Hi. I have some problem with sound output. Phone think, that i plug in earphones, and don't play any sounds, except sms, rings and alarms. Hard reset didn't help. After hard reset it work correct until reset. I try disconect minijack from motherboard, but it doesn't help. Can somebody tell, which pin need connect, to normaly play sounds?
Hey, I have exactly the same issue. Phone thinks that audio jack is still in. Only hard reset via diagnosis menu works. I even flashed a 7.8 rom and still get nothing.
Anything we could do? Maybe somewhere in diagnosis or in registry we can reset audio settings?
UPDATE:
I've done this so far:
1. Went to Diagnosis -> *#0002*28345# - Focus Audio Control Utility.
2. In the row of cells I had
1 1C 74 4 23 9D 9B 12
Click to collapse
instead of
1 1C 74 4 23 9D 95 12
Click to collapse
(according to Samsung focus Wiki page "95" is the default)
3. As I pressed "Write" I got the sound back, but on very low volume.
4. Reboot... Nothing again.
5. Back to Focus Audio Control Utility, changed audience.cfg to "On". Again I got the sound, but on very low volume.
6. Reboot... It's working! .... but only for a couple of seconds (until something boots I think). Back to silence.

Use the dpad left and right to change the Sprint TV volume.

also under HKLM/SOFTWARE/SPRINT TV there is a registry entry for volume
up it to 100 (any higher doesnt make a difference) and you will notice it gets louder, (that may not be the exact location above, i dont have my device on me ATM so im going from memory)
Thanks. I've tried both sugestions (d-pad while in player and the reg key) and neither seemed to increase the volume at all. It just seems very soft. I guess I was expective the volume to be close to that of windows media or the phone speaker.
Reg: I found 2 keys...
HKLM\\Software\SpintTV\Volume=20. Changed to 100 with no change.
HKCU\\Software\SprintTV\Volume=60. Changed to 100, no change.
Make sure both the sliders on the volume control are max and you'll get more volume whether it be ringer, music player, etc.
One seems to do front speaker the other back speaker.
Since it changes ringer volume too, you got to turn it back down when you're done with tv etc.
Seems to me they should be independent but that's how it works.
THAT DID IT! Thank You! Man I love these forums. WM is so 'obvious' sometimes. ??
Also note...
1. I changed the Reg Keys back to their defaults (HKLM\S.W.\SprintTV\V=20, HKCU\S.W.\SprintTV\V=60).
2. Made sure both Device and Phone Vol @ max
3. Went into Sprint TV and Tested the volume. On enter it was low. I increased it with the D-Pad. MAX Volume was achieved. Nice.
4. Went back into the reg key and the HKLM path had moved from 20 to 100on it own. So it looks like the d-pad is directly moving the "HKLM\S.W.\SprintTV\Volume=X. Haven't seen the HKCU path update. So I'm going to leave that one at default of 60.
Thanks again. You guys rock.
When I installed 6.1 Rev A on my phone and downloaded the sprinttv.cab the issue with the low volume went away.
Love the phone but I think the audio volume output is totally junk.
Has anyone used *#0002*28346# - Audio control utility. or somethign similar to boost audio output on the audio jack?
Which audio output would this apply to? Or there just one? My Focus doesn't act like there's just one control.
Audio output level of the Zune player is definitely very low for me. Audio output level for the phone (ear) is just 'OK', but the speakerphone is very loud. Even if I turn it down to zero I can still hear the conversation. So strange.
... well I just went through that diagnosis screen and couldn't make heads or tails out of it. If anyone happens to figure that out, and determine if we can boost audio output from the headset jack that would be much appreciated!
I am specifically talking about the headset. I think the focus breaks it down like this: headset, speakerphone, earpiece.
Like you said, speakerphone is fine, if not too fine.
Earpiece is barely controllable while the headset (3.5 mm jack) is god awful.
There is currently a WP7 bug that causes game audio to impact audio on the phone. For example, if you are playing a game and you turn audio down to 15 (50%) and then exit the game, the highest volume level you can reach on the phone is 50%. Even if you then turn the volume up to 30 (100%), you are actually getting a level of 50%.
If you are encountering this problem, you'll notice that rebooting your phone will cause earbud/headphone volume to increase dramatically. An easier way to work around it is to go back into your game (any game with audio) and turn the volume back up all the way. If you then exit the game, audio levels should be good.
Microsoft is aware of this.

Interesting, thanks for the heads up!
I've tried *#0002*28346# but I don't know how to enhance the sound.
The sound is terrible in Focus.
Is there any way to install HTC Sound Enhancer? HTC HD7 it's much better volume in earphones.
I went to *#0002*28346#. Clicked read. Set system, class, and device gain to 10 (was 5 allthough some report it was 7). Volume was much higher via the headphone jack. I then read this thread regarding the game volume problem. I went into a game and put the volume all the way up. Went back to play audio via the zune hub. Volume was back to the low volume that it was originally at. I went back to *#0002*28346# and sure enough, The values reverted back to 5. So it appears the games are setting those values back to default every time you change the volume from within a game. I will have to test again, going into a game and not changing the volume to see if that too will reset it to default.
Do you guys mind complaining in this thread ..http://social.answers.microsoft.com...ad9-5e12-465d-a0fb-b9465179b436?prof=required
MS is still not taking any notice. It is kind of appalling to see such a nice phone as the Focus and Omnia suffer under such a silly bug.
Thanks Denis!!!!
It worked!
1 - PLUG YOUR EARPHONE
2 - ##634# TAPE CALL
3 - in diagnosis mode tape *#0002*28346#
4 - click GET on Device Gain
5 - in 'device gain' leave number 5, set 1500 (max) and -1100 (low)
6 - click set
7 - MAKE SURE AUDIENCE.CFG IS ON
reboot your phone (turn off, turn on)
Hi.
I wanted to change some audio-settings (e.g. camera shutter) and so I decided to use the sound tuning options offered by the diagnosis menu (*#0002*28345#). Big mistake...
I guess, I accidentally pressed the write button with my ear while testing the loudness of the front speaker, and so i overwrote the hexadecimal code with "0" :/
I noted the default values before the changes for the preset "7" (did not know that "7" is a preset, guessed it would be just another value, so I don't have the values for the other presets).
I tried to restore these settings for so many time and searched &read many related topics, but no success :/
Front speaker is working during calls, strangely A2DP is working, sometimes headphones, but the rear speaker is "dead". Damn
(I didn't hardreset yet because: 1st, I would like to keep my data and 2nd, I read many times that these settings are not restored during a hard reset and wouldn't solve the problem. However if I can't find a solution I'm going to hard reset it...)
My current settings:
Hex-Code: 1 1D 7D C2 22 5F 5F 12
Preset 7
System Gain Attenuation: 7 110 0
Class Gain Attenuation: 7 0 0
Device Gain (max/min): 7 1200 -500
Preset 2:
System Gain Attenuation: 2 0 0
Class Gain Attenuation: 2 0 0
Device Gain (max/min): 2 600 -1600
Preset 5:
System Gain Attenuation: 5 137 700
Class Gain Attenuation: 5 0 24
Device Gain (max/min): 5 400 -1100
Would be so glad if anyone would be able to give me an advice what to do.
Thanks a lot
Maybe a EPROM reset or alike may help
But I dont know the code for EPROM reset
Hi Bernhard005,
Do you find a good solution to your problem ?
If yes let me know, i have exaclty the same problem :/
Thanks,

============
I have tryed to find some hex code to put in the "Sound Tuning" of my Omnia7 (ok i speak french sorry, so i speak english like a cow lol)
1 - 1C - 74 - 4 - 23 - 9D - 95 - 12
*is actually my code but i have no sound on the back speaker, front speaker ok in a call and when i try => THIS = the tip to INCREASE the volume of back speaker, i have the same problem with the hex code blue :/
1 - 1D - 7D - C2 - 22 - 5F - 5F - 12
*no sound don't work at all, the divice blocking during listen to music or press up/down volume button
So now i m still looking for anothers HEX-CODE - PLS HELP ! ! !
To get your HEX-CODE in the Sound Tuning:
•Enter the phone dialer
•##634#, tap Call
•Enter code: *#0002*28346# (work for me) or *#0002*28345#
•Tap: READ
•PUT THE HEX-CODE HERE on the FORUM
•AND TO GO BACK TO THE HOMEPAGE OF YOUR PHONE JUST TAP: Home-Windows button ( ok i think you know that ) ;-)

Well i guess i speak to fast, the blue hex-code crashs too the phone when i try to listen to a mp3 :/ and/or taps keys volume :/ it's a mess, big one lol !
Ok, just a HARD RESET and now speakers back and head are back.

I had a problem with my call audio being too low and my other device audio (games, sound effects, ringtones) being way too high. I used the config options found in this thread to fix it.
It works great, but the only problem is whenever I make or recieve a call, the options reset and I'm back to having out-of-whack audio again. I have to go through the diagnostic code again and then reboot the phone to get it back to how it was before the call.
Obviously not ideal. Anything I can do? If I leave it as it is, even having the device volume at 1 is very loud, and anything above 10 is extremely distorted.
Anyone experienced this?
strange
have the same issue when playing music on zune.. volume output stays low no matter how high it displays

That actually does help the issue (it doesn't reset when i make a call anymore) but games and music are now too loud even at volume 1. That's how it was when I first got the phone, and the reason I messed around with the device gain in the first place
So I've had this tablet for about a couple of months, and the sound was fairly loud. However, after I decided to factory reset the device, the sound became considerably quieter. I tried listening to some music but it was barely audible. This is also happening with touch sounds, notification sounds, etc. I have to put my ear right next to the speaker in order for me to hear the sounds. Is there a possible fix for this problem?
s,
hi, did you expand volume panel to check all volume sliders?
click the setting icon, you have three sliders
notifications, media and system
alternately, plug in ear phones then unplug, that works sometimes.
I had slightly opposite problem after a factory reset on this tab, the sound was too loud, crackling speakers.

I checked all volume sliders and they are all at maximum volume. I tried the earphone thing, but it didn't work. Is there anything else that I could try?

s,
The only thing left i can think of is in running factory reset you broke maybe a scipted/configuration between
kernel and module, or something written back into /data after reset is carrying the wrong setting, [configuration file]
Look at accessibility section in settings for a sound boost option, you may need to use samsung services to download/deploy
additional accessibility applications. Install a custom recovery and make a backup of your system as it is before you do anything else.
Make a backup to external card as well. There are a few repacked stock roms for flashing via recovery, try one of them out.
