Ics 720p Video Recording can fix???
Switch to the Synthetic AOSPx ROM, and ensure you have the Grapefruit kernel. It is the best (I'm pretty sure it's pre-installed). That will give you true 720p HD Video Recording.

Doesn't Sense give you full 720p? Try Glacier One V 1.3 ROM by garleest.
Can I use the grapefruit kernel on Mimicry?

Did camcorder resoultion is depend on the kernel if yes I assume that is cracked - can we make 1980x 1080 is bearly 2 mpx and sensor is 8 mpx
For which ROM? I got 720p. On the ROM I am running.

Unfortunately you'd be lucky to get 2-3 fps at full resolution, the processor couldn't handle that many calculations at once, I doubt the SD card could store that fast enough either

Me too...but sound lags for me!
sound lag is killing me!
720p is the highest supported resolution from the CPU.which means even of the kernel was cracked the CPU couldnt encode video of that size
Is the quality better on sense roms or cm roms ?
I know sense re less in 3pg while cm recording in mp4.
Does this matter ?

hi im gonna buy a defy + and i need to know if defy + with CM9 rom or CM7.2 supports 720p video!
and the other is ... what's the best rom of CM9? quarx , epsylon , jordan?
thank you for you patience!
defy/defy+ doesn't support 720p recording except on MS2GINGER . there will be stable ICS ROM likely in a month,or you can try the nightlies.

Yes, MS2Ginger allows 720p recording but it's useless because of low framerate ~15fps.
Best balance between high enough resolution (848X480) and decent framerate (24fps) is in WIUI ROM by Wajk.

Well I've been a long time MIUI user so didn't knew that!
But anyway the point is, framerate is more important than resolution for a decent video experience.

You can get 720p only on Moto ROMS like the following:
Walter79's MS2GINGER
Prasanna modified blur ROM
I was on base 1321-asiaretail and both these ROMs worked well.
As far as the usability of 720p of these ROMs I am not so sure because I dont use it and have not compared it with my digicam.
I'm looking for a Rom that take picture with high quality picture and video, coz I will need it to record my school band performance.. any Rom to recommend?

I found that using Cyanogen Mod 7 + the high quality audio patch gave really good video results. If you don't like the standard camera app then I'd go for a Sense rom.
But if your going to be filming and taking pictures in low light then the camera on this phone will not cut it.

Tbh take your pick from anything not ICS, Virtuous's roms, Insert Coin's rom? Up to you really, aslong as they are gingerbread they shouldn't be slow.

Drivers, I suppose, or the Camera app isn't optimized for it. That's just me guessing. I do agree though that the image quality from GB/2.1 Sense ROMs are much better compared to 3/3.5 or even ICS ROMs. I'd go for Virtuous Sense 2.0. Tried that back then. It wasn't perfect, but with a few tweaks here and there (Supercharger Script etc.) I got it running smooth and stable.

I briefly tried to replace my camera /system app a while back but never go it to work, then when I put the old camera app back in pressing the camera button to launch it wont work anymore. Eventually reinstalled the rom (cm7).
I'm talking abt sense based rom..

Hi,
I tried a lot of roms since i have my HD2 (just love it)
I really like the way ics looks and feels but i dont like the camera cause the camcorder has lower resolution.
Is their a ICS Rom with a Camera which can do 800x480 in recording and 4MP Widescreen Photos??
Thx for the help in advance
Sent from my HTC HD2 using xda app-developers app
so it can only take 640x450?
Well at the moment i am using a GB rom where i can do great 800x480 videos but in the IC S roms i've tested so far i only got 640x480.....

I'm not 100 % sure, but i think there is a fix for ICS which enables the camcorder to record 720p video.
I'll dig up the link and post here.
As for 4 MP shots, just crop the image
i think this is it
