Low battery life - Huawei Ideos X5 U8800

For the past few weeks i've been noticing a bigger drain of battery than the usual and i don't seem to be figuring out what's going on...
If someone knows any way to increase battery life feel free to post any solution. Thanks in advance

have you been fully charging and fully discharging your phone?

What app did you install? Did you install a new rom? what rom are you on? My guess would be a rouge app. Have a look in the battery usage graph or get spareparts and look at the things that are keeping the phone awake.

I would suggest you download CPU Spy to see if an application is preventing your phone from entering deep sleep mode, for example. You may have a lot of widgets refreshing way too often, as well.

The only widget that refreshs at my home screen is SetCPU, in order to monitor the Temperature, but i will try that app in order to check whats going on thanks.

Ok finally I've managed to see what was the problem that was causing such battery drain/loss... The problem is that i wasnt full charging/discharging, now the battery seems to be working fine. Also I've check cpuspy and nothing is interferindo with the deep sleep.. Thanks for the help

Never fully discharge Li-ion batteries.

But is not fully discharging, under %15 damages battery? And also i put from batter over %95 because after %100, it waits until it drops and again charges if i forget there.

What app can i use to show what specific app is draining the battery the most.. my battery seems to drain faster than everyone else on here and i figured its has to be an app that im using thats using more battery that the rest..

First, you need spare parts. Go to Battery History and check the % of running time. If its near 100%, your phone isn't sleeping. Next is to find what is causing this issue.
Go to homescreen, hit menu, hit settings. About phone, Battery Use. See what is using the most battery.
Next, go to settings, Applications, running services. See what services are running. If your phone isn't sleeping, its probably one of these services causing it. For me, Coreplayerservice, which is the music player service caused the phone not to sleep.
Spare parts is showing 68% and that's probably because ie been using th phone a lot this morning
Tapatalkin' it from my Epic 4g
You should check the CPU usage next on spare parts...that should show you the apps taking cpu time

ill check that now
68% is very high unless you think that since you unplugged the phone you have literally been using it 2/3 of the time.
If you don't want the full blown Spare Parts app, but want the battery piece then you should download "BatteryHistory" from the market.
Sorry to thread jack, but my usage is 99.2%, thats bad right???

Battery Usage App

I'm looking specifically for an app that can help me find out what is using my battery at certain times. I am losing a lot of battery (25%) overnight when the phone is sleeping (like me) and I need to look in the morning to see what has consumed it. So, basically, an app that can be started at a certain point or reset, and viewed later and find what's using the battery. Anyone any ideas?

Gotta figure out your wake locks. I lost 0-1% overnight last night.
Best bet is to download better battery stats and gsam battery info. Also CPU spy is helpful for figuring if your tablet is deep sleeping or not.

I've turned off NFC, Location Services and only sync the folders I need in Gmail and i'm down to about 5% overnight. I'll try setting the wifi to sleep when the screen is off and see how that goes.
How accurate are battery stats on the Nexus 10?

Calibrate the battery by running it down to 0% and charge it fully.
You can also root the phone and flash a custom kernel that offers great battery life.
Other things you can do...
Turn off sync, turn off GPS, turn off Google now, and lower brightness level to a minimum.

Yeah i was more talking about calibration. Is Just one discharge cycle enough ?
Sent from my Blade S using xda app-developers app
There's no such thing as battery calibration. Just use your phone normally, charging it when you want to.

Don't calibrate now.. your phone will already have the best calibrated battery settings.
Calibrate when you flash a custom Rom and that too,if you face battery problems. Otherwise no need. You'll do more damage otherwise. No need to calibrate if you flash a kernel over stock either.

You dont calibrate li ion battery.

And you should never purposely run it down to 0%.

It is a bit of a misnomer as the phone is calibrating the battery scale to match the discharge of the battery. It isn't that there is no such thing, it just isn't what people think.
Get the latest Franco kernel on it. That is all.
