hey guys. I recently got my nexus 7 and today I rooted it, flashed the 4.1.2 version, restored my apps and changed the DPI to 160 to experience the tablet UI. after I did that, I noticed that I have these edges on the left and right side of the app drawer. I thought it could have something to do with the stock launcher, so I got the Apex launcher, but the problem is still there. could anyone tell me how to solve this?
since I cant put links to images here, you can see how it looks in the attachments (notice the empty edges on either side).

I flashed the Cyanogen 6.1.2 last night, everything went fine. I was previously using Sprint Lovers ROM.
This morning I used MyBackupRoot to restore apps and data, etc. I n00bishly restored my home pages too. But since Cyanogen is not a sense based ROM, I guess that was a mistake. So now my launcher down at the bottom doesn't have anything connected to it and I can't figure out how to get the app drawer connected back to one of the bottom launcher buttons... Sorry if I have mixed up some terminology, etc. This is my first Android phone, had it for a couple of weeks - lots to learn...
TIA
EDIT - ok, figured it out. I made a custom shortcut that opened/closed the app drawer, then dragged that shortcut onto the launcher bar button...
Hey folks, i have stock samsung galaxy s4, and i installed awd launcher, and only use 3 tabs (or how you call it), but now it seems when i put a wallpaper it cut off a bit from the wallpaper on the right tab and in place of that cut off bit, it's a black space.
Is there a way to solve this? btw i also installed wizardrii, but still same problems.
Cheers.
NVM, i found out i had to uncheck wallpaper hack now it's perfect!
Howdy...
I have a stock Asus Nexus 7. After installing 4.4.0, I really liked the new Google Launcher with the 'swipe left' for Google Now.
Like the original launcher, I still had 6 icons across on the new Google Launcher. 4.4.1 was fine too...
However, yesterday, I received the OTA update for 4.4.2. Now the same Google Launcher only has 5 icons across the home screen, which is much worse...
Anyone know how I can get 6 across back without downgrading?
Thanks!
Best,
Ben
As with everyone else I suppose I've updated my Nexus 4 to 4.4.2 and installed GEL and the new Search .apks
One question I have is this though, as I'm still using Apex Pro at the moment (as I've paid for it I thought I'd still use it!) with the Transparent Notification and Bottom Bar, can anyone tell me what the wallpaper dimensions should be for when I edit my photos to fit nicely!...
I've noticed some of my old wallpapers I used under JellyBean are not reaching the bottom of the screen and cutting off half way through the Button Bar!!!
Cheers

I have installed the Google Launcher (from Nexus 5) on my Nexus 4, 7 and 10. It seems to work fine on my Nexus 4 (though it clearly not optimised for it, not surprised of course) but I'm finding most of my widgets and some icons have disappeared on my Nexus 7. I spent quite a while setting up quite a few home pages but since then a lot of the pages have completely disappeared and some icons have gone. Also, I'm trying to drag Google Play to the bottom icon line but disappears as soon as move away from the home page and back again. Folders appear OK though.
Anyone else experiencing this? I'm wondering if there is a newer version of the launcher? I can't find anything other than the one originally released.
I'll return to the original launcher on my Nexus 7.
