[Q] CM7 .32 vs CM7 .35 sound quality - Huawei Ideos X5 U8800

Hi there!
I've been testing all CM7 releases for u8800 and I noticed that sound quality in Ezet's (.32) is much better than others (.35 kernel), when listening music with earphones. I also noticed that the sound is much louder. I tested with and without dsp manager, soundbeats, etc.
Is this related to kernel or to the rom itself? and if it is related to rom, is there any way to use ezet's files in other CM7 releases? I only refer to CM7 because skip track with volume buttons is essential for me and I'm not a MIUI or Mokee fan (I wish Aurora had it...)
Thanks in advance!

[Q] eAAC+ palyback issue on CM7 nightly

eaac+ which was playing nicely on virtuoso 1.0.0.1 on my DZ previously.
Now i installed cm7 nightly-12 and aac nolonger works.
it shows an error decoding this kind of media.
what is the cause?
preoblem with cm7 or in Sense ROM some special codecs ???
Do not post questions about nightlies.
i even tried liquid metal ROM, cyanogenmod 7 RC1 etc.. still not working
Perhaps there was a kernel change?
different nightlies, Liquid metal port, cm 7 RC2 all of then doesnt play eaac+ at all.
only way to play them is to go back to froyo.
duno why?
anyone can confirm eaac+ working on senseginger 1.0.1 or desireHD gingerbread port ?
Still no support for eaac+ (HE AAC v2) any of the CM7 nightlies, CM 7.0.3, MIUI 1.6.3 etc..
Stock gingerbread doesnt playing it at all ....
so far its been playing only in Sense ROMs for my DZ
Anyone has clues ?? Does HTC specially licensed it for Sense ROMs ?

List of Roms/Kernels supporting Orig. Car Dock Audio Out/Calls

Hi, decided to start this thread because I can't find a lot of infos about what kernel or rom is able to throw out the audio from the original car dock plug and especially which is able to make audio calls from the car speaker.
As owner of the kit i'd like to know if the rom i'm going to flash will support this feature and not just to hope in luck...
If you have any direct experience about this, please post here and i'll put in OP to make a list of the rom that support our car dock, i don't have a lot of time to try all the roms but together we can make this easily...
thanks

Does the hyperdroid support audio out without redpill as well?
What are the changes from westcrip 8.6 to 9.5?? Why calls aren't working anymore?
HyDrOG3NICS v1.1 ICS [N] - I am guessing all AOKP ROMs will be the same

Hyperdroid only uses RedPill - hence the problem.
I've been asking on the thread about westcrip - no reply from anyone.
thank you...today i'm going to try some roms, hope to find smth good
edit:
flashed Samsung Stock (XXLPH) and Simplistic RC7 (XXLPB based), both work only audio out...
as calls are available only on Resurrection 8.6 (XXLP6 kernel) i'll try to flash this stock...
good news, Stock XXLP6 makes calls through the car speaker
it'd be nice to understand how it's related to kernel...
edit: tried foxhound too...[A]
Tried Wanam ICS 9.1 [A]
Looks like anything LPH is no good.
miui 2.3.2 [N]
let's hope for the nextcoming Miui 4...at least for music out
Bezke 3.0 ics lph rom (a)
Westrcrip ICS 9.7 with LPJ - [A]
Probably all LPJ kernels will be the same...
DarkyROM HD Base XXLPQ for I9100 - [A]
Samsung had it working in LP6 - but have screwed it up since then for phone calls through the car dock....
yes that's really bad....who knows samsung...
Stock XXLPQ working only audio as well
Miui V4 2.3.16 [A] - needs Dock Sound Redirector (here) as the dock option is missed
Bezke ICS LPQ HOLO 4.0 - [A]
That's it for LPQ testing now - Samsung definately doesnt have audio working for calls anymore.
Until the next release...
wanam ics lp7 ROM (a)
ICS Ultra Nusa v1.0 - DXLP7 - [A]
So it looks like all LP7 ROMs dont do car audio...
I will say that using the Galaxy Sound Redirector on LP6 is great because it auto shuts off any playing music when you take it out of the dock. The stock Dock feature left it playing through the speaker phone....
Maybe a silly question, but does the microphone work for calls? Is it not covered by the dock?
Does anyone know if a microphone would work via the line out on the dock itself? I'm thinking of splicing the headphone (with integrated mic) that comes with the galaxy and hooking up the earphones to the car speakers and placing the mic closer to the driving seat.

The microphone works fine when it's in the dock. Its how i make my calls in the car.
Interesting idea about splitting it, but then you have an extra step to hook up the phone every time you dock and every time you remove it...

I was actually thinking that I could stick to the line-out/speaker port on the doc itself (instead of the port at the top, so there would be no extra step), but I'm not sure it supports a mic.
I wonder if someone with a kernel that supports audio calls do a quick test: put the default samsung headphones into the line out on the dock and see whether the calls are routed through the headphones (they should be obviously if the kernel supports it), but also see if the microphone integrated into the headphones is used instead of the mic on the s2.

[Q] Most stabe custom rom recommendation?

Hi guys, I've just recently purchased a U8800 (NOT pro, just the normal one).
I did some research already and the more I read, the more confused I am. It seems that many roms, especially the MIUI ones all have similar problems related to performance, wifi issues etc.
And speaking of MIUI roms, I'm not sure which one is the better one (in terms of speed and stability). Here're the ones I'm referring to:
[ROM] MIUI V4 based Elite ROM SX - (Stable) - 2012-07-14
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1562661
[ROM][MIUI-V4][2.8.3][3.0.8]CrazyMiui|08/05|{SMOOTH,FAST AND STABLE}
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1690156
MIUI PORTUGAL V4 - 2.9.29.1 (Base GenoKolar)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1928336&highlight=miui
It seems that some of them are based on GenoKolar's MIUI rom, and that some are based on other people's roms.
The same applies to other non-MIUI roms, such as this one:
[ROM] Elora 1.10.13 - 2012-10-13
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1798031
which is a hybrid of DZO's Alora rom and some extra added stuff from other roms.
Anyway, I'm really confused by which one to try. I don't want to risk bricking my device or going through the trouble of testing each one and experiencing the problems or bugs, and then try the next one and so on. I was wondering if someone could kindly provide some suggestions as to which rom is the most stable and is decent in terms of speed/performance.
Also, by stable I mean that it has the least bugs OR that it has the minimum amount of critical bugs that could affect the phone's daily use.
Thanks in advance.
Personally i think that for daily use ezet's CyanogenMod 7.2 with .32 kernel is the best considering performance, battery etc. but it is kind of outdated since dzo has made a pretty stable ICS rom(Aurora) which is a lot newer and smoother but with a few bugs remaining. Not to mention that dzo is from the same city as you haha!

Thanks for your reply!
Ya I also think that CM 7.2 is quite outdated, even my Motorola Milestone (which has locked bootloader and no custom kernel support until recently) is on an even newer CM RC release, I think it's on RC3 or RC4 now.
And ya I also agree that Dzo's Aurora rom is probably the most updated one around here but I did read a few comments in the last few pages about certain bugs so I dunno if I should flash it or not.....
I prefer Aurora 4.1u1 for daily use. There's still some bugs, but with some time and understanding of how to find the reason of your problem you'll get the most recent and stable ROM for U8800 now. Also Dzo's back and he is working on the update now so it wouldn't take long to fix all the bugs remaining.
Hi!
Actually i'm with Elora. It's pretty cool and stable.
Best regards
MIUI PT, based on Geno's version is the way to go., in my oppinion.
Very stable, nice and weekly updated
But, honestly speaking, althought every rom as its ups and downs, nothing like you try them all and see which one adapts better to your needs. :good:

[Q] Defy+ GB 2.3.7 CM7 Audio Quality Improvement

Hi!
Now I have installed WhiteRabbit CM7 2.3.7 ROM, but audio quality is poor... I remember that taki_jeden_rom[JB] has a lot of Audio Improvements and I tried to install them in my WhiteRabbit but I see they are JB/ICS only
So the main question is:
Are there any CM7 Sound Quality Improvement Mods?
Thanks!

If it is possible to move the full HI-FI function to an unofficial 7.1 rom?

Guys I can't stand android 5.1 anymore,so I am gonna flash a 7.1 rom.But I really need the HI-FI function,in fact that's why I bought pro 5 instead of galaxy s6.I haven't flashed an unofficial ROM yet,and I need to know if it is posible to support the full HI-FI function (include the low gain ,high gain and line out )on an android 7.1 rom like cm or crdioid?Guys, thank you! And sorry for my poor English.
all works perfect i think, hi-fi works better in custom roms of faust than in flyme
and you can flash divine beats also

Thank you very much Is the HiFi feature enjoyable in every of your apps or just specifics music players? I mean: Poweramp 3.0 just added native Meizu and LG V HiFi support. Do I need to look for "adapted apps" or it'll work as a general audio decoder for everything? (Like the DAC Fix App for the LG V10 and V20 allows to)

try for yourself the 3 roms
rr and cm are more stable and have very good compatilbity for apps, especially cm
i dont have the pro 5 anymore
so good luck testing
to flash divine beats
1 you have to root phone
2 you have to install busybox
3 you have to change selinux to permissive, you can do that with xda app selinux mode changer
than install divine beats 9.0 ganaa
it will work perfect and dolby atmos + viper fx is very good adition to sound even meizu pro 5 have excelent sound
