 10 lags very very badly. Almost un-usable. So needed help :/
Don't ever try to install defy+'s stock 2.3.6 on Defy.
Read this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1216982
About SBF and CG version, if you install stock 2.3.6 on defy, you won't be able to revert back to 2.2 again, let alone many problem like camera won't work or battery stats malfunction.
If You want 2.3+ roms, use custom roms like those hackergnome suggested. (MS2Ginger was a modded stock 2.3.6 and can be used on MB525 without problem.)
Yes MS2 Ginger is the best gb rom in terms of stability!
