Sick of ______________ ??? Are you leaving ?? post here to keep the forum cleaner

I've seen plenty of threads where xyz member posts that they're leaving. Some members will be missed, others, well, others = who ?? anyhow... it clutters up the forum quite a bit when members keep repeatedly posting that they're leaving. If you're leaving, please just go and stop cluttering up the fora w/ "I'm leaving because I got butt-hurt"...
Post in this thread if you're leaving so we can keep the rest of the forum un-cluttered and drivel free.

Your post doesn't help but add to the non-sense added to this forum...

Everyone just wait for official 2.3 and relax for now. New developers will arrive and make awesome roms along with some current devs. This phone is far from dead, I was using a moment up until 2 weeks ago and I had a fully functional 2.2.2.

you have 4 posts.. the "I'm leaving" threads can be consolidated into this one where people can ignore 'it' if they choose to instead of sifting through "them" to find interesting material.

You now have 5 post, 2 of which were used to troll a guy with over 600. What that tells me is the he participates in the forum, and doesn't suck it dry with needless dribble. Plus you're getting a different device anyway.
By the way, I added the 3rd thanks to the OP.

I'm leaving this forum because everyone is attacking me because this thread is useless and they won't admit it. I didn't contribute to this forum because there wasn't any development for my old phone.

DUDE the moment was defected from the manufacture why do you think their was so many complaints that led to end of the production. which we(including me and rest of smart people) got the FCC and BBB involved.
It had so many lock-ups its, data lockups to be exact and was a dangerous product.
Nothing was stable. POINT BLANK

I had no problems with my moment even gps worked properly with 2.2. I rarely had data lockups. Only problem I had was the keyboard had small buttons.

I don't get caught up on grammer and punctuation that much, but yes the Atrix forums can be a different animal from the rest of XDA at times.
For some, this is their first Android device, and seem to forget that XDA is a friendly and helpful community...

I see xda as a place for devs not a "how do I tie my shoes" help forum. There are plenty of those out there.
I agree that some take it too far then again if the admins were on top of things this wouldn't happen.

Xda has become popular. Its the source of many good ROMs. I wasn't around during the winmo days, but I assume those people were hardcore and the original flashers.
You can thank android for making xda popular via websites such as phadroid or droidheadlines or anything with the word android in it that link xda. "You can activate hspa+! But not through att but xda!"
So wheres the next xda type site so we can shove a stick up its ass?

Atrix board is a lot different than most boards. The amount of forum police here is astounding. Most people can't report and move on. They have to add a flame for some unknown reason.
Overall, we're a lot better than the epic 4g boards

While I wasn't here during the winmo days, I can say the overall discussion on this site has been nosing down toward negative. Not just in the Atrix section, but all of the sections I visit.

Well the author of this thread, if you haven't noticed, hasn't noticed the stick up arse. Have you noticed his responses, the threads he/starts, the entitlement and lack of humor. And I don't think the case was presented very well with a topic started like this. Have a nice day op.

I have no qualms with XDA as I have enhanced my devices exponentially thanks to the "services" and advice and help.
however, coming from the nexus one, and those threads, to the
atrix and its threads, I have noticed a lot more animosity and the lack of overall altruism that I used to sense.
Again, I thank xda for all that it shares and I am grateful, animosity or not, but I understand what the OP is feeling.

i feel what your saying, but not everybody on here act like that, i try to help when i can even if their new to the atrix. I've ran across a few that tried to give me a hard time when i was only asking a simple question, you just gotta put them in their place, even if you gotta snap on them, they'll learn not to mess with you.

Im on the fence here because I do come from winmo and my HTC Fuze where there was tons of help. You could say I was a flash whore back then and I did it within the 1st 24hrs of owning it because people seemed to give me clear instructions and not point me to a link that conflicted with another link or set of directions.
I now am going on a week with the new Atrix and am getting close to unlocking it with very vague help and nobody seems to take a look at exactly what I am saying or my concerns but just push me somewhere else. So I guess it is help but it seems like getting pawned off onto someone else in hopes they will give me a direct answer...
Props to XDA and its legions of devs and what you guys do but right now I feel exhausted with this phone...

why is this assinine thread getting so much attention? completely off-topic, and irrelvant to the atrix. The question is (again) where is the mods?

The possible loss of time is indeed tragic. Let's talk more about how this thread is slightly less useful than I had hoped.

Or we could discuss your intelligence, or rather lack there of. I mean really, I use my Android while driving my BMW, why not start a thread on that? The forum rules are very clear: ONLY threads listing roms, kernels, etc. are allowed here. Simple disregard for forum rules & organization. THIS is why people don't bother to read threads before asking questions, they are cluttered with nonsense. The posting rules are in place for a reason : to keep useless BS post out of the forums we go to for important stuff. Posting this was either a noob mistake or an idiotic move on behalf of the op.

Seeing how rom-devs are dime-o-dozen these days, to know Peter was moving from NS to NS4G , answers a lot of my questions, and helps me prevent wasting buttloads of time, flashing other ppls "gold"

Obviously it is in the wrong section. But I will continue to find it humorous that such a large percentage of posts in forums are about housekeeping/protocol issues. "Don't ask this question, post in this other section" etc. If these things bother you so much, you truly are wasting your time, right now, reading this post.

Yes we have a lonely mod who is somewhat of a nazi about some dumb rules he came up with. Neither of which Peter violated anyway but he still chose to lock and move his thread.

Well by looking at your post count, you haven't been around here very long and might not know the drama that unfolded in the past. In this phone's section at least, it doesn't matter where you post your topic. It will be moved and or locked by the powers that be. It might get moved within the nexus s section or it might get thrown into a completely different section of the forum on a whim. Your posts will get edited, locked, moved, deleted, etc. Even if you are a developer and make a rom, if the you know what decides that it's not supposed to be in the development section, it's gone. The (censored) is god around here and doesn't get along well with some people. Pete left probably because he got tired of the bs and being harassed by this (beeeep). Perhaps you should know a little more of what happened previously before busting in here all holier than thou. But then again, maybe you can be this persons teacher's pet since you think alike.

there was no rom posted by the op. this is simply a "head's up" about pete's upcoming rom. i personally can't wait for it.

Eventhough you have donate 100000USD to dev..It is a donate..Not a paid, salary so whatever..So..

Users should be able to mark posts as spam like on youtube and if it gets two or three times marked as spam it should be deleted. Keeping the dev forum clean would not only make things easier for devs, but also for us, if there were no ETA questions and feature requests or other spam (don't post NICE ROM DOOD, AWSUM!!! but instead use the thanks button) it'd be much easier for us to find out the ROMs bugs etc.
A note to the devs: I know I can't request anything, but keeping Post #1 up to date and include as much relevant information as possible might help keeping your thread clean but that's just a suggestion and many of you do it anyways

It just seems, at least to me, people just expect things to be handed to them and they feel that they are somehow owed something. I don't know the average age of the members here, but it may also have to do with that. I'm not giving them a free pass, but I've become kinda bitter when I see stuff like this because I've been using forums since middle school. I was that way once, but come on. How hard is it to read the OP?

To be honest. More and more users of xda is joining xda. (I've been flamed by NetChip, so i responded) Once they join, they didn't look into forum rules, didn't look into the Terms, and didn't look for Developers respects. So, you tell me. Forums for Nexus S get closed, the phones are useless, just paperweights and we all have to get a new one. Probably an iPhone, because we're unworthy of Android. Seriously, what's the point of all the whining?! Life goes on, and so does developement. Is this the first time you've seen such things happen on xda?!

He said he will release another JB rom once he is satisfied with it, which I'm cool with. The knuckleheads that kept asking the same thing over and over again didn't help either. You see it all over the place here. The answer half the time is in the op or a few pages back. But a site this popular will have many more people like that, so sadly it seems unavoidable.

Its the cycle... as a device gets older, it becomes cheaper. When it's cheaper, younger ppl can afford it. Younger ppl aren't as mature as older ppl (usually), and when they become part of the community, they bring a lot of young ppl problems.

Im okay if developers move on because of changing handphone..thats okay..such as netarchy, miui german team, steve garon ezekeel and other..thats alright..
But how about developers goes away from.xda because of forumers attitude?
Report bug without description and log in development section?
Asking ETA with trolling style?
Bump his/her own post?
How about that..?
Xda already give general sectio and Q&A section..why bother disturb development section with non development post?

All those examples suck, yes. Why do you think the 10-post-minimum was added? But to prevent it completely, you'd need a mod cleaning the threads continuously, that would be a boring fulltime-job. As for the attitudes: It takes two to tango... ^^

I agree with this post. Its like all of the members that left us for a Galaxy Nexus recently passed down or sold their Nexus S to a breed of idiots. It has never been this bad.

Guys, you can do your bit to rid the site of these idiots. The "Report Post" button has been around xda for ages, yet 99.99% of you don't use it.
Yet your the first to complain when a moderator doesn't see it.
I have a life out of xda, as do you guys. So I'm gonna miss some posts. So if you see something ****, hit report. Users Warned/Infracted/Banned job done.

It's in the 70's here in Iowa, crazy since it's almost November. Can't wait for snow though, I got really tired of the drought we had this summer.

I am planning to get one but cant decide what to look for. Tab 2 has a 4000 mAh battery. there were some with 5000 mAh capacity.
Moreover our device takes 2A at 5V for charging, anything less than that would mean a very very long time to charge.
So I would wondering if anyone has any experience with that..

I'm planning on building one with a solar charger, but that will have to wait until after I finish the Heads Up Display I'm building for my car with a Raspberry Pi.

It is one thing to report an issue and ask for support. This can be helpful and constructive.
It is completely another thing to make demands of ANYONE here. No one on XDA is getting paid for anything that they are sharing here. They do this for one of two reasons; First if you are doing any work XDA Forums are a great troubleshooting tool, even if the final goal is to turn a profit, as a user/tester you get to use their software free, its win/win man. Second you may, like me, just love trying new things and challenging what is possible even if you do not own the device, and your only reward is knowing "I did it".
When users make demands instead of useful posts it does make one feel much less like sharing. I have been a member here since 2008 but my first post was not until 2012 because between the search function and being able to make certain leaps of faith there has not been one time that I couldn't find the answer, even if it wasn't the answer I was looking for (I think of it as gaining "The Knowledge" to where I felt my opinion was valid, but that's my own hangup). To my point, I was too nervous to share anything I had created because I felt like two things would happen. It would be ridiculed and torn apart due to my lack of knowledge, and whiny "users" would rain all over my parade, pointing out the most miniscule flaw.(Never even mind, demanding that I fix it!) I personally think I have never been the first person to report a bug on anything I have tried. I assume that it is my own lack of knowledge that has led to the failure and set about trying to solve MY problem. I will admit that when reading a thread with a post reporting a problem that I too have experienced, I may chime in to report that I am in the same boat, but only if it can be accompanied by advice as to how I am either working around it, or on it. If I've got nothing constructive to add a simple click on the "thanks" button of the original post reporting the problem is enough to let most OP's know that another user shares the issue.
Please can we all just try to keep our posts constructive and honest, keeping in mind the nature of the forum which you are posting in.
The snippets that were left after Siberian Tiger cleaned up were still enough to paint a pretty terrible picture. For a short time today this was not a "Community" in any way. And users need to know that if they will not act as a member of a community they will quickly find themselves unwelcome in it.
Blah! That got too wordy, sorry. And thank you if you actually read this far. And sorry again because I know that reads condescending and I feel a little like a DB, but its from the heart. I still kinda feel ****ty, usually writing makes it better...
Love XDA, and xda users. I have seen some pretty amazing developments over the years, impossible is nothing here.

Edit: I just want to add that codeworkx latest CM10.1 with ketut.kumajaya's oc'd kernel is my best android experience yet, on any device. Book it. That's the collaborative nature I'm talkin' about! Thanks again.

I regret buying my tab 2 10.1. It's a great tablet but there's not much support on it and I could have bought the note 10.1 for a little more ;(

The note doesn't have that good of support either. Nexus is the only way to go.
