Buy sim unlock from ebay Very cheap (~5 USD) and works 99% of the time.

Em, I don't know if it is right or not, but you may use Market Unlocker which gives you a list of different providers such as Verizon or etc.

HTC Hero Hungary/Vodafone Unlock

Hi!
I have htc hero with 1.5 firmware, 63.18.55.06EU_6.35.06.18 Baseband version, 2.6.27 kernel, 2.73.405.5 and 1.0.0.A6288 sotware version. My phone is locket by Hungary-Vodafone.
I bought unlock code 3 different website, but unlock code always be the same. Please help me, how to unlock my phone.
It may be that your firmware is like the Orange UK firmware, which would not allow unlocking (it seems to work, but your phone remains sim-locked).
You should probably try installing another ROM on your phone (e.g. MoDaCo) to see if that accepts your unlock code as this worked for Orange UK Heroes.
Look in the development forum for details of how to do this - you may need to use a goldcard.
Regards,
Dave
Thanks for the fast answer, i will test it.

Hi Dave!
I try 10 different roms (generic, modaco, t-mobile uk, ect) but my unlock code not work with the different roms. Please help.
In that case, it sounds like your unlock code must be incorrect, because this process has worked for other Orange Hero owners.

Dave

I bought 3 different sites
htccode.com
hero.unlock-now.com/
mobileunlocked.com/HTC/Hero
all codes are same!
It was definitely the case with Orange UK Heros that you could enter an unlock code, and it would appear to accept it, but the phone wouldn't not connect to the new network. It was then found that if you flashed your phone with a different ROM and tried the code again, the phone would unlock correctly. Once this was done you could even load the original ROM again without issue.
Just to check, you did follow the process below:
1. Flash a different ROM (e.g. MoDaCo)
2. Boot the phone with the non-Orange SIM - it should ask you to enter the unlock code.
3. Enter the code
4. Reboot
If flashing a new ROM hasn't worked for you, I guess you've got a new problem!
Sorry - I don't think I can help you further.

Dave

"As far as I know, Vodafone Co. is locking the Hero, so that's why the received SIM unlock code doesn't work"
Hope this help

Branding + Simlock = disable via flash?

Hey guys!
I hope this is the right subforum to ask this question, and i hope i wasn't to stupid to use the search engine
I'm thinking about purchasing a HD2/Leo from UK and i've found some offers of 400 Pounds, but the problem is: These phones are Branded and one offer says "Simlocked"
First of all i'd install a ROM in german (original HTC), would this also disable the branding and the simlock? (i'd say yes, but hey, you're the pro's )
While i wrote this i read that it works with a vodafone software branding, but i'd like to have a confirmation from you
Best Regards
V.
€dit: Does someone know if Leos have only software brandings or do they already have something like "T-Mobile" on the front?
Please please use the "search" function. This question has been asked numerous times.
Thanks
simlock is only unlockable by getting a code from either provider or from various unlock websites.(varied results) Currently there are no free ways to do this.
To test if your rom is also locked, try putting your serial into the HTC website, if it fails then the rom is locked to the provider.
However, simlock does not prevent you using different roms. Find your original rom as a backup, then use HSPL to allow you to flash whatever rom you like via activesync.
Have a read of this and this and this too.
Start your search for your original rom here
hey
thanks for your replies
@Ibb, sorry, i guess i didn't search hard enough, i found something after that but i was short in time.
@samsa:
thank you too but i already read that this won't disable the simlock which is important to me due i'm not a t-mobile user. But i already looked up at ebay.co.uk, there are very nice offers too
thank you for your replies

[Q] Unlock o2 HD Mini

Hi all ,
Is it easy to unlock an O2 UK branded HD Mini to sim free status ?
If so , how do I go about doing it ?
The last time I had to unlock a phone , it was with a couple of Nokias , and easy enough .
Thanks
As for as I am aware you'll need to get an unlock code from a shop or an internet site by giving your IMEI number

Gone are the good old days of having a little .exe program saved on my pc for unlocking phones !!
Have you any recomendations for a reliable website ?
How much do they charge these days ?
Will flashing with a generic ROM get rid of the sim lock / restriction ?
Thanks .
Just a little update ,
I didn't need to get the phone unlocked .
I just popped my sim card in and it worked with no problems
Is there any way to remove the o2 branding from the phone ?
What about ROM updates ?
There is a new rom listed on the HTC site , but when I enter my serial number/IMEI it tells me my device does not qualify .
I assume it's because my phone has an o2 Rom installed on it .
Can this be replaced with a stock HTC Rom ?
Thanks

[Q] Unlocking Dual boot HD2

Hello, im planning to get HD2 from ebay, its a dual boot one, WP7.5 & Android, and the seller says its T-mobile locked, so is there anyway to get another sim card working on it? or it won't work even on Android?!
P.S. i searched the forum 1st, found all the unlock questions are old, before dual booting i mean.
To unlock the phone you need an unlock code
The other posts are old but the methods and costs are still the sam Putting Android, Win & or any other OS does not unlock the phone
Use Google and pay for the code my man
Yeah, you can get a code for $13.50. That's what I paid for mine, and had my HD2 unlocked in 15 minutes (depends on how fast the email arrives). Do a search online and do not pay anything more than $15 for the code.
Thanks for the help guys, you're the best!
