Jb updates for India official

Samsung called for jb update.
It's true I too got a call twice as once it disconnected, FROM NCR. I asked is it a prank. The guy told they are doing survey even asked what i like the most on s3 and what's missing, but strangely they told me I am running J B Although i lied when they asked to press*#1234# and give details. No one is lying here, maybe Samsung knows India is the best market for them as we indians don't use cheap china duplicates.

Its the truth even i received the call and i posted abt it in that thread we are getting calls in india from Samsung abt feedback of the phone
And india s3 is a huge market in my college alone we have more than 40 s3 handset and most of my friends received the call but it was abt feedback abt the phone

The one the has a big "X" or the S-Curve ones are ok. I've used them on all of my phone I bought this year. I use them until something better comes out.

For those that have gotten them, is it 7100 or 7105?
In the description it said 7100, but also said LTE, which was confusing and contradictory since 7100 does not have LTE.
Reason I ask is 7100 is supposed to be high volume device with better dev support. 7105 might have better resale value because of LTE support in some markets

It's the N7100. All of his answers to questions made it fairly clear. No LTE with this bad boy. Also no LTE in the states with the N7105 model either.

My house was robbed, Nexus 7 and a bunch of electronics taken

I want to find out who did this, among the things stolen was a rooted Nexus 7 with Lookout. Any suggestions of how to find my stuff would be greatly appreciated.

I'm guessing you didn't have an antitheft app? You could try lookout plan b; installing it remotely. But that's assuming the thief hasn't tampered with the device.

Yeah...hate to say...but any thief with half a brain that steals a phone or tab would shut it off immediately, knowing they have GPS and might be a chance they're tracked.
Guess not all thieves are smart tho.
..actually, probably most are running around a few short of a dozen!

Not to be a negative Nancy....but if he, or his associates know android....device will be off, or at least GPS off....or device wiped.

I doubt the police are gonna put you on their priority list and try to track your electronics with high tech methods. No content/house insurance???
May wanna look into that before you get new stuff....serious. I'd have all my stuff replaced with new and probably better stuff for 500 bucks. (My deductible )

Lookout has tracking features but it might be a premium feature. I really don't know.

I heard of a story of a thief in Salt Lake that stole someone's iPad. Suddenly, pictures started showing up in the original owner's iCloud because the perp had been taking pictures of himself with the iPad. A local police officer recognized the perp and they arrested him. In other words, not all criminals are smart. Do you have anything setup to automatically upload pictures taken with the tablet to any cloud service?

You can still install plan b to it. Of your account is still linked to it.

I don't think Its a premium feature, op go into the lookout website and try your luck, you may just get lucky but speed is of the essence. Good luck

Actually it's not a premium feature, and I think it works with GPS off too (I think WiFi does the trick here). Login to your account in your PC browser (hope they haven't taken that too!) and try to locate it. Hopefully the thief (or thieves) is (or are) dumber than we are thinking he (or she or they) is (or are).

Oh and I can tell because I have Lookout installed on my N7 and I just looked through it right now.

I've been trying to track through lookout but.it hasn't.been turned on.

Did you try that feature before your tab got stolen? If not, there is a high possibility that's not going to work.

it did a ping at 7:45am on the day it was stolen before the battery died. It was off and on the charger when everyone left for work and school the robbery happened around 10am we think.

Updated this afternoon couple of hours back. All seems good as of now.
s-pen offset/ alarms with magnetic cover and battery consumption

The baseband is MI1, even in your screenshot.

From what I have gleamed, the first three have to do with device & region. The US & NA WiFi 5110 release are always "XXx". The following are versions, MH2, MI1, MI2, etc...

It was suppose to roll out today and should be done by the next "10 days"

I thought sprint was first in line? I understand Samsung has already sent out the Ota to the carriers, but I think the carriers have to "rebloat" kit Kat as well..... I did hear that the update will start going out today also but I think sprints first in line.

Wasn't Sprints announced and rolled out a couple days before the announcement from samsung? It was only announced on the 18th that other us carriers would get it as well.
I'm hoping AT&T gets it soon

I am very certain according to news reports on tech sites and the topics started here last week that Sprint's rolled out last week. As far as I have read Samsung announced a few days ago the roll out would start soon, but no specific dates given for carriers. ATT is still Feb/March which we are coming the end of February so it could very well be soon.

Still no update on a S4 AT&T

Double check by connecting to kies. Some updates will get pushed through our phones and others are going to be valuable through kies I believe.

For some reason everytime I connect my S4 on kies, it says firmware not supported. Even when I was on a stock non rooted s4

AT&T G2 and HTC one just started rolling out I expected it to roll out today but no luck with AT&T s4 owners who have 4.3 and wifi issues

Approximately 45 minutes for download, install, & updates. Quick report...numerous icons missing on home screen, Twitter completely gone, ...TBC

Well this just sucks if true. My backup app (not rooted) is RerWare's MyBackupPro. I was just informed by them that 4.2.2. no longer provides access to the SD card for 3rd party apps. If so, what good is an SD card?

Grab the update files from the thread in General and follow the directions for sideloading the update or updating via stock recovery.

Could someone please confirm or deny the assertion that 4.2.2 no longer supports SD cards for 3rd party apps. Many thanks!

That is pretty much true. Samsung devices running Android 4.4.2 don't allow third-party apps to write to the external SD card. Apps can read but can't write.
