This is possible, no?
Basically I want to create zips as one would have in ZipThemer w/ metamorph, only CM10/Theme Chooser compatible.
I like Nova a great deal, but the inability to swap out soft key icons without repackaging my entire theme is bumming me out.

What's the difference? I've searched forever to try and understand how to install a theme...but no luck. While I was doing that...I stumbled upon MetaMorph.
what's the difference between the two? They are both themers, right?
While they both do basically the same thing in the end, they are a bit different.
A theme (update.zip) is flashed from recovery. They are made from a standard template. The creator replaces the images in the individual apks and once everything is done, they sign the file. When flashed, it replaces the apks that are on your phone now with the new, altered ones.
A morph is flashed from an app while the phone is running along in normal mode. A morph does not replace the apk as a whole, but rather just replaces the images that are included in the morph. In my own personal opinion, a morph is much easier to make. But that is just a presonal preference. Morphs do not need to be signed.
I have been using the new CM7 theme Chooser and i like some parts of System, Androidian and Cyanbread, so I was wondering how easy it would be to combine parts of them?
Could I just unzip the apk, replace what i wanted from the other apk, re zip and install it?
Or would I need to do something special to get it to work?
Thanks
Stew

If you are only replacing the images that are already in either one of the themes, then all you would need to do is drag and drop your images into the theme with the correct name. if you want to add any images, then you would have to look at the source for the files to see how to add the images to the various .xml files that they would need to be added into. if you're just overwriting existing images, you should be able to resign it when finished, and it should work just fine.
How can you edit the xml?
All the built in MIUI visual effects and tweaks now work! The app drawer setting does not work, but it doesnt work on multiple other devices either. Maybe down the road?!
I pulled these from MrGarak's fresh squeezed edition for the desirehd/inspire4g. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1399074
This has only been confirmed working by me on stevendeb25's alpha2 Miui release. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1383721
I do not know what will happen with other atrix miui builds.
You take full responsibility for messing up your phone using these files.
Be sure to backup first just in case.
Here is a collection of mods to add to Miui that enable all the visual goodness that is Miui. Parts Pulled From Miui Version 1.12.16
After digging around for a while I was able to put together a collection of Miui parts to enable all the eyecandy and special settings Miui has. I put Miui on my GF Inspire a long time ago and wondered why it had so many more built in visual tweak settings that we did not have. Now WE DO!
Add Current Miui Version launcher2.apk which adds settings to remove icon text, wallpaper scrolling, and autoclose folders.
Add systemUI.apk and Miui Settings.apk to enable the statusbar layout, overscroll effects, all kinds of control over colors used in the Miui GUI.
Add Framework.jar to enable overscroll effects and bring back battery on top of statusbar.
Not using the framework.jar will cause overscroll effects and top battery bar to not work..
I have been running this way for about a whole day now and everything seems stable and smooth.
Basically this will enable all the MIUI Eyecandy effects.
Follow these directions:
1: Copy Launcher2.apk to /system/app, reboot
2: Copy the Miuisettings.apk to /system/app, Reboot
3: Copy the SystemUI.apk to /system/app, StatusBar will forceclose and you will have to pull the battery. Upon Reboot run FIX PERMISSIONS with Rom Manager.
4: Copy the Framework.jar to /system/framework, Reboot one last time and Run Fix permissions again once rebooted.
ENJOY!!!

thanks for your work,i will test it ,thanks
Hi,
Since there's little customization for this device I started messing a bit with the SecLauncher3.apk to resize icons and increase the number of rows on stock TW and avoid using others launchers (I like TW) .
You can find screenshots of the Appdrawer and of the Menu attached (i have less then 10 posts so i'm not able to embed the screenshots on the thread)
Features:
Home with 4x5 grid with smaller icons
Up to 7 icons on the dock bar
AppDrawer with 4x5 grid
Issues:
Stock Weather Widget doesn't look perfect
I don't know how to resize the AppDrawer Shortcut
Folders look a bit bigger then regular icons
If you know how to solve any of this issues please share the solution. I didn't knew nothing about decompiling/editing/compiling until 3 hours ago, so... nothing is impossible.
Instructions:
Download the modded SecLauncher3.apk from here:
Create a backup from your SecLauncher3.apk in /system/priv-app
Copy the modded SecLauncher3.apk to /system/priv-app
Set permissions on SecLauncher3.apk at 644
Reboot to TWRP and clear cache and dalvik cache
Reboot
Cheers

Smaller icons is a feature of the mod
I use MIA ex pack but some icons always missing, why? What would you recommend to cover all applications? Multirom theme is ugly
2500+ icon pack, flash in recovery mod and select default theme.
