Just got my N2, popped in my S3 micro SIM which is date/voice activated, factory unlocked and noticed I can make and receive calls but I cannot use the Internet unless I connect to WiFi. Did I just paid 800$ for a device I can't use? Please help...

Everyone keeps saying that but maybe someone should tell Samsung that their own phone is missing LTE... Because they seem to think it has it...

Can you comment on how you resolved the problem? I'm experiencing something similar with my N7100.
Thanks in advance!

For anyone with a similar issue, the fix involves creating or updating the telus APN.
I was able to get mine to work by creating a new APN with the APN address "sp.telus.com" and leave everything default.
My n7100 works perfectly fine with Rogers here in canada, minus the LTE. HSPA+ is good enough for me.

Hello,
I am considering buying this phone from Verizon. I have been looking at the phone spec, and found that its technical model is SM-N900V. Is it inferior to the international model N9005 in anyway?
Since I travel a lot, will the difference in the network band prevent me from using this phone in certain countries? Can this problem be solved by rooting and installing custom rom/software?
Thank you!
I don't know what the complete differences are. However I do know it's an unlocked phone and can be used with other Sims.
I have a ATT phone and switch the Sims out on a regular basis.
You shouldn't have any problems traveling with this phone.

No problem at all. Just change the apn settings after you insert the sim and you are good to go.

Really? SO since we are in a Verizon thread, I just want to make sure. If we bought the retail Verizon Note 3 and have a Verizon 4g SIM in it, we can remove that, put in a ATT SIM, change the APN settings, and it will work on ATT network? Calls and Data?

Correct. hspa but not LTE I haven't seen LTE yet but then again I haven't tried an ATT LTE apn either. I believe LTE is on a different band anyway.
But it absolutely gives people in my contacts the impression that I'm calling or texting from my ATT phone. It's sweet.

Thank you for your reply. This definitely make me feel a bit better if I need to change carrier in the future.
In the mean time, can anyone here with technical knowledge tell me if there is any disadvantage in choosing Verizon's N900V over N9005? Especially for using them outside the US?
Thanks!
Hello, I tried searching for 2 hours and trying some basic things but to no avail. Sorry if there is a solution on the forums as I can usually find them for my Droid 1 and S3 in the past, but I am having trouble so I thought I would post.
I have a Galaxy Note 3 N900a which is the AT&T variant. It is unlocked and I just moved to Canada. I was given a work phone which is a Galaxy S4 on Telus network. Since I have my Note 3 that is unlocked I figured I would just use it. I first went to Telus website to check the IMEI and it said that it would work on the voice and LTE network that Telus uses. After I put the SIM card in I could then use it to make voice calls but I wasn't getting mobile data. I actually did not notice at first because I downloaded all my usual apps and such using WiFi immediately.
After I noticed I went online to check the specific LTE network that Telus uses and if it was actually supported on the AT&T version n900a. As far as I can tell it is and its 1700.
Is it a problem with AT&T's software? At any rate I would prefer that it worked with out having to install a different kind of software like CM because if I do that I can't sync to my companys intranet. But in the end I like the note and I will do that if it is the only solution.
other info:
Android Version 4.3
Kernel Version 3.4.0-1625098
I will answer any questions for more info if need be. Thank you for your time.
Have you checked your APN settings?
As far as I can tell, your CSC does not match up with Canadian providers. So you have to try changing your APN, or CSC to get data.

Hi,
Same problem with my n9005, not supporting Moroccan 3g. Posted over and over but no definitive answer yet.
Was told to flash a new modem, a new csc, a new rom, but which one is safe and how to flash it, sincerly, I couldn't have much help for this.
I know that there is more canadians here than moroccans to help on this, so best luck

Thank you very much for the APN buzzword. Using Telus' website I was able to find the correct APN to get 4G. No LTE but I can definitely live with the speed. In the end my phone was trying to use the wrong APN and I had to manually create a new one with the correct values.
What does CSC mean? To change that would I need to root the phone? Also is there an easy way to figure out what I would need to change it to?

4G and LTE are just two different ways to say the same thing. If your GN3 displays 4G, then you are connected to an LTE network.

What springer said, 4G == LTE.
CSC is what stores carrier specific files, apps, carrier settings and bloat.
Oh ok cool. The only reason I said was because I normally have 18 Mbps on my S4 but on note 3 i was pulling 4 mbps. I see that it just varies. Either way thank you for the tips. As soon as I knew what to actually search for I found a solution quickly.
I also hope that you find what you are looking for in Morocco my friend.

Verify the Telus APN is fully entered and turned on. I am using this phone on Bell and it didnt have any APN (makes sense I guess because this phone isnt sold here in Canada) so I had to enter it.

Yup. There are quite a few areas of the city where the LTE isn't great (like, 0 or 1 bar's worth) but definitely getting the same amount of LTE exposure as I am used to (compared to my other, normal/Bell phones)

My previous Sony (Xperia T LT30a), Samsung Galaxy S3, HTC Raider/Vivid.
I have the normal Z1 C6903 bought from Asia and it works with Bell LTE here in Vancouver. I think the Z1 and Z1c have the same pentaband LTE antennas. I had to manually enter Bell APN settings for the internet to work
I am trying to force lte (so I can tether with faster speeds) using #2263# ussd code and I get unable to process request. I've tried different network modes, different apn. Any app that I've tried to download doesn't seem to work either. Does anyone know how to force LTE only? 4g seems to be as slow as edge.
maybe your specific model of s5 doesnt support lte?
did you check the exactly model of your phone?

I got my phone from the t-mobile store. I know for a fact it has lte. It's just the area I'm in I bounce between edge/4g/lte, because of a lot of interference. That's why I wanted to know how to force lte. Using #2263# doesn't seem to work. I'm out of options.
You do realize it's *#2263# right?

Hi Friends,
I'm on the Canadian side. Bought the phone with Wind Mobile, had to activate with their SIM, but then unlocked it with an unlocking code Wind provided like two hours after.
I'm now on Telus network, but the phone does not show LTE. I do recall it showing 4G/LTE when I was using the Wind sim.
Anyone have any solutions? Suggestions?
Anyone? Many thanks
Does telus has LTE? Wind doesn't have LTE, it has 4g...i am on rogers... Just another question.. Do you have Mobile Data toggle? I don't hve it.

Yes Telus has LTE. Wind doesn't. I'm using the same SIM card I used on the iphone 6, and the iphone 6 displays LTE no problem with this SIM.
I don't think I have mobile data toggle.

Did you try changing the CSC to Telus? Maybe the fact that it's a wind phone disables the LTE. Just thinking out loud.

Sure thing! You need to go in your dealer and dial *#272*(insert imei)# this will take you to the csc page. If you don't know what your imei is dial *#06# and write it down. Make sure you write down the first 15 digits as it might give you 2 extra. (after a dash of course)
Once you're in there you should see your csc as GLW I think that's the wind one. If what you want is Telus then select tls.
If it's already tls leave it. That's won't resolve your issue.
***Warning***
This will wipe your device
Hope that works for you bud

Your phone supports LTE+. All Canadian Galaxy s7 edge models are same regardless of carrier and contain all network bands offered by the respective carriers. I believe Roger's offers 4g if I'm not mistaken which is quite similar to LTE+. If you want LTE+ just change your CSC to BMC and put in a bell Sim card as long as your phone is unlocked. Then u will get LTE+.
