what has been the biggest upgrade in android in your opinion? - Galaxy S III General

imo JB has been the best update so far.
it feels like upgrading from a 60hz monitor to a 120hz monitor while.upgrading the HDD to a SSD.

Gingerbread to ICS is the biggest upgrade i believe.

I think the biggest upgrade was from Donut to Eclair aka Android 1.6 to 2.0
Before that Android just sucks imo

Going from iPhone to android

Coming from HTC Desire with 500 mb internal storage with no App2SD and no access to the play store purchases, Eclair to Froyo was my biggest jump!

From JellyBean to Key Lime Pie.
I typed this by hand.

[Aroma]

Hi I was just wondering if there are any ROMs for the HTC tbolt with aroma.

I think a sense 4 rom was setup with it but I don't think development is going anywhere until we get an ics release.

still looks like we are playing the waiting game for ICS huh... smfh... with what was supposed to be the flagship phone for verizon when it first came out the certainly left us high n dry with the whole ICS thing...

Android 4.2 coming soon?

Thanks for the new link Chad. It sounds like project butter mixed with project roadrunner will make a speedy ui with battery life to boot. Also I like the idea of the downloadable skin for Android.

An insider told me that KLP will be into effect in as soon as 2 weeks. God I cant wait for an upgrade.

It should be green. Then the next should match the color of the dessert. So if its licorish it should be red and black

That's what I thought too. That ics was a convergence so that there would no longer be separate versions of android for tablets and phones.
Now I'm just plain confused. I thought ICS runs on phones only and honeycomb was still the standard tablet software. So maybe KLP will run on both phones and tablets?

IIRC, Gingerbread was for phones, Honeycomb for tablets, ICS for both.

ICS was a merging of phone and tablet Android into a "unified" platform.
JB was an inclusion of features which were "not yet" ready for ICS, which means that they probably were ready but just didn't make the cut in Google's case since they tend to be on the next thing by the time they show you what they do have.
Whatever the next iteration of Android is going to be, it's going to carry that same unity across both platforms the same way, as it's not likely Google would throw that away after they managed to achieve that.

New phone?

I have used the Motorola Defy since last December, I have loved and tweaked this phone since day one, but time is getting on, I run Quarx's CM10 and Its perfect but I want more, a bigger screen and more power!
What would be the best phone to get next I'm currently looking at the Samsung galaxy S3 and both the notes.
Any help?

My personal choice would be Motorola Razr or Sony Xperia Acro S. They both have enough power(to my needs). As far as I know they are bulletproof like our defy's . And I think Razr is much cheaper than S3... Hope this helps...
Not a big fan of Sony's phones, but the RAZR does look great, battery, HD and performance, but very expensive !!

Let me know what you get. I'm in the same boat. Always running out of storage space on my Defy running CM7.2.
Good luck.

I remember CM7 good old days, I never thought we would get JB and I'm worried we may not get key lime pie! Which is why I'm considering the upgrade. The note 2looks great, big screen and fast. Has anyone tried any other phone and thought "Damn" or "Niceee"

Might as well wait a week for CES and see what kind of phones (and specs) are going to be the norm in 2013. A 1080p screen and 2gb RAM are going to be the new high end benchmark. Sony Xperia Z (1080p, 2GB, quadcore) is rumored to be releasing in Jan itself. And when more phones with similar specs come out, the current crop will likely get cheaper.

Hmm...In Uk Razr is cheapest phone amongst Xperia and S3... Razr Maxx is quite expensive, but i dont think it is worth extra money. Razr i is more than enough for me and it costs about 330£(+-400€)... Thats would be my personal choice, and i know that that would last me for another 3 years, same as defy...
I guess the RAZR is cool, and will last a good few years, hard decision to make
