I've had my NC since February. It was factory 1.0.1 version, and I updated it to 1.2 when it was released. Everything worked okay, even after the upgrade, until - about 4 days ago - after I had used the 'Size-agnostic SD Card image and CM7 installer for SD Cards' (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1000957)
After I had removed the uSD I'd made for that, the NC seemed to take a lot longer to boot up. Next thing that happened was that the 'power off' pop-up would randomly appear. If I chose 'cancel' all would be well... but as likely as not the pop-up would reappear a second time. Once past the two pop ups it would operate normally as far as I could tell. But then it started to close itself down occasionally, and frequently failed to boot up fully, stalling on the first boot screen, so may times that it went into setup on its own and reinstalled the factory 1.0.1 firmware.
I had made a back-up uSD before all these troubles - using CW 3.0.1.0. I tried to restore my back-up (formatting 'data' and 'system' first). Didn't solve the boot problem, and even the boot of CW on uSD sometimes just stopped - as if the NC turned itself off - or stalled.
I have a uSD with phiremod 6.3 on, and that seems to run pretty well.
I've subsequently tried the 8 failed boots, power + n, repartition-boot-with-stock (using 4Gb clockwork 0.7), and using that same CW 'nook-complete-restore-1.0.1.zip.... all this without any real success.
The latest situation is that when I power on, there is a successful boot up - but slow, and when I try to power down the power off pop-up appears but before I can click on 'power off' the screen blanks. Pressing 'n' brings it back complete with the pop-up. I click on 'power off', something momentarily flashes on screen (so fast I can't see what it is, but guess it is the confirmation pop-up) and about 15-20 seconds later the unit turns off.
Does anyone have an idea of what my problem is? Is it faulty do you think? I'm in Europe so can't really return to B&N.
Any suggestions would be very welcome.
I've been getting this recently with 3 GB roms and 2 kernels on E22 modem. It happens when I restore my apps+data using Titanium Backup and reboot. This is "user apps" only. I'm working on restoring in batches to troubleshoot, but there are way too many so I got a logcat as well.
Order of events:
Boot -> media scan -> delay of 60-120sec -> restart rom (does NOT show kernel or rom splash screens on restart)
------ loop
I can't seem to pinpoint the offending app. It's also possible that it may be too many of them, or too many on SD. It happens on battery power, on AC, and on USB with airplace mode on/off.
Any ideas how to solve this?

Oh, and the log was stopped as soon as I saw the screen turn off. There's definitely data in there from the subsequent restart.
Okay, I finally had time to update my A500 to ICS I was at 3.1 and was rooted. I went through several updates to get to ICS. 3.2, 3.2.1, a small patch, then 4.0.3. After the update finished, saying it was successful, my tab will reboot itself no longer than 30 seconds after it gets to the lock screen I don't have time to uninstall any apps that might be interfering with startup, not that i could tell whats doing it, and i don't have time to do the factory reset through the system menus Not sure why but the recovery (power&vol boot) only displays a red triangle over a dead droid so, guess my actual question is, how could i go about correcting this issue? I have ADB if needed, but I don't know were to start. any help would be appreciated. THANKS.

Okay, so I managed to turn off the wifi on my tab and it seems to stop restarting. When I do turn on the wifi, several apps give an error that they have stopped. after the second one pops up the tab then restarts unless the wifi is shut off. Any ideas as to what this may be would be appreciated.
Hi, sorry to say that i have the exact same problem.
Updated today from 3.2 to 4.0.3 and after first boot started the reboot sequence that only stopped after I managed to switch off the wifi...
I investigated a little but it seems this is quite an isolated issue... and all ways are leading to the factory reset...

Note: Clean boot will erase all the data/information which is saved on your tablet. Recommend you to back up the data before performing a clean boot. (yeah, like you can get in there to save it
1. Shutdown the power (press the power button for long time to shutdown).
2. Press and hold volume up key (the key next to rotation lock) until you finish step 4.
3. Press power button for 3 seconds until you feel device vibrates then release power button.
4. Once you feel device vibrates, very quick to switch on/off "rotation key" many times (this activity has to be done very fast, otherwise it will not success). To ensure you success, switch on/off rotation key when Acer logo appears on screen.
5. Wait for a while (you will see Erase Userdata and Erase Cache on top-left corner on screen), device will reboot and start from OOBE screen.
Managed to get it to work. Appreciate the help. Runs like a champ now.

When a process becomes unresponsive I get, "unfortunately the process %1$s has stopped." The text & buttons will be squished (in Portrait). The %1$s will also appear in the Settings > App info pages. Force quitting a process will quit it but the system message will read "Just once." Any way I can fix this?
Secondly, Power Menu Reboot into Recover or Bootmenu only give me a regular reboot.
Any way fix this?

I just re-rooted my nook. Its 1.1 and i used the autonooter 3.0.0. Using this guide to install Phiremod for my NC (http://quinxy.com/technology/comple...od-7-install-and-configuration-on-nook-color/) and im having some issues. In step 1 it tells you to install CWM, and the easiest way to do that is to use the autonooter 3.0.0 which it comes with. I did that and it says it should be installed but check the app market to be sure.. isearched ROM MANAGER for it since it says to search that it isnt there. So it says you can also the do

but everytime i do that nothing happens. it just starts up normally.. I re-installed the auto-nooter 3.0.0 and still nothing. can someone please help me? im no genius when it comes to this stuff but im trying my best and searching the web for answers..
