screen acting funny? NOT mis-aligned

so.. i get this new phone from tmob cuz my other one took a **** and im noticing an issue with the screen.. every so often it sorta gets like a blur or movement on it and it drives me NUTS! it seems to only happen in port mode not landscape. im not sure how exactly to describe it.. whenever it happens i put the phone in landscape then slide the keyboard back in and its gone but this is driving me up a wall. if i can get a screen shot while it happens ill post it..but does anyone have any idea whats going on?

here is some pics i snapped with the digital camera.. it doesnt show up on the pc when i sync the phone so this is deff a screen issue..
it seems to happen at only top and bottom of screen..not so much in the middle.. i know its not that today plugin causing the issue cuz it does it in txt msgs or im+ too.

try a fresh rom update, and see if it happens when you run the cpu at stock

well i called t-mobile and they are sending me a new one.. ive had 3 mdas in the past 2 weeks.. 1st one they sent had a bad charger port, 2nd one had a cracked face up by the IE button, 3rd has this screen issue.. i swear to christ if the 4th one has a issue im going to freak out.
on a side note, the guy told me that if i continue to have problems he has noted my acct and when the HTC Atlas aka T-Mobile Wing comes out that i can upgrade to that for free..so im hoping something else happens to my phone end of may/mid july.. haha

Is this a problem?

I just got this tablet recently, not too much surprise since i am already user android 2.2 rom on x10
But i notice there is time where this tablet fail to respond to touch command say after a long timeout. As in i can't move the bubble to unlock the screen at all
I tried to turn it off and the pop up wasn't even responsive at all to touch.
Is this a failure on my tab alone or anyone else have the same problem ?
Also it is common for the tablet to have a slow respond to screen switch and rotate a lot ? I found my tablet go portrait mode even lie down (i want it to be landscape).

please indicate what version you are running and what kernel.
i have no such problems running 3.1 upgraded tu .38

I've not had any problems like that yet.

No, I havn't had any issues and if you want to be landscape use the rotation lock switch, it's beside the volume butons.

Sorry, had to.... anyway, if you are running 3.0 and not 3.1 it could be the "Removal from Charger" issue and causes it to lock up? I dunno, like the others said, what is your current version?

Frankly I can't wait for someone to do a tear down to see what the exact hardware features and possibilities to mod the bajeebus out of the thing.
But this device is most likely a pass for me. Being as anything it can do, I can already do everything on my phone, netbook or laptop. There is a bonus however,the kindle touch 3g, has become a lot more affordable.

It would be awesome if the thing had an onboard microSD like the Nook Color does. Image it to a 32GB, swap them out and go.

iFixit posted a teardown here. Highlights:
-No hidden microSD. Sorry.
-what looks like a cast magnesium midframe. It should be pretty sturdy.
-WiFi module is identified as a TI WiLink WL1271 with bluetooth and FM support. This is the same chip as the Nook Color. Whether or not the BT or FM work is up to Amazon to have wired up to the right ports on the OMAP.

Bummer, oh well I'm still stoked to get mine tomorrow.

getting mine later today and am verrrry interested in the possibility of getting bt working.. after i root it and such, there any steps i should start with to see about getting it working?

at the bottom of the pic mostly cut off, you can make out the external antenna jack

Until there is a custom rom, there really isn't a way to tell since the Kindle OS won't let you even attempt to pair anything...since it wasn't meant to.

Just bought is pics and video coming but if you have 7 bucks get this epic game! It takes dead space and spanks it with better shooting and multiplayer action hot damn its fun!

so it plays good on this tablet? because i tried nova and mc3 and they seem to be hard to play on tablets becasue of the screen size

i bought dead space it was pretty epic ill buy it soon. how are the controls didnt favor mc3 or deadspaces?

Sorry people I haven't put what I said up yew it plays perfect just Google or YouTube mass effect android it plays amazing once I get some time ill add screen shots my a500 is taking leave as I'm developing on the galaxy note i717 and don't have much time on my beloved a500..

i did root using the ICS ROOT 2 TOOL though i cannot seem to be able to unroot
not showing up in my tablet play store

[Q] Weird grid after replacing touch screen digitizer

Hi All,
Been a while since I've visited since purchasing a Nexus 4.
Anyway, my Defy had a cracked screen so I got a new touch screen digitizer to put in it so my daughter could use it.
Got it installed just fine, without any issues.
However, shortly after installing it I noticed this odd grid showing up on the screen. It's only visible when the phone screen is dark colored.

Anyone have any ideas why that grid is showing? It's not a big deal, as my 3 year old daughter hasn't even noticed it. But if I were still using that phone it's something that would drive me insane. I'm mostly just curious as to why it's there.

I can't be certain but I also had the digitizer replaced and right away I noticed the grid. From what I understand each square is point to recognize touch. From looking at your pictures I would say that mine is not as prominent and I only see mine in lighter screens. I'm going to say its because it's not an original motorola defy replacement because when I compare with my other one (yes I have 2) there is no grid at all and the capacitive buttons are very different looking on the new one. I'm still trying to decide if I can live with it or not cause sometimes it does bug me.
