Note 2 or tab 7.7 with s3 lte - Galaxy Tab 7.7 General

Note 2 lte is coming to singapore. And i have just enough to get an s3. I had a note and loved it but it sucks to try take a picture with a monstrous 5.5 inch. Should i sell my tab 7.7 to go back to my old love. Or get a s3 and keep my tab?
Games and movies are what i mostly do... And messaging

On the contrary i sold my nexus 7 for 7.7. Micro sd card slot. What is google thinking with the 8gb. And games weighing in at close to 2 gb now.

hello
a 5.5 inch should be more fun for games, and it's more portable than the 7.7, but for movies, nothing, literary nothing in the mobile market can match the 7.7

Thats my issue. . I only can have one not both haha

I would need to sell my tab to get the jote 2.. I have enough for an s3 though.
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2

If you can only afford one device then get the Note 2 for you will need to use it everywhere and 7 inch tablets are too big to be carried around and used as a phone.
There is not much difference between the Note 2 and the S3 in terms of portability, so you might as well get the Note 2 with the larger screen for all of the advantages that gives.
Also, there is not much difference between the Note 1 and Note 2, so you could afford to get the Note 1 and keep the 7.7.

I had the note, sold it and it was my biggest regret ever...
I am looing to conjure money and get note 2 and keep the tab haha.

I had the original Note for a 2 months and I couldn't get used to the size. Like, when I went to Starbucks in the morning, and everyone had their ipoop's out, I felt ashamed taking out the GIGANTO.
Its like I was holding a Tablet

I have a tab 7.7 and a note 2 and if i should choose between these i would def go for the tab.
The note is faster, has a better camera but the screen of the tab is so much crisper and prettier. There is no other device that can compair to that.
Also its so much better browsing on the size of the tab, games even look better.
I would miss my tab much more
Tbh, i bought the note 2 thinking i would have a tab 7.7 experience in my pocket but it cant make up to that for me.

I have two Notes (N7000 and i717), a Nexus 7 and a P6800. Can't replace a good tablet with a phone. I'd take the S3 International over the Note 2.

Galaxy Tab7" 2 - (Update - bought one)

I've been checking out the development for ROMs for the Samsung galaxy tab two recently, looks like there's a lot of work going on over there.
Has anyone here messed with one in person? Or is or anyone here that is gotten rid of their OG galaxy tab to go with the new one? If so what are your opinions and thoughts?
I'm thinking about picking one up at Costco to screw around with it to replace my current one, but I'm not seeing Sbradymobiles mods, and that makes me a sad panda. Lol
I'm needing large icons for my usage in my car, and Sbradymobiles mods make the og tab work pretty good a an in dash device.

Don't waste your money. Get a Nexus 7 instead as the specs are way better. Unless your one of those "sdcard slot or its ****" people. If so, by all means waste your money.
I had this exact dilemma until I/O. Decision made.
Also updates.

Unfortunately the nexus 7 really isn't an option right now. This is an in dash setup in my car.
On my current setup I've got over 18 gigs of music, podcasts, and video.
If a verified method to use external storage and charge at the same time comes around for it, I would probably go with it.

Is the nexus 7 also a phone like the Galaxy Tab original?
Nope.
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using Tapatalk 2
I picked one up yesterday at Costco, 90 day return window so I should have plenty of time to see if it meets my needs.
I'll be running the og tab still, but with development falling off so much, and the numerous bugs I've reported (at 240 dpi), I figured I'd give this one a chance.
I ain't leaving!

Did you came from the orignal note or maybe the S3?

So basicly I wanted to see how many people came from the original note and upgraded to the note 2. Maybe even some people that came from the S3 since its nearly the same smartphone with a larger screen. Or if this is your first note
And maybe share your experience so far
I came from the S3. Loving the Note 2 especially the S-pen feature. At work I need to take notes so Ive set the Note 2 up that whenever I take the Spen out it automatically opens the S Memo so this is perfect for me. The faster processor and bigger screen makes browsing, playing games and watching videos better. I do find it slightly big to use as a phone but the pro's out weigh the cons. All is all I am very happy with it.

Are Nexus 7 owners still happy with their device now Nexus 10 is announced?

I recently sold my iPad as I havent used it since becoming an S3 and then a Note 2 owner. My initial plan was to get the new 32gb N7 as I liked the size of it and the specs seemed great too. Plus the fact its still a portable size and not to clumsy to handle.
Anyway, since seeing the N10 specs im in two minds as what to do. Are any N7 owners thinking of selling up and moving to N10 or is the N7 still capable of holding its own.

I'll move to the Nexus 10 once they announce one with a cellular radio. Otherwise, I'm happy staying on the N7 for the time being. Besides, once I get the N10, I'll gift this to my mom.
I will keep my N7. And for N10 I learned my lesson not to be an early adopter and wait a few months.

So I had a nook color as my first tablet which was 7 inches and loved it, then got an HP touchpad and put ice cream sandwich on, and I can say I rarely used my touchpad, I would a little bit here and there but it was big and bulky to carry around, however since I have gotten the nexus 7 which is almost 2 months ago now, I haven't put the thing down.
Its small enough to put in a bag, and comfy enough to type on using both hands without having to prop it up or manipulate it differently.
While its still has enough screen real estate to scale stuff right, also the UI that Google put on this kinda big phoneish in a way is awesome, this is a device meant for portrait use where as the nexus 10 feels landscape bound in nature

Most of the time I prefer 7 to 10. There are times 10 would be better (working at a desk, or doing a presentation), but if I had to pick one size it would be 7. I do wish I could have gotten 16 gig of memory for the same price though, although I'm doing fine with 8 with some care.

If the Nexus 10 and 7 were released at the same time, I would still have purchased the Nexus 7. Its a great device, and its Google's flagship. It has a great dev. community, its $199...love it
I love the 7" format. So yes, I am happy with it. Great product for the price. The 10" was much more than expected and in no position to spend that much on a device at this time.

When the 7 was announced I decided not to buy it because I prefer a bigger tablet for reading documents and web surfing. The price was great, but so is in the 10.
Seriously... 399$ for a 10 inch super hd screen with powerful processor and 2GB RAM? It's as great as a deal as on the 7.
7 is too small for serious work. If I were going to use it only as entertainment then it would be enough.

Switching from Note I to Note II

I'm seriously planning to buy a Note II and I currently own a Note I.
However, currently I see there are almost all new features that are available in Note II are now available for Note I (based on N7000XXLS7 rom update), will buying this now will really be a worthy upgrade?
Considering only on features and not on ROM Capacity , Processor type and clock speed?
Any comments would greatly appreciated.

While original note is an amazing phone, just for battery life is well worth the upgrade. I used to average 4 hrs of screen on time on my note but on note 2 i average 7 hrs. Throw in hardware upgrade and JB and its an easy decision.

Agree completely. If you like your note1, you'll love note2. I thought note1 was reall, really good. Note2 is the best phone I've ever laid hands on.

Having said that, the one disadvantage of the note 2 over the note 1 is the inability to move apps to sd card in the note 2.

Narrower design is more pocketable - when i ride my motorcycle, i can't tell it's there.
overall- i'm happy with the upgrade over my old GN1

I'm thinking about it as well. Had my Note on EBay today and took it down as I have JB now and the prices will be dropping soon. Costco has the S3 for 129.00 . Black Friday deals could be worth waiting for. I don't see the advantage of the International version anymore except for the FM. Tough decesion. But the longer I wait the better idea I will have on which TW Rom will take the lead as well

I am 100% happy with my Note II and I think anyone who buys one is unlikely to be disappointed, however I didn't get that "blown away" feeling that I got when I first switched from SGSII to the original Note.
I Broke the screen on my Note I & have not got around to fixing it, so mine needed replacing anyway, before I broke the Note I, I absolutely loved it and feel it was probably the best smartphone I'd ever used ( and I have used plenty) I feel the Note II is for all intents and purposes the same phone as the Note I with a few tweaks, and since I prefer to run CM10 I have to say I barely notice the differences between the two - this is not a slur against the Note II , more praise for the Note I.
Maybe if you are a fan of Touchwiz & all the S-pen stuff then its a different story, but my experience is like an iPhone upgrade - simply more of the same with a few tweaks.
In daily use there is little difference for me, personally. My gf has the 1 now, and i am jealous of her extra 80 pixels.

Similar Phone?

I've had a Nexus S for about a year now and it's the perfect phone for me aside from one little detail: expandable memory.
I'll probably be upgrading soon but I want something that:
-has a Removable Battery like the Nexus S
-at least 1Ghz processor
-between 4 and 5 inches large in screen size
- Expandable Memory (Or at least 32GB, but only if it's the only choices)
- Customizable (not too complicated to root and some good choices for Stock Roms)
Any recommendations?

I bought a Huawei Ascend G300 for my daughter for $134 AUD (about $140USD). Checks all your list. Rooting was easy. Stock roms are only up to ICS, Custom CM roms up to JB 4.1.2. Phone seemed quite zippy and has a fast reboot which is way quicker than rebooting a Nexus S, Doesn't have its own forum on XDA but MoDaCo has a G300 forum with everything you need. Battery life is amazing,
If you want to stray outside of the Nexus family, the HTC Raider is an underrated phone. Some development still going on, and it is LTE ready.
