Any SERO owners here switch over to SERO Premium and get the EPIC?
I'm thinking about doing it but I was just wondering do I have to get the EPIC through Sprint or can I just buy it off eBay and activate it myself?
I hate contracts and would much rather buy the phone in full off eBay but that Sprint page about SERO Premium mentioned something about how only phones bought through Sprint could be activated and they won't activate a phone that was bought through a third-party.
Just curious if anyone here has updated to SERO Premium and how did it go.
<raises hand>
It was easy as pie all my perks came along for the ride too!
SERO Premium doesn't require a new contract when you upgrade. You should be able to activate it as long as the phone has a clean ESN - the activation process is no different than other Sprint phones. I bought my Epic through Sprint telesales, and the upgrade process from my SERO 500 minute plan to SERO Premium was painless and took about 5 minutes.
Enjoy your space phone - the Epic makes my overclocked TP2 seem ancient and useless.
Bought off sprints website for the 250 in discounts. I had it on 9/30 so had to wait a day to activate.
250 for 2 years is 10/month off compared to buying off ebay offsets the 4g 10/month charge.

Thanks for the replies guys. I guess I don't have much to worry about.
By the way, what number do I call when I want to upgrade to SERO Premium?

Hey folks.
The white and black evo 4g are on sale at best buy for $1. It's for new lines only. I believe upgrade is 68.99 if I remember correctly. Good deal for those which want to stick with the classic evo and not jump up to the 3d. Also good for those who just got evos in the last 30 days, I got mine 2 weeks ago and got it price matched to the dollar. 36 dollar activation applies for new customers and 18 activation for upgrades. Sorry if no one finds this useful, I'm not advertising, just passing on a deal to my fellow xda peeps.
Again, this is your mileage may vary. The ad shows 99 but the tag in the store showed 1 dollar.
Happy flashing to your new evos.

150 views and no replies confirming my find? Perhaps just a local best buy promotion?

No it's not just local...picked one up the day it hit, 6/3 I believe, for my son. Just added the line to my plan for $50+tax. Just had the rep give me the box and told them I would activate it. Especially since they were feverishly attempting to upgrade two customers ahead of me to the OTA. Good deal if you ask me!
per goodandevo now free at bb with a contract

These rumors leaked out back in March of this year and it now looks like Sprint is well into it already. The only obstacle I can see so far is the T-Mo ATT merger but the idea is to replace the equipment on those old Nextel towers which ride the 800 MHz frequency with LTE.

Is there any new or updated info that shows what progress they have made? Where are you getting that they are pretty far into it?
Just a guess since its been a while since that time. Just felt like digging this up to see if anyone else has anything.

It would be awesome if they launched Lightsquared and Clearwire LTE this Fall and a new Nexus Prime to use it. I would **** my pants in joy.

The one and only thing I miss about AT&T; San Antonio used to be SBC's home city so we were at the forefront of all the new projects and upgrades.
Austin sucks, Sprint! Pick SA instead!

Lots of iPhones in Austin because there's a bunch of hipsters there. Damn you hipsters!
Seriously though, I am more interested in Sprint getting their CDMA radios upgraded and on the new frequencies for the better building penetration and coverage. 4G is still a "nice to have"with no practical purpose as long as 3G is working okay.
I hardly every turn Wimax on.

Great news for T-Mobile customers and people that are interested in switching to T-Mobile. Finally another US carrier other than Sprint that offers truly unlimited data. Thoughts?
Yea i think its good but if they lower the price like boost mobile it think more people would switch...

I'm wondering for those of us already on unlimited but 4G capped at 2GB, will this apply to us? :good:
I think so. It said on the up sell information that it suggests the T-Mobile employees sell it because it has way more advantages and is only ten more bucks.
