Hi,
I will appreciate if anyone will advise when the root for WE version will be available?
Noone knows. Maybe tomorrow, maybe never. Lenovo support said they will open the bootloader end of the year, but I think they just wanted to get me quiet...

Hi! I hope this is being posted in the correct place first and foremost.
I'm pretty pissed to find out today that EE will not be releasing the KitKat update for my G2
I received an email from LG confirming this and so replied with the obvious question 'How can I do it then please? '.
They said I would need to get my phone unlocked from EE. Now, being a complete noob when it comes to this sort of thing I don't really know what I'm doing. So I have a couple of questions I'd like to ask before I attempt any unlocking.
1. Once I've managed to unlock my phone can I still use the Sim Card that came with it? I have a 24 month contract with EE and can't really afford to run two tariffs.....
and
2. Is there not an easier way to go about getting KitKat? I had a Galaxy S2 and when I wanted to upgrade the firmware on there I used ODIN. But I can't seem to find a way that is similar to that for LG phones.......
I apologise if this post is not in the correct thread but I really would appreciate any help anyone could give me.
Many thanks!

well the g2 has a tool like odin if you looked in the general thread there is a return to stock guide which can be used to flash any firmware as long as its for your device, I do know that the d802 can flash any d802 kdz file even if it's for another carrier, I do not own one but you can always ask around to make sure you don't do something wrong
TL;DR Help a newbie with upgrading my rooted Note 3 from 4.4.2 to a more current version please. I'm old and dumb and really tried to find an answer before embarrassing myself on a forum of experts. Knowing me, the answer is probably right under my nose. Go easy on me <3
Hey guys,
I used the search function on this site and on google but was unable to find what I'm looking for.
I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 with T-Mobile. I have Android aversion 4.4.2 and my model number is SM-N900T.
I rooted my phone using a guide I found on youtube to get superuser for the purpose of being able to play emulators on my phone, such as Snes9x EX+, Nostalgia.NES Lite, ePSXe, etc. They all work great. I am not using a custom ROM.
The problem I'm facing is that I don't understand if I need to unroot (correct term?) my phone and just get the auto updates, or to download and install them manually, but I'm unable to receive auto updates over the air as I'm sure you guys would know since this is your hobby and are versed in this sort of thing. I don't even know how to do either really properly but am not afraid to try.
The reason I'm wanting to upgrade now (which might be completely unrelated) is that I haven't been receiving text messages from either my sister or my roommate, whom both of their last messages were received by me on Aug. 5th. I tried contacting my carrier and they said they didn't detect a problem. Both of their carriers said the same thing (one being T-Mobile as well). I guess this is just another step in troubleshooting but I would like to believe this is a network issue.
Any advice would help and would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.
Hello
I'm a new user here and i dont have technical fidelity so i beg for your understanding.
I'm planning to buy this tablet, since its not released officially in my country, the seller asked me whether i want chinese ROM or International ROM. I choose the International ROM, is it a good choice? I'm buying the 64/4 LTE version
Once i got it, I'm planning to upgrade it to the latest firmware and have it available to root but not planning to root it [just so in future if i need to root it, i can do it]. Is there any guide that can help me to do this?
I havent find one [might missed it] but is there any fool proof guide to do this? I'm really afraid to brick the phone since its not released officially in my country might not have any warranty.
Also is there any guide for the jargon used here? whats EMUI? whats TWRP? Whats bootloader?
Thanks, i'm new to these things so i hope for your understanding
Also a side question : will this tablet get Oreo support in future?
Hi all I'm super new to this so I'm hoping someone can help me and I hope I'm doing this right. Thanks for your time ?
I live in Perth, Western Australia and recently bought an unlocked ZTE axon 7 mini (ex display) from a local retailer for a steal.
I can't seem to get it to update though through its native update program (just says network unavailable)
It's running Android 6 marshmallow and I know that it can run nougat (I'm hoping Oreo too maybe? Or soon?) in other countries and I'm hoping one of you brilliant tech wizards can help me as I feel the phone will benefit greatly especially with the battery life. Here's it's particulars
Model - ZTE B2017G
Android v - 6.0.1
Build - ZTE B2017G APV1.0.0B01
If you need any more info (like baseband or kernel, not sure if you need that?) please let me know I'll update this thread.
Thanks again!
Did you manage to update your phone firmware?
So truth be told I have a G5 plus that nobody wants, completely wiped and restored and still has a good battery.
Now here's my question, it's a XT1687 version PVTB w/ the AMZ variant. I did try the traditional method of unlocking the bootloader via Lenovo and was informed I could not. Fine. Does that mean I am SOL upgrading the ROM to a newer version of Android? I have read some conflicting opinions but I am not an expert with phones.
So just to clarify could one of you experts here tell me one way or another if it's at all possible? Why I ask is I would like to learn how to do this better and if I should brick this phone it's not the end of the world.
Thanks again for your help, believe me I did try to solve this myself.

I don't believe there is any other method to unlock the bootloader.
