what YouTube should be like! - Galaxy Note 10.1 General

heya.
I'm sure some of you listen to music on YouTube every now and then!
and I'm extremly sure 90% who did were freakin pissed that when you get an email or something else comes up and you 'minimize' youtube it stops!
wouldn't it be wonderfull if YouTube had a minimize and a floating function?
Lucky there is this app "Super Video" https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=gpc.myweb.hinet.net.PopupVideo
just use YouTube and share the video you wanna watch with super video!
works fine. hope Google will improve YouTube app soon!

checking out now! I have had this issue as well haha

I use to love that app, still do, it does what you say, but it used to be alot better with youtube, the controls are pain in the ass now, for example, if you open a video with this app, a video thats stored locally (avi, mkv....), thats how the controls were like up until a few updates ago, sooooo much easier.........i hope it comes back

Nice app though with the upcoming update, stock media player will be able to search youtube videos as well. But in the meantime, this could come in handy. :good:

This thing works great on the touch. Those out there that are looking for an alternative to the tcpmp player youtube fix this may be it. Good find.
I can't get the video to play, i can that it gets loaded 100% then i see that the play button is activated but when i click on it nothing, the video doesn't start playing but the icon next to the last gets highlighted and i can click again and see the pause button but that's it.
Tried with different stories but same result, what am i doing wrong?
i love the program! ive been using it for a couple of months now and no problems. well...nini1...maybe you should go into the programs settings and see what you have checked. i put highest quality under media type and best for audio as well.(under tools and then options).
try that and see what happens.

Just un-installed and re-installed and now it's working like a charm!
yes hehe
how can i download it
guys , how can i download that program????
Is this guy promoting this thing or what?
Anyhow, it's decent, I only use it for the playlist feat, I use the TCPMP FLV bundle.

YOutube vidoes hardly play.

So I have a Hero... and at fist it had bad quality until I found out that the setting could be changed. Now, my problem is that I can only play 1 out of 10 videos I try and play, it sucks... is there anything I can do to fix it and is anyone else having this problem??
yea, alot of videos dont work from the youtube app, even more dont work from youtube via the web browser + going through the browser gives ****ty quality
lets hope htc fix this up in 2.0/2.1 when they release it with the sense ui!

i heard in 2.0 most videos work cause of flash 10?
So I need 2.0?? How do I get it?
Also, is there maybe a differnt app or program that allows me to play youtube videos that isn't the one that comes with the phone? links if any plz.
are you on the stock rom? i'm using modaco's 3.0 and haven't got any problems, either on 3g or wifi.
there might be some media player apps that play streaming videos. on windows mobile, i used to use 'coreplayer' to stream youtube videos, worked well. there's gotta be one or two on android that do this??
btw, where is the setting to change the quality?
android really needs a coreplayer i miss the youtube on that works flawlessly
*EDIT*
maybe i spoke to soon
http://forum.corecodec.com/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=2885
nice!!! android needs this!
yes.. please.. what to do.. to fix this ??
I dont like.. that we have a youtube app.. that is 1/10 working!
any one.. have ideas ??
I think Youtube are using some Flash10 exclusive coding techniques that our beloved Hero can't handle due to the Hero actually don't have a full blown Flash10 support...
This would make sense, except that before I got the hero I had the mytouch and youtube app worked great with little to no problems (I've tried it on both a stock and rooted rom on both hero and mytouch). I'm having a hard time understanding why the hero has problems with it.
I do find that sometime if I go into a task manager and kill youtube and start it again it works for a bit. It seems also that changing the quality of the video causes it to quit working too.
I must be very lucky every single video i tryed to watch worked fine with stock ROM...
Maybe is connection related...or just pure luck
They should work as if I'm not mistake the youtube player links to the mp4 feed, he may need to update his rom to the latest version which plays smoothly.

Youtube Application

Listening to music via the youtube app is great for some occasions. Except you cannot turn off screen/lock phone or via away from youtube with it playing in the background.
Is there a way this could be altered so it can be used as a multitask?
Thanks

Sorry mate, but there's no way to do this, and it makes perfect sense that there isn't. It's like asking to turn off the screen on your TV but still have audio.
You're just gonna have to accept that it's not a music player, it's a video player.
There's some great alternative music streamers or downloaders though, such as grooveshark or nanogroove.
Both are available on xda - just do a search and they shall be yours
On my LG tv I can turn off the screen and still have audio. Good if you want to have a nice relaxing film on for background noise before bedtime.
To be fair aside from the fact that it loads fast and looks sorta pretty the YouTube application is pretty damn rubbish. I wont go into detail here but Im sure most YouTube users will be fully aware of its many shortcomings as I am. I'd like to think htc will work on these before adding the functionality of allowing videos to run in the background.
incidentally if you DO want this functionality then it is available in Coreplayer. just set videos to play in the background and when you're streaming you can freely switch between apps and still hear audio.

Better Youtube Player

Please help anybody. Now the You tube player on the EVO is OK, as being a user of the Windows mobile there is a player call Kinoma play. What i liked about Kinoma play was that it played each you tube video right after another without setting up a play list or anything it just played the next video after the current one was done. Now I've search Hi and Lo and haven't seen any player that would do this on Android and the EVO. Now what I have learn is if you put videos in playlist it will do it. But here is the Problem I do not know if Google has disable this feature or not. But anytime I go to my YouTube account and click on playlist to add videos it doesn't add videos so. I'm willing to take any advice on what to do. Do anyone know an App that will play YouTube videos automatic. If not that would be a great app I would be willing to pay for it.

watch youtube and multitask?

I cant seem to find a way to watch a youtube video and do other things on my tablet such as browse the web or open up another app. Ive tried the youtube app and the website but neither let me multitask and still play a video.
Is it possible to do so?

i don't believe so
while multi tasking on android; android freezes the app in RAM till you return to it
i believe the only android device that can truly multi task ie watching youtube and emails etc is the Sprint Kyocera but thats a phone

That's the closest thing you are going to get.
Dolphin browser mini lets you have a flash app play in a background tab. Not when you switch apps though.
Maybe this app will help?

Thanks for the link to Ghosttown..that's a great app. Only one little niggle with it though....
because it takes the video from youtube, it doesn't distinguish between the album versions and the live versions....it won't filter...so when you choose an album...you could get all kinds of versions of a tune, not necessarily the proper one from the album chosen.
