I cannot find any information about the scratch resistance properties of the new (thin) Galaxy Tab 10.1 screen.
Do you know which material is used? Gorilla glass, normal glass, plastic...
What do you think about its scratch resistance properties in general?
Thanks!
I'm curious to know as well. I saw this short clip on YouTube for the 10.1v. I hope the new 10.1 has the same glass.

So today, after owning my S3 for 6 days, I dropped it on the cement and the top glass cracked. Everything works still, just it looks terrible.
Is there any way to replace only the too glass? Or does the entire LCD/digitizer need to be replaced?
Sent from my AT&T Samsung Galaxy S3.

As for how to do it, look at YouTube or around the net for instructions.

No dont waste your money buying the glass. The glass is useless, the LCD screen and Touch screen digitizer along with the glass are all one piece fused together. There is no way you can just get the glass and think of replacing it, you will break you LCD and get no where. You need to order one of the full LCD with Touch screen digitizer assembly.
Yea the rumors say that the Samsung Galaxy S4 will come with a flexible display, but why do we need the flexible display if the battery and motherboard and other components aren't flexible yet? well this is a video from Corning, they uploaded it this morning, they said that the device can't be flexible but they can make curved screens, corning is in the process of making curved glass I guess (?) so I GUESS we can expect a really nice curved display in the Galaxy S4? Anyway here's the video, this isn't in any tech site yet and I don't know if they're gonna put it but here it is

This doesn't appear to have anything to do with the GT-I9100.

I was wondering if our device has a scratch-resistant (Gorilla Glass), and i asked it on Samsung Live chat confirmed that it does have Gorilla Glass, but he doesn't know which version it is (I tought it's the first gen of Corning display)...

I am not 100% sure but I think tab 2 don't have gorilla glass because if it has why would Samsung not make it official in product promotion????

Tab 2 no it doesn't have Corning Gorilla glass, the galaxy tab instead it.
See the section "product with gorrilla" on the site corninggorillaglass
googled it quick, and it seems it doesn't.
"Although the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 will not offer Gorilla Glass, it will offer Samsung's own Glass panel that offers impact, shatter and scratch resistance." - Samsung rep.
I think it is not the official Corning Gorilla Glass, but it has a resistant screen. I've seen a lot of drop test on youtube, and the SGT2 was the only tablet I've seen so far to resist falling directly on the screen.
Wish the screen had anti-fingerprint protection, because mine gets very oily, with low usage.
Hi everyone !
I dropped my Samsung S10+ last weekend and the front glass broken, but the screen are working fine.
I know that this kind of damage are not covered by Samsung warranty, so I checked with some local repair shop.
No one seem to replace just the glass, their replace the screen and the glass together, this mean, a expensive reparation cost.
I asked them why their don't replace only the glass, but I only receive anwser like 'We don't replace glass, we change the screen who come with the glass"
Do you know why their won't replace the glass only ?
I seen on Amazon some front glass at only 40$ CAD with tool, UV adhesive and lamp. I confortable to do it myself. I watched some videos, but seem that everyone dissasemble the phone completly to change the glass on the screen.
Why not just removing the glass directly ?
Thank you for your anwser !
I think it is because the oled panels in this phones are so thin that separating the front glass from them would break them.
