Hi guys.
Huawei is going to release official ICS for Huawei u8800 (non pro)? If yes so please ETA? Or Huawei never release official ICS?
Thanks for the replies
The normal Huawei U8800, or Ideos X5, will not receive an official ICS update. It has not been announced, nor will it ever be. Sad, really.

So huawei u8800 (non pro) will not have official ICS.
Got it in one, it does not even have an official supported gingerbread technically. B528 was the just last one they got to before canning it and saying they were not going to do anything else to this phone. B528 still has showstopper bugs on many phones. I think U8800pro only got ICS because it shares a fair bit of hardware with the G300 so kernel, baseband etc was quite compatible.

Guys over at modaco just helped dump a softbank blade with official 2.2. Thats great news for us!

Think the only way they have got it working so far is with the beta kernel so far
official kernel source for froyo released
Hello,
I wonder if anybody tried running Huawei Ideos X5 8800 ROM on Huawei u8650 device.
Do I brick my Huawei u8650 device if I try to load and run Huawei Ideos X5 8800 ROM on it?
Thank you.
Curious; why do you want to?
Assuming that we are talking about the Huawei stock ROMs, as the U8650 runs 2.3.3 (Gingerbread) and the U8800 runs 2.2.1 (Froyo), you would be going backwards.
Unless you mean customised ROM on the U8650. AFAIK no one is working on a port to the U8650, although I may be wrong.
Given that they use different CPU's (with differing ARM instruction sets ARM6 vs ARM7), different GPU's, different screens and different phone controllers, I think that the likelihood of success without a specific port is low.
do u know how to customise rom for U8650???
HTC has announced they will release soon an ICS update for some devices... maybe there will be a chance to have a stable and fully working ROM for our beloved HD2
HERE THE NEWS

Hey guys, many ROMs for u8800 are stable
Don't
Like the kind people above have said, don't get it.
Even though it has official ICS update, the chances of huawei fixing the bugs in the official update is very slim. While with U8800, you have Aurora ICS. And, I must say, it is an amazing ROM and DZO will be back to start developing it again (read the last few pages of the Aurora ICS thread).
Thanks.
I've had my u8800 pro for about 4 months now and I haven't had absolutely any issues or bugs with the phone. First I used the official gingerbread (which worked flawlessly) and then installed kalo's 2.3.6 rom just to get some extra customization and smoothness.
I'm still happy about getting this phone and it is excellent for it's price. I recommend.

MIUI v5 exists in 2 versions, the official MIUI version based on touchwiz 4.1.2 and a 4.4 port (I think it's based on SlimRom). The port isn't on a Samsung base so it lacks touchwiz specific features such as the multiwindow etc.
The latest version for the Note 2 of MIUI v5 is 4.8.8. (LINK). Due to the release of MIUI v6, support for the Note 2 will be stopped after 4.8.8, so it will be the final version of MIUI v5. The official statement says:
Official Xiaomi statement:
MIUIers, we hope to focus on improving MIUI based on Android 4.4 in the future, so we've decided that MIUI V5 update for the following devices will be stopped after MIUI 4.8.8: i9100 / i9300 / MX2 / Note2 / HTC OneX / Find5 / HTC One / Nubia Z5S(mini). It's really a tough decision. If the above devices get Android 4.4 from the original factory in the future, we'll consider supporting them again. Hope you understand. Thanks.

Since 4.4 has been available for the Note 2 for quite some time now, the above explanation sounds a bit weird. Rumors are that MIUI v6 will use 4.4 touchwiz as a base. We will see on the 16th of August, the date on which MIUI v6 will be revealed, it should be available shortly after that for flashers.
Hope this helps, I can't wait for the reveal
Yup eagerly waiting to get the touch of miui v6 on note 2 based on tw... Let's hope for the best..
