i was on cm 7.2 nightly with the old kernel...i then wanted to flash blur 2.3.6 Defy+ full sbf cause i dont wanna downgrade anymore....but now i am screwed...
after flashing i get Bootloader screen again...showing

I tried the steps in the dev section with flashing a special sbf with cg 5 in it but hat didnt work either... all i get now is a phone thats boots in bootlaoder and shows error message... no way to get into recovery mode...
I know it was stupid not to flash a clean 2.2 before doing this...
Please is there anything that can be done or is my phone gone for good...
Trying older sbf dont work either...just black screen....

Probably the one you tried was just corrupted hehe, good to see you got it sorted.
And yeah, the special Eclair SBF wont work since all these new Defy+ Roms come with CG6, and that one is CG5.

Hi, ace, I had a 2.3.6 Defy+ and got screwed too, by flashing a 2.3.4 custom ROM without being aware of the locked bootloader / no-downgrade lock.
Please, where did you find stock ROM / sbf file for 2.3.6 Defy+ ? I need it but can't find it

Look at aces kernel version...it must be the most latest sbf he had flashed..

Now my defy is on sbf of defy plus in which Camera is not working, Although I am able to root BL 7 & I am on CM9. Is their any hope to either BL7 based froyo sbf or any method to downgrade from BL7.

Try latest CMX with custom kernel - that may solve the camera problem. Battery charging is working for you?

It was astonishing for me, because I always thought, without changing the Kernel we never would be able to recognize the green lense. But with this CUSTOM ROM I can use my kamera like nothing happened. When you flash this Rom through CWM, be patient, when you reboot after flashing. It needs a long time to finish first booting. Just wait until you can see the regular Welcome screen.

Yes I can. I have no problems with charging.
My Battery always show 100% or 1% .
whats ur step for flash rom or battery fix file?
Funny thing is, that bootmenu/recovery recognizes battery status but Android system wont.

I was on rooted sbf BL 7
Install 2nd init
go to custom recovery
wipe data / cashe / dalvik cashe
install quarks rom cm10 mb 525 *** optional
reboot
install quarks 2nd boot rom with kernel
install update for kernels
reboot
flash gapps minimal ** optional
reboot .. thats it done!!!!!
Above steps worked on my mb 525 on which i had wrongly flashed mb 526 sbf (non dow) & My camera was dead for 1 month Now its fine!!:laugh:

Oh my GOD!!!! This is great news , i am amongst thousand others who committed the same mistake of flashing a MB526 rom on MB525 green lens phone and the end result a non working camera . I hope this works for me.

i made the same mistake and have bl7 on my green lense defy. unfortunately, when ein try to install quarks rom cm10 for 525 or also 526, after the update the defy only boots to the red m, not showing any animations after that an d freezing. i can reach the standard motorola boot recovery (by pressing volume down), but it doesn't reach the blue led for the custom recovery.
any ideas or tips?

Reflash stock bl7 sbf and rooted bl7 sbf. You can't downgrade due to eFuse which prevents you downgrading bootloaders. Then install Defy 2nd init 2.3 (latest version) and put Quarx CM 10 on the root of sd card.

i installed froyo 2.2 (chinese) and WIUI ROM ...
after install this rom, my defy not work on usb..
i installed app mount SD and work sd card, but not work in bootloader on rsd lite...
removed drivers usb and reinstall drivers....but no work... :S
my S.O. is windows 8 64bits...
did wipe data/cache/dalvik/battery and install CM7 defyplus and not work, but defy work....
i open bootloader work but not work on RSD LITE...not detected

Defy+ DO NOT come with froyo kernel but with Gingerbread (GB)!!! You do a forced downgrade and is very difficult to restore. You need to restore the status of internal defy usb.

You CAN'T downgrade from GB to Froyo. Must install a BL7 stock ROM (which is GB) even is necessary to repeat the operation. If stuck on boot pull out the battery, put on and enter in recovery and wipe data/cache + dalvik

HEY is not clear?!? DO NOT flash Froyo on Defy+ because this device come with GingerBread on stock and is not possible to downgrade !!!
Flash ONLY GingerBread sbf !!! and after that operation you can flash ANY custom ROM you wanna by following the tutorials!
If I understood you correctly, you tried to install CM7 defy+ while you were on froyo? It won't work cause you need a gingerbread kernel for that. If you can enter CWM just install gingerbread kernel only, to make it work. You could install CM7 that is meant for a 'regular' defy if you are on froyo though.

You are wrong. Defy+ version with gb kernel of WIUI is available.

My defy (red lense, bl 5, kernel [email protected] #1)
Is unable to boot any 2nd-boot rom.
It starts with the red m logo and blue led, which turn to red. After that the screen is black and the phone reboots after a half minute.
Is there anybody who can help me, please?

Check in the bootmenu if the boot option is in 2nd-boot
That red led means that it boots in 2nd boot already. Try to clear all caches (inc.Dalvik cache in advanced menu).

I've wiped all caches before and after I've flashed the ROM but no success. I also tried other ROMs - no boot with 2nd-boot cm10, 2nd-boot cna...
And i think, that my bl is the problem. I got it with a Chinese sbf. So is it possible to upgrade my bootloader to version 6 with a pre-rootet sbf?

If you have BL6or under, definetaly. If you have BL7 you can flash a rootable sbf

For one person I helped earlier flashing a bl7 sbf helped. You can, if you want, flash dfp 231

I can't download dfp-132, so I try the nandroid you suggested.
I restored only system. But it doesn't boot. So I flashed the 4.5.2-109-DHT 22 kernel, which is recommend in there thread of nandroid.
..... now I'm stuck at red m logo. I can only boot into stock recovery and bootloader.

Then rest you nothing else but to follow what thekguy suggested. See this. Be sure to wipe everything in stock recovery before flashing an sbf. Good luck

I've done something else ( yes i know, its not easy to help, when i doesn't make what you suggest) I flashed back my bl5 sbf, which can't boot 2nd-boot, after that I flashed DFP-1321 (bl6). Now i only have to find a method to root it...
I've tried superoneclick 2.1 but it gives error after step 7...

For the 2nd time in 3 years I have bricked my phone. I was using Cyanogen 7.2 in the past and today I have decided to try MIUI.
After a flash i was geting reboot before Android was loaded to I decided to install the base OS.
Installed RSDLite5.6 -- shashed one of the oficial Andro for version 2.2.1 I think (closed page and I don't have it in front now) and device is all dead.
I know in the past I have flashed a chinese ROM and was working again...rooted and all of that but I can't find a download link for a ROM to do this.
I am not shure how to proceed also.
Can you guys help me, it will be much apreciated.
I've got the same problem, tried to root with superoneclick, first time it didn't go through, 2nd time it went through. Phone turned off (instead of rebooting) and screen is black since then, doesn't come on....

I can't flash a custom rom now because I don't have recovery. The only thing I can do with my phone is to enter download mode.
As far as I know I have to:
- flash a new room that I can use it to boot device and work on it.
- root device and install recovery
- install cooked rom
My problem is that I don't know what to flash so that I can boot my phone --- now it is in the dead phase
You have to flash an sbf, not a ROM(that's what you will flash once you get back recovery). Read the defy beginners guide to get the steps. Basically:
Get sbf (search and download)
Get rsdlite and Motorola USB drivers
Flash it (from boot loader mode)
