[Q] Changing rom and my problems.. - Huawei Ideos X5 U8800

Hello,
I am using original rom. I have this u8800 huawei for about 1.5 year. NOw, the phone is not so sensitive when i touch and some slow sometimes. While onkeyboard, i cant correctly use the letters, usually wrong letters are being selected.
And its batters, it doesnot last so much, 3-4 hours.
And the phone memory. I have to delete some applicatiopns to free up space. I dont understand how those space is being fulled. Because i moved a lot of applications to sd card, so i dont understand how each week each week this memory goes full.
So, you see i have a lot of problems. I searched a lot of but i coudl not find nice informaition about roms. SO, which one do you suggest me to flash? Custom or stock?
And what do i have to before it? Backing up go sms messages to sd card, with calllogs backing up call logs, with titanium backing up applications and their data and that is it?
And another problem is that, i can see any file of sd card just like a pc, but i cant see the memory so i cant know what is in. So, how can i back up phone memory?
I am waiting your answers...

Did you update to gingerbread official? It's a stock ROM and way better than froyo. But if you want to get more performance and features from your U8800 i recommend you to root your phone and install a custom rom. For me one of the best roms and almost perfect is aurora ics by dzo, you will have access to a lot of features and also it will be possible for you to increase the phone performance.

Yes i do but first you need to update to 2.3.5 official gingerbread and then install aurora by dzo. And you also need to rrot and install clockworkmod recovery there are guides for that in this forum.

Oh and there are some tweaks that increase fps limit, sd card read write speeds, and other ones, but those will increse the boot time by a couple seconds, no big deal

Nexus One Root/unroot and space pls help

Ok fellas! Im new to this world of android just bought a newsu one last night Its used and rooted. I installed bunch of apps and after a bit it gave me an alert of low space/memory. Never had this with my x10 . so i was wondering may be its cus o the root if yes? Do u recmnd unrooting to clear space? And in case of unrooting any help /guide would be much appreciated.
Also i saw the update alert ast night fo 2.2.1 but when i tried to update it it wa stuck on a black screen with a android(green guy) and a exclamation mark. so i r/s the phone again and ignore the update anyhelp. please...
Thanks a bunch.
The ROM would effect the lack of space, but having root shouldn't. It more likely the apps though.
Just try moving some apps to your SD (menu> settings> applications> manage applications... sort by size [menu key], then select an app. In each app there's an option to move to SD. Some will move, some won't)
There's plenty of discussions on the update, but it's probably failing because you're not stock...

So what should i do to get the update ..get the phone unroot??
First, decide if you want the update, or if you want a custom ROM...
I've not tried the update, so I can't make any recommendations.

http://theunlockr.com/downloads/android-downloads/android-roms/nexus-one-roms/
Both of them were awesome, right now I have the mdaco one, but the there are few problems.
*. Showed still on 2.1 in setting.
*. GPS isn't locking.
*. Bluetooth isnt working.
*. When Im trying to lock the phone by pressing the power button it locks but wont go to sleep(back light is still on).
*. Power button won't work if i try to shutdown/put phone on vibrate/airplane mode/.
so far these are the problems im facing.
Does anyone nows a better stable Sense ROM?? Please advise.. Thanks.

I Need some good advice for my Wildfire

Hello guys, I own a wildfire and I'm having a bad time with it.
I use Launcher pro, lot of widgets installed, 2gb card that has very few free space and my problem is that it is SLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW.
Slow as hell.
I just cant stand it anymore.
I have stock rom, not even rooted, all stock except launcher and widgets.
I need advice on what steps should I do to make it run smoothly, cuz I'm half step from throwing it out of the window.
Give some advice on the steps I sould do, root, custom rom, oveclock, anything that might work.
Also, if you can post me the threads for the steps I should do, I would be grateful.
Thanks!
I definetely would root it and use setCPU and overclock it.
And put your apps on the SD card instead of internal memory.
That would help I suppose.
But for sure there are other real experts that can help you
Good luck

buy a galaxy gio 120 euros and you have one or a other mobile because the wildfire would be forever slow im happy thats mine wildfire is broken.
tweaks are for cm7 and can be used on other roms. Depends on what you need. Also cm7 has its own tweaking in settings. As for downgrading, if you are on hboot 1.01.0002 then you need to downgrade to 1.01.0001. Or if you on 80.00002(something like that can't remember exact number), i would upgrade to 1.01.0001. Revolutionary only at present works with 1.01.0001 as far as I'm aware. But honestly I think you will like the difference once done.
Bro, I even start to type and the whole phone lags, when I open handcent sms, it takes A CENTURY to open....
I hope the difference will be noticable.
Is CM7 the most stable?
Can I have a backup to my current state? So in case something goes bad I can recover?
just go for cyanogenmod 7.1.0.1 stable, that should do the trick for you. will be faster and smoother and with decent app2sd. and yes you can do a backup, its called a nandroid back up and you perform it from your custom recovery( dont worry you`ll get one during the process of rooting ect). a nandroid back up is and exact copy of how your phone is now. rom/apps/appinfo everything. so if **** hits the fan you can always go backto your nandroid backup. also if all else fails you can use a htc program called a ruu which will completely revert the phone back to stock. hboot recovery rom all of it
I just rooted and installed CM7. I have a problem, I followed this guide here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1365159
And I used the backup at the step 31, with the revolutionary thing.
Well before the wipe, I backed up a lot of things, except my contacts. Is there any way I can find them inside this backup that was made during step 31?
Well the phone runs a little bit more faster but not that fast.
I'll try OC and we'll see.

or make a nandroid backup, then restore your previous backup, download an app called contact2sim and copy all of your contacts over to your sim. and then reflash your nandroid. or i think the stock contacts app has the ability to export all your contacts to your sdcard as a .xml file, take that and then you can out them on your other nandroid and on your pc for safe keeping

Make sure whichever launcher you are using is not on the SD card. I had the same problem with go launcher as soon as I moved it to my SD. I moved it back to phone and haven't had the problem since.
This is a bug of official 2.3 roms(I had it in all). Fortunately it' s not happen to everyone. Unfrortunatley we don't know what it triger it, and huawei never tried to find a solution(I've reported them from first 2.3 beta). I've found a way to solve it(in fact just to improve the situation, because it' s keep coming from time to time and needed to do it again). Basically is a command, which reinstall all apps, here is the link:

It' s strange though because I had this problem with all 2.3 official roms(and I have try all of them), but never on a custom rom, and for sure not on aurora & elora ICS which I've used for a long time.
Maybe thats because custom roms don't use stock launcher?

Best Custom ROM for Nexus One?

Ok, I am a complete noob to this. I am getting a HTC Nexus One and would like to install a custom ROMon it, preferably CyanogenMod, but I'll see what you guys suggest first.
I need a version that will run fast and still use all (or close to all) the phones features easily and with out a hitch. I am not a programmer and have little patience when it comes to debugging issues.
I am aware of the process to install ROM's and need no introductory to the process, just a point in the right direction in terms of with ROM or CM version runs the fastest on a Nexus One and with as few bugs.

Yes you still able to use gapps, just flash it like you flash the ROM. If you're new to flashing custom ROMs, you might want to do some reading before playing with your phone.

I'm asking a question about that ROM... I created a partion EXT4 with 4ext 1gb large, the rest of the space is for another partition with FAT32.
After i've installed the ROM, i launched the command "a2sd install"; everything went fine but after the installation of some apps, the market said it needed more space, even if there's plenty of space.

hi, i saw on clockwordmod the "install rom from sd card" option and i'm curious..if i download cm10 rom on my sd card, is it possible to install it via that cwm option? probably stupid question but i'm a noob and i would really like to have JB on my HD2 but i don't know what's the easy way to do it.. thank you all
Sent from my NexusHD2 using xda app-developers app
Of course it is, but you need a partition on your sd card. Also, newer roms come with the aroma installer and then, when you start the installation, aroma starts and you're asked if you want nand(probably tmous only) or data2ext(everything goes to partition) type. Then you select the second one(if you partitioned sd card) and it installs it itself. There's also the newest method called native sd. Search for tutorials and other because what I wrote isn't enough.
Just to mention, you can partition your sd with cwm, or mini tool partition wizard. With partitioning, you lose all the data that you have on sd.
Good luck!
thank you just one more question.. when i do sd par. which size on ext size should i put? i have 3 options (128,256 and 512 mb)?

Read if the rom yr installing has any instructions regarding a preferred partition size. Other than that it's up to you, you can do some reading on here about it. I'd opt for 512. I currently use 1024. You won't break anything, jump in, pick one and enjoy getting to try the latest jellybean! Try Paranoid Android, you'll hate to be without the "hybrid mode" once you try it.

If you mean the JB 4.2 camera, then you should really read more carefully. The title and OP clearly state the ROM is a JB 4.1.2 ROM, there aren't any 4.2 ROMs available yet. Luckily for you, there's a link to my thread containing some of the 4.2 apps (both flashable zips and .apks) in my sig.

nativesd is dependant on your sd card having a decent random write speed. if its slow, you get lags and hangs.
