How old are you?

I am quite interested to know how old you lot are?
Obviously most of you are males.
I, for one am 17.
I guess most of you are in your 20's and young 30's?
Right?

I'm 17 too.. but think like this, xperia x8 it's a cheap phone, that's why most of the users are young boys like us (and probably because of that, SE doesn't give a f*** about us).. adults prefer to buy HTC.. XD

Check the serial number, that will tell you when the phone was made and what batch it was in. The number is on the box, I forgot what letters correspond with what months, but the Nexus 7 thread should have some decoder as they had a bunch of issues with the early units, and every S/N uses the same scheme for the most part.

Upgrading to Nexus 4

Hey guys, I'm thinking about buying a new phone. What do you think, at this time is it worth buying a nexus 4 or better wait till the next nexus phone and get that one?

I just upgrade phone from Galaxy S3. I can say , N4 is a lot better. Go ahead and upgrade, you wont regret it.

The Nexus 4 is fast and easy to root. It also has many kernel and ROM versions customized by the developers. Unless you have to have a Galaxy S4 or HTC One, the Nexus is the phone to have.

100% that my next phone is gonna be a nexus. But the question is which nexus I should buy; nexus 4 or the next nexus.

nexus 4 its life cycle isnt over yet plus its cheap and you will get the most bang for the buck.

Yeah, but if I buy it now, I won't buy a new phone for at least 2 years. Isn't its life cycle gonna be over by then?

If you have a phone at the moment and you're not in a hurry then wait for the next nexus. Keep in mind the next nexus should come by the end of the year, and it will be sold out at first and there will be problems with availability. Most probably you won't get your hands on one before january.
If you need a phone now, then get the nexus4

8 gig wouldn't be enough, bump your wallet a bit to get the 16 gig version. Heck, even 16 gig might not be enough.

I have 2gb left on my 16, if you compromise some apps and games, you'll be fine

I know, I still have 4 gigs left even with 3gigs of music and 2 2gigs data games on it.
But 2 gigs on a 16 doesn't feel good to me, it would be better if we can just relax about storage without limiting some apps and games and pulling NAND backups every now and then. 32 gigs would've been perfect...

Nothing wrong with that, the Nexus 5 is an excellent device. I wouldn't call them noobs because of that. It is faster than the Nexus 4 by a long shot especially with ART active.

Yeah the Xperia Z1, Note 3 and G2 all have 3000mah+ batteries. Google had to cut costs somewhere though.

Usually 1 year increments are not worth it.
Is the Nexus 5 an upgrade? Yes it has a better camera, better processor, etc. However, the Nexus 4 isn't a bad phone and is running the latest version of Android.

Thanks for your feedback. Dont care much about the camera. Nexus 4 is running buttery smooth on 4.4.2 unless if I was benchmark whore but I am not. Doesnt seems to be worth upgrading.

Yeah if you have a Nexus 4, don't upgrade. The Nexus 4 is better than the Moto X in my opinion.
