Hi All,
The 1.13.604 update is failing for me and I will be the first to say its no ones fault but my own. After rooting my phone I used Titanium Backup to backup all programs and program data. Titanium made it look like everything went ok.
Then I used Titanium's uninstall feature to remove the following "bloatware":
Amazon MP3 1.7.22
City ID
Voice Search 1.4.0
NFS Shift 1.0
3G Mobile Hotspot 2.1-update1
Voicemail 1.0
Voice Commands
Skype Mobile 1.0.0.9
My Verizon 4.0
This morning I read that the 1.13.604 update can still be rooted so I tired to install it and it failed on me. Then I went back to titanium and attempted to restore the apps I removed and they all fail for some reason(I dont think it backed them up correctly). I have checked off "unknown sources" under applications. If someone could please post the APK files associated with these apps and list their respective install locations they would be my personal hero
Thanks in advance,
jvward
Update:
I have managed to get the following APKs:
Amazon MP3 1.7.22
Voice Search 1.4.0
Voicemail 1.0 - (this one is a maybe)
Voice Commands
My Verizon 4.0
I am using a Droid x dump to get them but if anyone knows the name of the 3G Mobile Hotspot 2.1-update1 apk or has a copy of it my spider sense tells me this is most likely the issue.
Thanks!

Sorry that I am of no help here, as I don't have the apk that u need. However, would u be kind enough to post how your situation turns out? I am curious. Thanks
Quick Question
Is there anyway to run logging while the update applies so I can see exactly what is failing. As of this point I have everything put back in its original location accept for the NFS shift Apk since I cant find it online. I am not sure if this is causing the error or something else. Is there a way through ADB I can see the progress of the update and what is not working
Try un-rooting then apply the update. Then re-root. Root does work with the 604 update (as I updated then rooted).

I believe 3G Mobile Hotspot 2.1-update1 is Mynet.apk. Please keep us posted on your results. I've rooted and I'm already at .604, but it's nice to hear that updates succeed.
May I ask which tool you are using to root? Also, do you unroot using that same tool?
Does anyone have the stock amazon mp3 apk for the Epic 4G? i am unable to update without it. I keep getting errors. thank you
From the Epic 4G dump found here.
I am having the same issue with the update as Amazon MP3 is the only program I removed that appears to be bloatware from Sprint... I installed the APK in this thread and still get the validation error when trying to update... is there anything I need to do with this file in particular to fix this issue? Any advice from an expert would be greatly appreciated... Thx
The thread of ManualNooter for 1.2 stock is getting pretty long, so I'm asking this in a new thread. I've only used AN in in the past, so I had planned to wait for AN for 1.2. Reading about MN it seems to give me everything that AN did.
So the point of this post is to ask if there is any reason to wait for AN?

There is some issue with manual nooter (see the last page or so of the hread) I, and others, are suggesting that it needs some additional work.
As usual, caveat emptor

GabrialDestruir is the author of both the 1.0.0 and 1.0.1 AutoNooter as well as the author of the ManualNooter, so it's all good.
The reason it's "manaul" right now is he wanted to get it out there, even though it's not a "one step" process right now.
ManualNooter is ran basically like your normal CWM Update file.
AutoNooter implies to me anyways, that it does it all automatically just pop the card in.
MN works wonderfully, easy to do, do it now!
So then the manual nooter is working fine and the only thing being worked on still is creating the auto version?
All my apps save for Google Calendar, Swift Key and Angry Birds work great.
Angry birds now working via
dropbox and install with sd card out.
Thanks for the replies. Think I'll go ahead and do it.
I'm pretty new at this, but I was able to follow Manual Nooter pretty easily and seem to have most things working.
I just have one question (and pardon if it's already been answered somewhere); the usual Google Calendar app and the usual Google Contacts app that I'm familiar with don't seem to be there. Looking down in the files I see sync GoogleCalendarSyncAdapter.apk, GoogleContactsSyncAdapter.apk and ContactsProvider.apk, but not the Calender.apk, CalendarProvider.apk or Contacts.apk.
Anybody know why these are missing and how I can get them working?
Thanks.

I'll be looking into Calendar and Contacts later this month if someone else doesn't get to it first as I have finals coming up.
I'm using MN 4.4.28 on 1.2 and have problem downloading B&N magazines (both those that were archived and new ones on subscription).
Message is "An Unexpected Error Occurred. Internal Error: Exception executing the command" for an attempt to update a subscription and "Unable to Download. Internal Error: Exception executing the command" for an attempt to download an archived magazine. Any way to fix?
See Later Post: MN 5.3 fixed the problem.

Uhm... not sure what could be causing this. Doubtful it has anything to do with MN/AN will look into it if anyone else has had this issue.
Flashed back to stock (using CWM backup). Magazines worked fine in stock. Ran MN 5.2 and problem is fixed! Thanks.
Is there a thread somewhere on XDA that gives any updates on when autonooter for those who want to wait for this program

I'm having this problem as well. Can't seem to interact with the B&N Store at all without getting some kind of "An Unexpected Error Occurred". Can't try to go back at the moment as I'm away from home. Anybody have another idea, otherwise just thought I'd report it in case it is something to be looked into.
Thanks.

Try the later (5.2) MN. Fixed the problem for me.
report from a newbie - i am really new to xda, and a new owner of nc. i did a manual update in my stock NC from 1.1 to 1.2 last night, then seeing that autonooter was only approved for 1.1, i decided to try ManualNooter 4.5.6 (For Stock 1.2) (link below) It worked just fine for me. THANKS-ALL!

Manual Nooter
First ---Thanks to everyone who's been working on getting this out so quickly. Even with the initial Market bugs it was way better then the stock option of 1.2.
I've updated the MN as it comes out and everything works just as others posted. Some apps from Market need the SD card removed to install and others install with no problem and sometimes all it takes is 'clearing data" to make it work. I also installed the NookHome app and love it!
Question: News and Weather which came with the .zip doesn't load at all. I tried clearing data - doesn't make a difference. When I click on the icon it tries to load but then just reverts to the home screen. Can't uninstall it either, no response when I click on uninstall (wanted to re-install to try fixing it that way). Any ideas what else I can try?
Manualnooter --News and Weather
I have the same problem. Tried to open News and Weather it turn screen black and went back to home screen.
Anybody have solutions for this?
TIA
I am definately a novice at rooting. The Nook Color is my first experience with an Android device, and I was able to run Manual Nooter fairly easy. Besides the usual obstacles of learning what CWM, root, flash, ROM, etc meant, and learning to burn an .img file on an SD card, it was fairly easy. I'm already looking beyond it, to see what the NC is capable of. Now if only I could get phiremod v6.3 to work....
Good Day
I just rooted my nook color 1.2 and everything works fine. I successfully downloaded Amazon's app store, now I when I attempt to download an app from the Amazon App Store (Kindle, Angry Birds, Bible ect) all say "Purchase Failed".
I tried this with a blank SD Card installed and without.
I've clicked an unclicked allow no market apps under nook tools.
I've attempted to search here and I have been unsuccessful.
Would someone please lend me a hand?
Thanks in advance
Okay so after playing around with it, I have to purchase it online then download through the app store. I cannot purchase and download it from the app store app in the nook.
Sorry for my ignorance.

I have no trouble using the app store app to install or purchase apps directly from my nook.
Your original post left me confused about whether you have the "allow non-Market installs" checked or not.
How did you root your nook?
I am having the same issue. I used to be able to installs Apps from Amazon. However, as of about a week or two ago, whenever I go to install it, I receive an error message that says, "Application Not Installed". I rooted using MN 4.5.6.
Keep in mind that most apps downloaded from Amazon require the Amazon App itself to be installed. Have read that this was uncovered recently.
If this is what you were referring to that is.
I'm having same problem... Mine says problem parsing package.. My android market is very limited and doesn't download either! Can anyone help me?
Please help I can't install Galaxy on fire 2 as it cancels the download and says a "file read error please try again"

I too am having this issue, though it could be just because I'm trying to run it on the TF300, which just came out recently.
Same here. But since RonDelgen said he got the same error on the tf300 i doubt it's a incompatilibity error with ARHD. Maybe someone with stock ICS could try to install it?
I have been playing Galaxy on Fire 2 for the last two days on my TF101. Stock, unrooted, .21. Only had one force close then after that stability. The latest update has fixed(for me) alot of the issues I have been having like force closes, bad game play and pixelated graphics. Because it is such a large file when I downloaded it I made sure I killed any unnecessary apps and had a stable network connection. Good luck. It is a great game.
After checking Fishlabs website this is a known issue which will be fixed soon. Sorry!
I think I found the issue
It's due to My tablet been rooted as the developers have a exploit of a sort in their app thus the game will not be playable on some rooted tablets, etc but as I workaround is downloaded them SD Files from the external sources and Voila! The game works!

Nothing to do with being rooted. I have an unrooted Transformer Prime and I am getting the file read error.
Downloaded GOF 2
This morning I rolled back ICS .21 to ICS .17(US) and was able to download the game. Don't know if Fishlabs fixed the problem or if there is a compatibility issue with the latest firmware. Just thought I would pass this on.
I had been getting the file read error on ARHD with test 17c kernel up until yesterday. Yesterday it suddenly decided to download fine and has been working great ever since.seems that they may have fixed the problem.

If you have a microsd in..try taking it out..or make sure its formatted to fat32 (not microsoft's default). I had the same problem, formatted it in linux as fat32 (was exfat) and downloading worked.
