[Q] Can't flash the bootloader or anything else - Acer Iconia A500

Dear Xda Members,
I have an acer iconia tab a500 like the most of you. It is rooted and it works the most very well!
But I want to install a Rom from Civato. So I tried to boot it into recovery(i doesn't work), I tried to install
a new bootloader with ,,acer recovery installer´´. Then i tried to install a new bootloader etc. with the afterota
tool(it stops at the 3rd step (taked 1 hour and more time)) Then I tried it with the apx-tool again
it stops at the step of flashing(at the screen the apx mode was activated). Manual flashing and so on doesn't
work too.
Android 4.0.3(Ota) Bootloader( Ota bootloader) recovery (ota recovery)
Because of that I want to ask you for help to install a wonderful rom
Thank you for answers.

Have you already tried another pc to flash things? On some computers flashing the iconia will not work. On my pc I can't flash anything on my a501 but on my laptop it works.

Hello I just bought the Gionee S5.5 in India. Beautiful Phone. Will these steps work for that too? There's just too much bloatware on the device and out of 2 GB RAM, about 1.5 GB came pre-installed with bogus apps that no one needs.
Any help would be highly appreciated!

Used VRoot and it rooted my phone.
2 Concerns:
1. Can we replace superuser (vroot one) with supersu?
2. Can we flash english CWM (CTR Recovery) directly using Recovery Tools? Can someone please share the img link for the same?
I can find only Chinese CWM .img file!
Thanks

1) Yes. You can replace vroot with supersu.
2) From the best of my knowledge, there is no English recovery available. We will have to wait until things move and we have the sources to kernel until we can build a custom recovery.

Search for the 4.4 (NAE) full .tar - it's here in the forums.
Flash that via PC Odin and you'll have a working 4.4 phone. If you want root you can use CF-Autoroot (make sure to grab the latest!) Thread is here too.
Then do some reading, searching and more reading. All your answers are here, really.
You're 'boot' is NOT damaged.
Just search read and you'll be fine.

Use the one from Sammobile as Daniel suggested.
But really, searching for the .tar - it's got it's on thread in the development sections http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2663619
If you couldn't find it I'd suggest practice doing some more searching.
You should be good to go.
Good luck.

Yes, temporary - write even in the section : About !
So, this will not affect your device in any way , and also you have a option for uninstall ( all scripts and twrp ) .
Edit :
As soon as Lenovo will unlock bootloader for our device, I'll make a permanent TWRP ...
Thanks for your work

Nop, after restart , the device do not enter into TWRP, you should carefully read the section : Installation .
( before run start.bat - check once again if USB cable was connected, your device is rooted and also " USB debugging" must be enabled !)
Good luck !
Is there a chance that it will work on yt2 8?
What about the 1380F? Please post the latest row firmware
Would it work on a YT 2 10" with Windows 8.1?
Best regards.

Hey mate! Nice to see you again! I got this nice device just updated to LP (What a mess..) and then I just found your TWRP release! Not sure if this works on latest LP - and I don't know what version this build nr is related to.. thx
Edit: Ok, it's not a permanent recovery. Makes sense, as Lenovo didn't unlock bl yet.. and they'll never do I guess.. remembering the Moto Razr mess, LOL
Well, you already had a look inside YT2 kernel sources? Mind to dev something? I'm thinking about something like kexec, but just an idea - I really don't know in which way this would be possible for this device.

Tethered kexecboot might work. With the bootloader locked switching kernels is not an option. Maybe someone can do like the LG-G3 and find a way to bump it....
I'm looking to get into the bios to possibly get Linux running natively.
From my LG-G3 running Jasmine8.0/Skydragon Kernel 4.2

(REQ) Samsung Galaxy A8 SM-A800I (Root) SOLVED

I've searched and tried too many methods none of them worked.
I even broke my device (soft break) while I was trying to do a root using a method for SM-A800F model, and I had a really bad day.
I couldn't restore my device using stock rom it failed on writing boot.img step (using odin).
I had to extract boot.img from the stock firmware (using winrar) then creating a new boot.tar using this tool tar-Tool_Odin3-v3.07_by_mkh.mourad to fix the problem.
I've tried too many "one click root apps" for both PC and Android (king root, Frama, mobogenie, root genius, rootx, few more) also none of them worked.
any help would be great
Thanks

I managed to get my phone rooted by following the instructions on this reply

I've got this response from RVR, But I'm not convinced that this solution will work, because the recovery is not for this device.
it's for Samsung Galaxy Alpha which has 5.0.2 android version, mine is 5.1.1.
I think he just opened androidfilehost forum and searched for A8 and got a file for wrong device:
androidfilehost.com/?w=search&s=A8
Here's the link ..
Select in the AP tab of odin
Uncheck the auto reboot button
flash
reboot straight into recovery
Try flashing the SuperSU zip .. : download.chainfire.eu/SuperSU
Keep Stock firmware handy to flash in case the zip flash fails

Were you on stock marshmallow before flashing cm13? If not, go back to stock, update to marshmallow and try to install twrp and cm13 again. There was an easy way to fix this but I cant find the link here in xda. Make sure you have unlocked bootloader.
Hey guys...I've already unbricked my phone by reverting to 6.0.1
I had unlocked bootloader but i think it didnt work or may b some problem there

This problem arises due to the fact that, you have enabled device protection on stock Marshmallow.
To remove this, just remove the Google account and secure lockscreen(pattern/password/pin) on your device and try again.
It works.
