Does Nexus 7 have any rivals? I mean rivals with close performance?
In the same price range? Frankly, no. For the sub-$200 market, the nexus destroys anything else out there. The only competitor that comes close is the KF HD, but it mainly focuses on build quality, not raw performance.

That? If the screen was good, I would sell it

Samsung makes a few 7 models, not directly comparable. The galaxy tab 2 has an sd card, rear camera, but not as nice of screen or processor. The 7.7 has an amoled screen but a higher price.

well, the nexus 7 has a better advantage with the processor, but the fire is better running because of a total specs list that makes up for the processor.

What fire HD spec is better then the Nexus? Only thing the Kindle fire has over the Nexus is, HDMI, better speakers and slightly better screen.
The Nexus is absolute the more powerful device.

You answered your own question. Spec is more than processor speed.
You pays your money and takes your choice !
What I think is fantastic is just how the Nexus 7 and KF HD offer really good devices for a modest price.
and no Apple margins to have to pony up for.
Both Nexus 7 and KF HD are very very good value for money. Pretty much at Cost.

If you want a good multimedia experience:KFHD

I have both, I like both.
At Home I use the Fire HD
At Work I use a XYBoard 8.2 (I need the bigger screen)
Everywhere else I use the Nexus 7
Multimedia goes to the Fire HD hands down, My headphone pause control works on the Fire HD, but not on the Nexus 7. (and it works on the XYBoard too) The screen has better colors on the Fire HD. The speakers are AWESOME on the Fire HD. To watch a movie on the Nexus 7 without headphones, I have to cup the speaker with my hand. Forget trying to listen to music on the Nexus 7 without headphones.
Roadworthiness goes to the Nexus 7. It slides right into my pants pocket. The Fire HD...not so much - I can cram it in with some effort. I actually use the Face Unlock which is great when you are on the run. Google Now has pulled my chestnuts out of the fire on multiple occasions. (I carry a Verizon MIFI in my shirt pocket) The GPS on the Nexus 7 ROCKS.
But to tell the truth, the XYBoard is my favorite. It is thinner than either of the other tablets. The screen is as good as the Fire HD but larger The speakers are way better than on the Nexus 7 (but still not quite on par with the Fire HD) The GPS comes a close second to the Nexus 7. It is the same width as the Fire HD, so I can cram it in my pocket just like the Fire HD, but it doesn't slip in like the Nexus 7. Of course it cost as much as both the other tablets put together...:silly:
Why or why not, please explain.
Go!

I like this phone more than my gnex except for not having a removable battery. It's much faster than both of my last 2 phones.

Yeah, I am perfectly happy with the Nexus 4 as well.
Initially didnt intend to upgrade from the Galaxy Nexus, but then that one died a painful, painful death on a Bar Counter.
Couldn't be happier, it feels extremely solid and is fast as hell. With the custom kernels out there you get the battery to get you through the day, I dont need anything else.
I have had the Nexus S, Galaxy Nexus and now the N4. Hands down it is a better device. It feels like a premium device, rock solid with no squeaks etc.
You can keep holding out for better devices, but then you will never buy one! Bigger and better phones are always around the corner.
Besides, the differences now are so small, it really doesn't make sense to wait.
Sent from my GT-N5110 using xda app-developers app
yeah definetely.
had the Galaxy Nexus, and altough I really liked, it doesnt feel like the N4.. and once you have the N4. the GN with that plastic back starts to look like a cheap cell
Im using my gnex while my N4 is charging and yes the N4 feels superior than my gnex, way faster too... The N4 is the best Nexus to date!

Best device I've used.

I miss the curved screen on my GNex. Otherwise I'm very happy to have made the upgrade. There isn't anything I have thrown at this phone which it can't handle.
I have owned all of the Nexi except the Nexus S.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
I ask because this is the only nexus I've owned and I think I'll only replace it with another nexus. I came from a galaxy s 4g so yes my nexus is much faster, I like the feel of the custom roms the utility of the phone.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
Best for me and I always prefer the latest Nexus!
I have actually owned the original Nexus One, Nexus S, and the Galaxy Nexus, and now the Nexus 4.
My top 2 choices would have to be the HTC One, but the N4 is the best with the Nexus S being 4th place.
I've had every nexus phone and it's my personal favorite and objectively the best all around Nexus device.
I do miss the car dock for the Nexus One though, who do we have to kill to get an inductive charging bluetooth car dock for the N4?
I've owned the nexus one, galaxy nexus and now the N4.
N4 gives me the same feel as the nexus one did when I first go it. Mainly "WOW. THIS IS AMAZING." Something that the GN couldn't do. Perhaps it's my samsung hatred.
But yeah, the N4 is by far the best nexus i've ever had.
Yeah it is. But Nexus One blew my mind when it came out. So to me its the best
This being my 3rd Nexus of course it is :good::good::good::good::good::good:
Dropping Sprint (have given them 3yrs to "fix" coverage in my area) and my Note 2. Going to T-Mobile and a Nexus 4. Anyone gone from a note 2 to a nexus 4?
I've went from a N4 to a note 2 and then back to my N4 . Both great devices the note is just to big
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
I did the same as the guy above. I bought it about a month ago and really didn't like how AMOLED displayed whites. When comparing displays, I thought the nexus was much better.
Also, I didn't find the spen to be all that useful, although came in handy once or twice. The phones are pretty equal in terms of speed. Battery life is much better on the note, camera is much better on the note, and the display size didn't make it stand out IMO. They have the same resolution so it displayed the same amount of stuff.
I figured the note would be out dated around August when the note 3 comes out and the nexus will continue to be updated for a while.

I just traded my note 2 for the N4 I have now. Couldn't be happier. Even with the drop in specs/screen. I love this damn phone.

Agree, for flashing hoolic like me, I prefer Nexxus 4 the awesome device ..
I just feel its so much more comfortable to use. I used the note 2 for a week straight to see if I could get used to it but it just didn't feel right . To me the only thing that's great on the note is the battery life.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
I have nevered used a Note before but I'd like to try it. The batter battery life and camera are huge attractions to me. It's just the size that I feel will be too big for me as I have a Nexus 7 already.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
Once you go Note, you can't go back. I miss the size of the Note 1's screen and still not used to the Nexus 4 (had it since Dec). The Note 2 basically fixes all the problems of the Note 1, but costs $700. I didn't want to spend that much so I "settled" for a Nexus 4. For the price, the Nexus 4 is worth it, but I would have bought a Note for the same price.
I have had both. I don't understand how someone can say the note 2 has a better camera.
Only pros of note 2 : better battery. S-pen , Case options . Bigger screen & features 'if' that is for you.
Other than that, that's it.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium
Nothing quite like some guy with an otterbox defender on a note 2, holding the phone to his ear. It's one of the most ridiculous things to witness. It's kinda like me holding my N7 to my face like I'm making a call. Hilarious.
I used Note 2 for six months and I loved it then sold it and got N4. I miss the Note 2's camera and big screen but N4 is much better looking phone with much professional built quality. I will keep N4 for a while.
I went from a note 1 to an n4 after 3 months. Just couldn't get used to the size of the note. The n4 works much better for me.

not even in my wildest dreams...hell no
My GNexus died. It was great device, i mean it provided great user experience in spite of really average specs (like very poor GPU). I think optimization in case of ti-omap was relatively more advanced than it is in case of snaprdagon s4 pro maybe due to ti's more open policy. Gnex cannot measure up hardwarewise to N4. It can hardly handle more demanding live wallpapers without lag. Its screen is the biggest flaw -grainy, horrible horizontal banding. But still touch responsiveness and scrolling experience is very smooth. To be honest I preferred stock browser experience on my gnex than the one provided with n4 and chrome. Just pinch to zoom and scroll. Literally, heaven and earth difference. But that's the end of gnex's advantages over n4 I noticed so far. I completely disagree with those criticising our lcd-ips screen. It's awesome! I really don't feel the need for 1080p screen. And... 2 GB of ram + 1,5 GHz x4 krait. Why would I downgrade to Gnex? N4 is all I need

I just sold my Kindle Fire, so i need a new tablet. I have enough money for bothe but. So l, I thought why not a TF300? I found a $200 Refurbished TF300(32 GB) for sale so its a very strong competitor to the N7. I listed out the possibilities of the Cons and Pros.
TF300 (32GB)_________________________________•
Pros:
•Has a 10.1 in. Touch Screen with IFT.
•Has 32 GB of Memory.
•Has a actual ultrabook keyboard.
•Is made by ASUS.
•Has Android 4.1
Nexus 7 FHD(16GB)______________________________•
Pros:
•Has Super High PPI
• Has Android 4.3+
•Has a actual ultrabook keyboard.
• Its a Nexus
• Has 2GB of RAM
•Its made by ASUS
Cons of TF300:
•Has 1GB of RAM
•Doesnt have Official 4.2+ Support of Android
•Too large to travel
•Has Lower PPI
•Is a 1 year old device
Cons of a N7 FHD:
• Has a 16 GB Memory
• Has Build as well as Screen and Hardware Problems
• Vulnerable to Break Downs
• Screen is too small
Help me decide which is better, please.

Are you worried about performance? Cause the new Nexus is a LOT faster than the TF300.
Just using the devices will show you that. The TF300 is no slouch don't get me wrong, but the I/O performance coupled with the 1GB ram and (now outdated) tegra 3.. just doesn't stack up to the Nexus. If you can live without the keyboard and don't mind a 7" screen, go for the Nexus straight away.
The thing is there are soooooooo mmmaaaannnnny problems with the N7 that you just don't want buy it but the hardware is too good.

I have both, and to be honest, I'd take the new n7 10 times out of 10.
Its smaller, battery is better, screen is better, vanilla Android, faster processor... If you want to store all your data on one device, then I'd steer you to the tf300, otherwise, go with the n7, without a doubt.
And an FYI, I had the first n7, and had zero issues as well. I have sent my tf300 in twice for warranty work.

I would go with an Asus memo 7 hd over the nexus same basic design with an sd card. Albeit a slower soc lower ppi it can be had for 150$ the nexus 10 looks sexy.

It connects to bluetooth speakers just fine, but you'll have to try you luck with bluetooth keyboard. It will connects to an Apple bluetooth keyboard, but a key will hold every minute or so. Which makes it unable. Then I have this motorola bluetooth keyboard that won't even connect at all. The multi touch issue was fixed in a recent update. There is also a problem with the GPS locking up in one location which I'm not sure if it was fix during the update.
