sim network unlock pin?

Hello,
I've just installed the leaked 4.1.2 JB ROM.
The phone boots up but it is asking me for "sim network unlock pin".
I know for a fact that my phone is not locked. I purchased it from a private store and had installed 2.3.5, 4.0.3 and 4.0.4 stock ROMs of different carriers.
I even switched between two different carriers without a problem.
Any idea what I can do?
Someone told me it might be the modem file that is "confused"? Has that got anything to do with it?

Try to search the main thread, a few mentioned solution there. Didn't pay attention to the solution so not sure what it was, but I think it was an app from the store.

Thanks for replying. Most apps require root. I'm not a noob but still not an expert. Any ideas on how I get root access?

Or look at the thread about being stuck with sim lock. It is pretty active and here in general.

By the way, If I go back to ICS, installing the original carrier ROM. Will be phone still be locked?

You can get root by flashing Philz kernel for recovery. It can be flashed through stock recovery.
Not sure about rollback to ICS, but my guess it that it'll work since the problem is caused by software

I'm sorry. I guess I'm a bit excited.
At first, I was a nervous wreck. I actually thought I'm never going to unlock my phone and that I've screwed things up.
It didn't help when I rolled back to ICS and the "SIM network unlock pin" appeared either.
Eventually, I downloaded an app and paid about 2.5$ to have it unlocked.
Then, I decided to try installing JB one more time and now it works and everything is working smoothly!

install cwm then cm10 from cyanogen (cm10 jb 4.1.2 is with Root) - or another fw with Root,
then u install "Galaxy S2 Sim Unlock" from the Playstore
and u get the Sim Unlock Number

and the problem is.. i cant find my SIM Card on
so theres no Signal... works fine on WIFI...
how to fix it?

dial *#06# do you see your IMEI?
try to remove and reinsert sim card

Unfortunately there is not a lot you can do if you haven't got a back up of your EFS partition.
Before you flash ROMS on your phone it is always HIGHLY recommended to make a backup of your EFS.
IF you haven't backed your EFS up then a service centre is the only fix.

bad flash -------> corrupted efs
flash stock rom, if you are lucky, you will be ok (some users report that it works, but i doubt)
if not, you have service center

Your efs is not delected when you flash this with cwm .......install a other Rom ........the libs in the Rom are coruppted !!! Test it...

I not expressed well, .For some people when flash via CWN rom with newest baseband, baseband just wont install.Baseband need to intall with Odin.I dont know where is the problem but this is
Now i remember.I have the same problem when i was on MDC and try to install via CWM ME2 no Signal,No Wifi,Baseband-Unknow.And i try thousand of things to run all this things:good:

i really apreciate this guy... thanks for helping me.. now it Fixed with flashing a zip with odin he gaves me... now maybe this thread should be done or closed...

heyi flashed the latest firmware thru odin last night to my i9500 s4, now i'm unable to register on my network. my s4 detects my local carriers but when I click on the correct carrier, i still am unable to make phone cals and text messages.
i tried inserting my sim on another phone and its working.
i checked my imei and its different than what's written at the back of my phone... what should i do???

what Zip was it?
I actually have the opposite problem on my phone. I have IMEI and BASEBAND and I can make calls etc however my EFS folder is empty

I can see the correct IMEI BUT STILL no signal it comes how to fix?

Yours is a different issue. In your case the SIM card slot may have malfunctioned. Fortunately it's easily replaced. But you might want to roll back to stock first and see if the SIM is detected.
Finally, pay attention to dates. You revived a thread that's been dead for 7 years now, rather than making a new one.

[Q] 3G problem

i have grand prime duos sm-g530h
it was previously working well but after flashing a new stock rom my 3g connection is connected but very very low speed even 1kb/s, i tried sim card on other devices and working very well!!!
i tried flashing stock rom many times with no effect !!!!
any solution??

i donot know what is it exactly and it is removed from sammobile by a newer version which not worked also

If is not rooted, take it to service for guarantee , looks like an hardware malfunction after the update.
I'm always always, every time I have a malfunction on any device, the first thing I do is take it to service, if the problem is not related to any thing I can possibly be caused by me I send it for guarantee.

I think U didn't set the permission to rw-r-r
any way Odin your phone and flash your firmware
backup your main build.prop
Try manually method that I explained in a post

i had this problem before.....when i flashrd the indian firmeware.....thank God there is a good dev shown me a way to solve that

You need a class 10 card for the guide, otherwise it will corrupt.

Well if you don't remember what is the official firmware you can use 3 methods
1.Visit the shop or the site where you bought it and ask about the firmware version otherwise just check it in the product info
2.If by any luck you have the brand box there is a section where it mentions about the phone details
3.Last you can try many firmwares one by one unless you find the stable one which will be easily to do with Odin V3 and if one firmware doesn't work simply load another one via download mode
*Tip*I once had a situations when i installed the wrong firmware and it literally couldn't even boot into download mode with the power + volume down way so i searched for it and the solution was to simply try other button methods it took me like 10 minutes but i figured out a way you better search for it cause there are plenty ways..

S7 Edge Dual Sim , fake ROM ?

Hey guys.
I'm experiencing lot of bugs on my Galaxy S7 edge dual sim.
Some applications does not work, for example S Health, Samsung Pay.
I'm also experiencing problems, wherr I can't use SIM 2 for Mobile data. After setting it up, mobile data sometimes doesn't work.
Also few functions on side panel does not work properly.
Check screenshot in attachments, there are software informations.
Do I have official ROM ?
Or what can be problem? Is TouchWiz (or Samsung experience) so unstable? Or is it just my unique case?

You seem to use nougat rom, but still in the MM bootloader.

With my old S5 I did.
I bought this S7 edge from second hand, so I don't know what he did with the phone. He didn't tell me anything about installing custom ROM or something.
What should I do now?

/And one more question. Model SM-G935FD does not have Firmware for my country. I know it is designed for Southeast Asia and India, but .. May it cause any problems for me ? Like worse GPS locking or something. I dont think so, just want to make sure

The rom you have on the phone is for the G935F or Not G935FD version.
try installing an dual rom version instead of single rom version that may solve your problem. The G935F version will work but some apps may not work properly.

So I checked everything (BL,AP,CP,CSC) but UMS and started instalation.
/everything looks good, but I will let you know later after some using

That isn´t true my friend. I had ROM for my dual sim version (G935FD), but it was marshmallow ROM. I don´t know how it´s possible, when It was showing Android 7.0. in software informations.
