Hi,
I just got another tab because my first one was defective..
I've noticed that there was an update to the google market.. anyway
WHen selecting multiple apps to install 2-3 it used to be fast at installing..
now its very slow, takes over 1 minute + to install even small apps.

the old Market v2 could download multiple apps at the same time but the latest market v3.1 downloads 1 app at a time.. is there a way to make the latest version of the Market download multiple apps at the same time ?
No. Besides it won't go any faster for you.
Say you get 3mb/s download. You download 2 apps, 1 at a time, it takes 10 seconds at the full 3mb/s per app to download. 20 seconds download time.
Now say you were to download 2 apps simultaneously. Each App would only be able to download at 1.5mb/s. taking twice as long. 20 seconds for each app (at the same time) is still 20 seconds download time.
They reason they changed it is that on slower data connections, multiple apps downloading at the same time could actually cause downloads to time out and stop, never downloading the app like it should.
oh.. but i just prefer the old way of multiple downloads. i tried rolling back to the old market but it auto updates back to the latest after a few mins.. sigh..
When I frist got my n7, I believe it took about 30-40 seconds to boot up. As I have installed apps it has taken longer and longer.
I've cleared up a fair about of space (1.5 gig free) but it's still a slow bootup.
I've read all about google 'takes of everything' and will kill idle processes, but really I don't want to give these apps permission to start in the first place. here's an example: appsales, a neat app that will let you see what is on sale. But I want to run it when I want to run, not get notifications in my task bar '5 new apps on sale!'. I'm not saying this app is the culprit but you get my point.
From what I've read, there's no real way to stop this, task killers just continually check and re-kill the app. I just wanted to confirm, there's no way, (even with a custom rom) to have control and say no this app can never launch?
If that's true, what do others use to kill background apps.
I was going to wipe it and install a custom rom, but I bet as I install all my apps again, I'll be back in the same boat. And I've read others install their apps one at a time to find which ones are causing issues, well there must be a better way.
Remember when you first started using windows 95/98 and you discovered msconfig? It was like, 'Cool now I can stop all these freaking apps from loading at startup!'
here you go, only enable the apps you want, and problem solved. https://play.google.com/store/apps/...wsMSwxLDEsImltb2JsaWZlLnN0YXJ0dXBtYW5hZ2VyIl0.
You could go one step further and use openpdroid. You will need to be rooted on a non-stock ROM, though.
Once you have it installed, you can control a slew of permissions, including the one that allows booting at start.
On the Galaxy SIII (i9300 at least), there is a 1 to 3 seconds lag when launching either the Phone or Contacts.
I managed to find a workaround (installing JKay framework which add the option of keeping Phone and Contacts in memory so that it only has to load it once, then it's fast each time we launch it again).
But I'd like to know if anyone who has the phone could check if that still happens on the S4?
I'm guessing the problem is lesser since it now has 2Gb of RAM (so it won't get removed from RAM so often), but is it still taking a while to load when launching contacts for the first time after a boot?
Thanks !
Plus one on this.
I have the Samsung Note 1 and the contacts and phone apps also lags heavily.
I think its just the way Samsung develop the app
Same here, default contacts/dialer lags on all Galaxy S phones
Hey all, over the last month my note 4 has been sluggish when opening stock apps and downloaded apps. It is also closing apps down (which is what its supposed to do when it runs out of RAM but not a lot of apps are open). It also restarts itself every now and then (averaging every 4 to 5 days).
The stock apps it has been sluggish opening are messages, youtube and internet (dont use many but i use those 3 a lot) and the downloaded apps are snapchat, eurosport and sky sports score centre. I also use avast but that doesnt seem to run automatically anymore like it did on my note 3.
Any help would be great as it is driving me mad, I have just been putting up with it in hope that it would sort itself out or Lollipop would get released and fix it.
Hi!
Is it just me or does it take quite a lot of time to load the apps and their info in the application manager?
Can't speak for others but on my N910C the list of downloaded applications appears within 1 second, and the list populates with the app sizes in about 5 or 6 seconds. I have 130 apps installed from the Play Store and about 20 or so from the Amazon app store.
EDIT: Maybe it's slower if you have lots of large games installed, or have moved a lot of apps to the SD Card?
I see. If I scroll down immediately after opening the app manager, it begins to stutter. I have also about 130 apps installed.
Yes, there is a slight stutter if you begin scrolling as soon as you open the list - however this only lasts for the few seconds it takes to get the app sizes. I was still able to scroll all the way to the bottom of the list despite the stutter along the way. The phone never actually freezes or stops responding in any way.
Thanks for sharing! So i guess, a little bit of stutter is quite normal.
