Hi everyone I'm new to nexus 7
I have unlocked BL and root installed cwm and i have just updated to SmoothROM-v3.2 via too.I'm but I have a problem that has occurred I can't download anything via any browser or even attachments via xda please can someone help

Same over here.I am running stock android (unlocked, rooted, cwm).
And i can't download anything from a custom app or browser (chrome doesn't work either)
But I've figured out that by changing the download directory to storage/sdcard0 you can download anything you want. But you can only do this with opera or dolphin browser. In my case I can't even delete my files (except for files located in storage/sdcard).I tried it with my computer but it didn't work either.I am also getting error message 492 in the play store.
I tried everything (delete (dalvik) cache, reset my system etc.) but it didn't helped.
I am also having a download issue. It seems like ever since I updated to Smooth Rom 7.8 via Goo Manager (might be coincidence) and now I can't download from Goo (I get "errored download") and when I try to download from a browser it says "unable to download". I can download apps via Play Store w/ no issue. I think it may have to do w/ permissions? or path issues? Also I restored back to when everything was working and now the issue follows. Anyone?
I also flashed smooth ROM.But now i'm on stock again and it didn't helped.I also noticed that i only can't download huge apps propabally because they need to save data on your sdcard.(with small apps like angry birds i have no problems). So it definetldy has to do something with permissions and path issues. But i have no idea how to fix that.Any ideas?

Hi all,
I was trying to install AccuWeather for Honeycomb and it's stuck at download.
I can no longer able to install any additional apps successfully (everything was working fine before I tried to download this app).
Killed Market services, reboot did not get rid of this continue AccuWeather download stuckiness.
I have CWM3.1.0.1 mod by solarnz installed with Primordial 3.1 rooted
Not sure if ths is the solution, but some have had luck with clear data for DMClient, Download Manager, Downloads (in Running Services view).

Hi,
The download stuck over night, definitely should not take that long.
Also, I should be able to download and install additional apps in parallel. In my case, additional apps completed download, but always installed unsuccessfully.
Any way, clear cache and force close of Download and Download Manager got rid of this problem.
Some thing is not quite right about my TF and Accuweather for honeycomb app - I tried it again today and it sure stuck again
I can't install it either, and I get the same thing with Pinball HD, I'm thinking it has something to do with the large size of the app.
That is my conclusion as well. I am having the same issue with Accuweather, Pinball HD, and Battleheart. I've tried the various fixes out there: The GTalk sign in method, symlinking the market cache directory to a directory on the SD card. All to no avail. Anyone have any other cogent ideas? I'd really like to be able to use these apps since I paid for them and all (ok, not Accuweather).
Hey everyone, joined xda today in hopes of finding a resolution to a problem I've been having. I'm running cm7.0.3.1 and for some reason, I can't download any files using the browser. I've tried a few different types of files to no avail. I get either a .htm file or it simply says "download unsuccessful" in download manager. Clearing caches didn't help nor did opera mobile. The market still works fine and so do any in-app downloads. What could the cause be? Any help would be appreciated...
Try firefox, it's download manager is different then the others.
Do a quick reboot. That happens to me every so often, that normally fixes it.
Firefox didn't work either, download started but wouldn't actually download, even on wifi. I rebooted a few times, after Mozilla installed, and after clearing caches. I'll keep searchin' and tryin' though
odd..I don't have a clue..try tehs suggestion or reflash cm..odd really odd. Never had a problem..
install a better Rom..lol
Try downloading astro file manager. After download go into app and click menu then more then preferences. Go all the way to bottom and there is a check box that says enable browser downloader. Try that and see if it helps you. Before when I had a similar problem this fixed it.
Edit...I am also running cm7.

Linda file manager also enables that function by default. Search in android market.

Nothing was working... For now I'm on kings alliance ROM which is downloading files fine with the browser. So it's all good.
I have that problem too on Synergy. I am trying the Linda manager thing....hoping it helps

Hey guys Im having some issues with my mt4g. Every time I try to open apps like facebook or twitter it says "An error ocurred while loading this page" and gmail says No Connection. Even if Im on wifi its the same. I have a nand backup from a couple of days back and even if I restore it its no use. Can still use the browser though.
I have been using LCDDensity for Root app and Root Explorer but only used it to search for something. I do not know if it has something to do with the problem.
Please help.
Try uninstalling Facebook and then install it again from the market, not a backup. It sounds to me like you may have corrupted the android_secure data. That is where the system manifest of what apps are allowed to access is located. These permissions are not the same as file system permissions. These are the list of things you are shown when downloading some thing from the market, like hardware permissions: read/write sdcard; or full internet access.
If the reinstalled app works, then I would think that all installed apps will have issues.

Was going to try that but the Market was having problems too. So I reflashed the ROM and everything is working fine for now. Thanks anyway.

I had a similar problem but my apps were force closing like the contact and phone and one game re flashing fix it tho
So I've seen this error coming up in many forums, mostly people advice a factory reset, reflash of the ROM or something else. As far as I know this solution has not been posted in any other forum(please correct me if I am wrong). Now, this error usually happens to me when I've installed the app before, uninstalled it and I'm trying to install it again(or) when I try to install a paid app from the play store I get an error (-24) or the insufficient storage error. All these errors have the same solution. I've tested it on the HTC One, Note 10.1 and the S3.
Ok here's the solution(I take the app Modern Combat 4 as an example here). I also assume that you are rooted.
1.) Download the app Root Explorer or Root browser or any other similar app from the play store.
2.) Next in root explorer go to /data/data.
3.) Look for the package name of the app you're installing. Eg. For MC4 com.android.gameloft.ANMP.GloftM4HM.
4.)Delete the package.
5.)Try installing the app now, it SHOULD install.
Note:If it still doesn't work for you, go to /data/dalvik-cache and try locating the file and delete it.
I hope I helped someone here because when I had this problem it pissed the s**t out of me and I couldn't find any real help. If it helped you please press the thanks button!!

Hi!
I have a Nook Color which was Modded with CM7 (on internal memory) when i bought it here in Germany. Everything was fine until all of a sudden downloads from google playstore did'nt work anymore. I tried to live with that because i used the nook mainly for watching films and got most of the apps i was interested in already.
Now i decided to get rid of this problem. I wrote back the B&N Stock Image to the internal memory to get rid of the CM7. Everything went fine and B&N Stock was running well and i registered. After that i installed a bootable linux together with CM10.1 and Google Playstore inside Zip Archive on my 32GB SD Card.
The device booted 2 or 3 times and there it was - the new CM10.1 Stable (Android 4.22)
I gave him all informations about my google account and everything went good.
But i still don't get anything out of the Playstore. The Device was supposed to re-load all previous installed apps, schould synchronize and i tried to get a new (free) app.
It just says downloading and after a while it just says error downloading xxxxxx.
Wifi Access is running good an i have no probs downloading other stuff.
What can possibly be wrong?

Those are the correct files.
Since you have this problem on both CM7 on emmc and CM10.1 on SD it sounds like a Play Store issue.
Let me describe how Play Store works and maybe you can diagnose the problem yourself. Play Store, after you log in and select an app to install, downloads the apk file and temporarily stores it on your device until it gets installed. On older versions of Play Store it downloads the file to /cache/download. On newer versions it downloads it somewhere else. I think either in /sdcard/Android or /data/data. But in any case I think Play Store is having difficulty storing the apk wherever it usually is stored.
Edit: The downloaded apk gets put in /data/data/com.android.providers.downloads/cache as downloadfile.apk
You might check to see if you have that file location.

Tried to download small game - no success. :crying:

No, not on sdcard. On /data. (Using your root file manager on the device itself, not from the PC).

Ahhh - i see.
This location does exist on the device - but there is nothing in there. (we knew in advance...)
the rights are: drwxrwx--x
I guess that's how it should be.
Any suggestions?

on the SD card (were the android system is located and also the subdir) there is 26,64 GB free.
btw: I read that hangout (ex google talk) must be installed to be able to download anything from playstore.
so they suggest if you cannot install any apps from the playstore the solution ist to install the hangout - app. But how can i install the hangout-app when i'm not able to install any app? :silly:
So i searched and found it for direct download - installed - fine !
I started it and it says that it will run only if i update google play service - which also cannot be installed because.... wtf...

edit:

installed it - started it - it says there are no apps connected to my account (????)
tried to start hangout again - still needs ti update play services ..... which doesnt work of cause......
need to go to bed - tired - its 1:30 AM over here...
