Let me start ff by saying I'm running the latest Glazed Jelly Bean ROM and have looked for a solution to this for about a week now. It seems that after a while of browsing images, regardless of the app, the images either don't load fully (remain pixelated [Minoriko]) or dont load at all in full screen [Google Play app screenshots]. Either way, its very annoying.
I seem to have found a work-around where you close out of the app and close it via "active applications" and then restart it, but this is really bothersome considering it happens after 2 mins of browsing.
What I first thought is that the app cache is filling up quickly so I I tried to keep cleaning that, but it doesn't make too much of a difference. Any ideas what is causing this?

Its been over 24 hours and no reply. No one have any idea on what the problem may be? Any help will be appreciated.

I don't know if anyone else has been having this issue but I've been having a starnge problem on the gingerbread leak. This has been present for both stock and drod's blurrybread rom.
When using my browser to watch videos, I will often leave the browser running and use different apps while the video is loading. This was fine until I went to gingerbread. When coming back to my browser, I would find that the browser had stopped running and had to reload the page causing me to lose all progress on the loading video. I have tried several different browsers and the same thing has happened.
Is there any way to stop this? It really is a pain to have to stay in the browser and watch it load
Nobody at all?
I'm pretty sure Gingerbread is still at the default of 25mb of ram free at least. But you can try downloading spare parts and changing it to mild or non-aggressive whatever it's called. What I usually do is use a task killer to end all my apps before opening the browser, since flash takes up a lot of memory. That way if I do close out of it for a second it usually won't get killed. Hope this helps.
Thanks for the reply. But it is usually fine if I go back after a second. I'm talking aboutt if I leave for 15-30 minutes. Is there a way to exclude the browser I use from the internal task killer?
Not that I know of. I think Android decides how "important" the app is to keep open. Usually their apps come first.
That makes sense. I'll have to find a way to set my own priorities inside of it
My xoom force closed the browser then restarted itself two days ago and ever since then it has force closed any and every app it attempts to ope or run the widget for.... Has anyone else had this problem? i dont want to hard reset because I have about 24 Gigs of Data I want to keep and cant move right now. I dont know what the problem Is this has all happened out of nowhere If any info is available please help.
You might have a widget causing the issue or some other app that is running in the background. Install Android Assistant and reboot the Xoom, open AA and check the processes tab. See if you notice anything running in excess.
Other than that, it sounds an awful lot like the JS Browser issues, but I don't remember seeing where this was affecting other apps, only apps that use WebKit.

This is my second Iconia, my first one I rooted the day I got it and 12 days later, my Iconia wouldnt stay connect to the internet. But anyways, I have tried Dolphin for Pad, Stock Browser, and even firefox for my Iconia. Everytime I browse a forum, or watch a simple video file on any of these browsers, it will force close. I have searched the forums to see if its a known problem or not. I typically will have no more than 2 tabs per browser open at a time. My question is, does anyone else have this problem, is there anything I can do to correct this?
The other issue I am having is, after switching over to a new tab the page will refresh itself losing its place/download progress of a video etc. Is there any way to correct this so it doesnt do that?
My Iconia is currently stock on 3.1 ( just in case I want to roll back to root access)
And this is happening with multiple browsers? If so, the refresh problem is also happening? That is extremely bizarre, and I unfortunately do not have much to offer than to let you know that this does not happen to me at all.
I can only confirm that this does not happen to me also, but I have applied all the latest updates, so maybe one of the updates has addressed this issue. Have you checking the system log (logcat or android system info app) to see what if any error is being thrown?
First of all, you need to update, 3.1 is so old school. Secondly, you can easily root 3.2 these days. Third, have you tried Opera, never had a problem with it. The other 2 you mentioned dolphin pad and firefox are beta releases.
Wow, that is kinda bizarre. I'm on rooted stock 3.2.1 and use Dolphin browser for tablets and don't have any of these problems. If you are interested in rooting and flashing a different ROM, I'd say go ahead and do it, and see if that fixes the issue. I generally read most of the posts on here, and have never seen anyone with a problem like yours. The closest thing I've had happen is the very occasional FC with Dolphin if I have tons of tabs open and try to DL a file or something. Sorry thats not much help, but maybe a new ROM might fix whatever is messed up for you.
Have you updated your Adobe Flash player in the marketplace? I had the same problem as yours before. Then I checked the market and there was an "update" button for adobe flash. So I updated, and the browser didn't for close after that.
I've got the same problem when a few apps are running in the background and when I try to open web pages that are a bit heavy (containing movies or large photographs, for instance).
I had the same problem with the stock browser and the Dolphin browser...
My guess is that the amount of RAM memory is not high enough... Maybe I'm wrong but it sounds to me simply logical.
No troubles for me either..
im wondering if you two are on the same sites d/loading playing the same videos..
i have issues with some site on my iconia netflix search function.. and similar boxes on other sites.. But some sites its fine..
i suggest do as told above.. get on a version of 3.21 try the honeylicious or other great near stock roms.. then if your trouble continue check with other web sites that you normally dont go to ..
Good Luck..
Thank's Renee
I will follow your advice and avoid webpages that include photos or videos.

Yep, I agree.
You would be surprised the number of apps attempting to contact the Internet in the background. You could install 'Advanced Task Killer' (free version from the Android Market) and check if the RAM is running low prior to streaming a video.

For my experience of coming from ICS to this new official JB release I9300XXDLJ4 BTU.
I liked to see this phone being up-to-date on latest OS and getting better performance (Keep the good work up, Samsung!), but there are still bugs and issue that are found in this rom.
Which bug/issue annoy you the most? and wish to get fix in the next update by Samsung?
1) Lag on opening Contact and Dialer - It is more noticeable in JB, since all other apps open faster but not these two which should get speed up or keep in memory.
2) Multi-task with games and apps - when open 1 game and then play another game at the same time it will close and reload the 1st game from the beginning no matter how many free memory you have. Not cool at all. [Fix: bestMultiTaskingFix 5 by mattiadj read this]
3) Wake up from home button problem - On screen turned off, when press the home button instead of going back to your active apps you use before screen off, it go to home screen. This is very annoying and it affect everyday use. [Fix: No wipe need. Go to Application List -> S-Voice ->Settings -> Keep "Open via the home key" ticked. ]
4) Slow wifi problem - The wifi speed is found to be slower in JB compared to ICS.
5) Gallery full screen problem - There is a black bar on top of Gallery's photo in full screen mode.
6) Battery drain - Some user have report battery drain on JB. It could be likely that it need a full charge after flash to get correct battery level. Some user report flash + full wipe could solve it. I will spend a few more days on test.

Please post any issue you have experienced or workaround you have found useful on JB rom.
My findings with all this
1) I don't notice
2) I loaded up dead trigger & riptide gp, both restart from the point I left them. No idea what I'm doing differently.
3) Not affected by that
4) See 3
5) I don't think it's a bug, maybe a feature of the gallery
Definitely multitasking...

1 and 1 and 1. How can you release a firmware with one of the most important apps laggy????

None of those. I would like copy and paste to understand the gaps inbetween sentences and paragraphs ideally don't need removing when copying large bodies of text. It was the same in ICS and I can't believe it's the same with stock JB.

Can you explain more what problem you have on battery drain? I only have used a few days.
What battery drain? No problems here...
This thread is making me yawn...
Thanks for quoting me! Glad to see that people are taking these problems seriously!
I recently wiped my phone in order to test whether that made a difference. None, unfortunately! I'm a heavy phone user and I notice the little things. I have seen people here saying that multitasking works. YES, it does but with apps!!! Apps resume their state, most games do not! The same games used to resume their state on ICS but they don't on Jellybean. Also, Android System keeps consuming a LOT of my battery. I've got the same setup and the same games/apps on JB as I had on ICS. There's a huge difference! It's quite annoying.
Another thing they need to fix is they need to give the Video Player its own brightness controls. I know that the system controls are just a swipe away but why take away a good feature, Samsung?

It feel that it need to list all the bugs here, this help people finding/raising the solution of the same problem. One day, it could be all solved.
For the battery drain, I am waiting for more of battery stats.
Brightness controls on video player could well be another motion as an option. That would be a good feature to show off.
Mine seemed fine at first, but freezes randomly and often takes over a minute for the camera app to start.
Tried, but didn't help-
Disabled the factor version of Facebook and the Facebook app manager. Re-installed FB from the play store.
Tried, and helped some-
Uninstalled Action Launcher. Simply switching back to the stock launcher seemed to help moderately at least in the launcher UI. Did not help with the camera.
Removed 128GB SD card. I was using this to store all my pictures and music. Quite inconvenient to go without it, but it did help some. Camera still opens slow, but it is more like 10 - 15 seconds rather than 1-2 minutes.
Tried, and helped a lot-
Developer options- Background process limits set to 'at most 4 processes.' This helped a lot. There was still random slowdowns, but never had a frozen screen for longer than a second or two. Unfortunately this made some apps misbehave, especially facebook when opening via a notification.
Seems to be fixed for the most part on Oreo.
