Is there any way to share my wifi connection through my Nexus 7?
The situation is I broke my wifi card on my PC and would like to use my Nexus 7 as a router since there isn't one near my PC.
My Nexus 7 is connected to wifi already and I would like to share that wifi with the PC.
If anyone know if this is possible I'd appreciate it.
Thanks
Not possible unless u can plug an antenna like alfa card in your n7 and redirect the wifi to the card....
Forget about it. No driver for it and nobody did it. Not on android...
Or just buy alfa card on ebay for 20 bucks.... They are really good. I have 3.

I recieved my bluetooth dongle today and I am trying to tether my transformer to my PC over bluetooth. However I can not seem to figure out how to do it. Has anyone else done it? When I search for these things I only seem to find only bluetooth to a phone or file transfer between pc and tablet.

What is it you want to achieve over Bluetooth? File transfer? Internet connection sharing? Coffee making? Something else?
Internet connection sharing.
Worked for me on a windows xp netbook but was entirely pointless. The only reason I can think of is to use a 3g dongle for internet access.

I need it because at work we dont have wifi..... so my laptop's connection is the only one that I can attempt to connect my tablet to.
If your laptop does have WiFi, and you're running Windows 7, you could try Connectify.
Regards,
Dave
Connectify works perfectly! Wish I heard of that before getting a bluetooth dongle. However it would still be nice to know if it is possible to get Windows 7 to share the internet connection over bluetooth. From looking at some old forums it was in there in some of the early releases along with the wifi hotspot.... Good thing I only need it at the office. Thanks guys.
Is it possible to tether a smartphone to a Nexus 7 for internet - other than WiFi or Bluetooth? I want to have a physical connection for specific purposes, and NOT a wireless one.
The idea is that my Nexus 7 is permanently mounted in my vehicle and all I have to do is pop in my truck, dock my phone, and use Tasker to automate everything. There are a multitude of reasons why I CANNOT tether the two over WiFi or Bluetooth.
There are a million apps to connect a smartphone to a PC or MAC via USB, but none that I know of to connect a phone to a tablet. Thanks for any help guys. When I resolve this final issue I'll be able to start my new project.
PHONE
Droid RAZR MAXX HD
9.1.41.XT926.Verizon.en.US
4.1.1 (rooted)
TABLET
Nexus 7
4.2.1 (rooted // BL unlocked)
EDIT 14FEB2013: I think I may have found what I'm looking for. It's called PPP Widget in the Play Store . Will update when my OTG cable arrives next week. draisberghofDOTde/android/pppwidget.html

I'm unsure, but a USB OTG cable and USB Tethering might help you with that...

Thanks for the reply - it is much appreciated. I am aware that there are many tethering apps that take advantage of USB tethering, but my question is how would I go about tethering the phone to the tablet?
Just a question which I hope someone can answer for me.
Is it possible to use a 3G USB Dongle on the Nexus 7 Wifi only to have a working Internet connection when there is no possibility to use Wifi? I have a Vodafone USB 3G Dongle which works perfectly on my Iconia W700 tablet, but I would love to have it on the Nexus 7 as well. Has someone made this possible?
Check this thread, seems to be an updated list of working modems.

Yes, try it using PPP Widget, available for free in Play Store, and a USB OTG adapter (I use the smallest one, the type without cable).

Hi all, I've searched hard for this...
I just bought a D-Link Wireless N 150 USB adapter because I though it might help getting wifi reception on my Nexus 7 in my bedroom where it is currently poor.
I have a OTG adapter so I figured I could plug it in with that and off I go!
...The problem is installing the software.
The USB stick comes with a mini cd-rom with the software on it which makes it tricky to get it on to the Nexus.
So. I suppose my question is threefold:
1) Firstly, can this USB wireless thing work on my Nexus?
2) How can I make it work?
Wait, that's just two.
Help will be much appreciated and I will rampant with my thanks.

Why should you use a external Wifi-USB-thing? I think the Nexus has Wifi, thats enough. Its like putting two keyboards on one pc...
What you need is a Wifi-Repeater.
And that little guy is available on Amazon.
So much fun with your Nexus.

[Q] [HELP] Nexus 7 3g bluetooth tethering (as a host) to another android device
Dear all
I have got two devices:
Nexus 7 3g (2012), system 4.4 KRT16S, and it is rooted and as taughted by a post in this forum, I flashed a zip file to enable WIFI and bluetooth tethering.
Another device is Nexus 5
I want to make N7 as a host or say modem to share its internet connection to N5.
I want to use bluetooth tethering because it saves battery. What I did is paired N7 and N5, and on N7 in "settings"-"Tethering and hotspot", I enabled bluetooth tethering.
But on N5, in bluetooth, I click paired Nesus 7 icon, there is no profile icon, and no use for internet access check box.
Does any one how to make it work?
I know how to use a phone as host and let N7 to access internet via phone. It works well. But I really need to make N7 as a host and use bluetooth tethering.
Thank you very much!
Please help.
Has anyone successfully did this? Thanks a lot!
I also tried with another device, after paired with nexus 7, it also cannot see bluetooth profile where we can enable internet sharing.
