Package file invalid! - Google play - Blade General

Hey, I recently updated my blade to tillal's unofficial CM9. It was all fine till the apps downloaded from the play store do not install. The error is Package file invalid.
I have already checked out all possibilities like clearing data,cache.. reinstalling gapps etc. Everything works except this. Please help me out.
PS clearing data leads to error that app is not installed. Then in this case gapps have to be reinstalled.
Thanks in advance

I don't know why people still keep using that old unsupported rom. It hasn't been updated for months and is abandoned.
Use konstaKANG ICS or JB instead.

I had the same problem but it may not be the same answer. There is a new Market out, which is bloated with jpegs. It seems that there are different Markets for each phone model. I'm running i9100 too. So, look for vending.apk sgs i9100 and download it. It may not install when you try it. In that case you will need a rooted phone. Delete vending.apk from system/apps then copy the downloaded one to same directory, do not install it. Reboot the phone. It should now work. If it doesn't, you will have to try and download another version of vending.apk

@TheGhost- Tried ur suggestion but still having the problem.
@inkyadrian- Will try your suggestion n let u know...
Mine just updated itself today to the new version that includes books and video. It didn't even ask. I was on Wi-Fi and it kept saying "no network found, retry?" When I went back to 3G it updated itself but it took awhile. I don't know if this might be related to your issue.

Flashing Gaap's Succesful but no changes - CM9 0.2 beta

I've succesfully flashed cm9 0.2 beta (from jokersax's site) and everything is working fine. However, after flashing the gaap's there is no change. I am not able to get the android marketplace app or any of the google app's in the package.
my CWM gives no errors and it says the package installs properly.
If anyone has any suggestions I'd be very greatful!
has anyone had an issue similar to this?
version 10? Did you install AFTER you flashed the Rom?
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
I've tried both v10 and v9. - and yes I flash them after already installing the rom. I've followed the procedure properly but nothing's showing up.
Have you tried re-downloading the gapps zip and flashing again? Try doing a system wipe, wipe all of your caches and whatnot, then re-flash 0.2 beta and gapps v10. My atrix has flashed everything properly, but then again this is still in beta so there's going to be problems somewhere.
I've literally done exactly that 3-4 times and it doesn't work. The rom installs perfectly but there are no google apps in it when I'm booted in.
these are my steps
- boot into recovery, perform wipe, including cache
- install 0.2 cm9
- flash gaaps v10 in the same way as 0.2 cm9
- turn on phone
the os is great but there is no market or any google apps. I was hoping to get face unlock going ><
Wipe dalvik too.

Oh OK my bad. This has never happened to me. Gapps always includes atleast the market. Maybe try another cm9?
I've trued turl's aswell using his gaap's and it still doesn't work.
Geez. The only things I can suggest is a fasboot wipe or PM Turl or joker.
That's really odd.
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
how do I perform a fastboot wipe? Also, is there a way to force app installation in fastboot?

What version of CWM are you using? If you're not using the latest, GAPPS may say it installs ok but will not actually install. I believe the latest is 5.0.2.7 or 5.8.1.8 if you're using Touch. Others have reported this same problem and updating worked for them.
Yea... that is quite odd. I've installed i believe at least 2 or 3 different versions of Joker's CM9, along with the Gapps kit, and have always gotten at least the Market, which is the general requirement for just about EVERYTHING.

Easiest thing to do would be to probably install Rom Manager and then update CWM through it.

[Solve] Everybody have problem with google play?

when google play update to version 3.7.13 and can't download app from play store.Who can solve this problem?

Not working cause play stroe will automatic update to 3.7.13 and the problem coming again.
With the Rom Slim Ics, there is a fix to avoid the playStore update.
The play store does not like the modifcation of DPI, it is maybe the problem
Not exactly same here
I manually downloaded google play store 3.7.13 from apktop and installed it to my Sgs running GamerzRom Ninja v11 JW5 and to my tf300t tablet running stock us.30 firmware.
At sgs there was no problem and i can download everything but on Tf300t couldn't download anything.
Installed the previous google play store which for me was 3.5.19 and no downloads. Wiped data/factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache didn't solve the problem at all.
Had to do a fresh install of the latest firmware (us.30) and then installed the 3.7.13 and worked.
Hope they find what is happening to prevent us from future problems.
Same problem here. Tried anything I could think of but the latest google play version won't install/update apps no matter what.
Edit: Apparently google is aware of the problem and working on a fix:
Download issues on Samsung Galaxy S Plus devices running Android 2.3 (Gingerbread)
We've gotten some reports that users with Samsung Galaxy S Plus devices running Android OS version 2.3 (Gingerbread) are having trouble using Google Play. We're aware of this issue, and we're currently working to resolve it.
As a temporary workaround until we fix the problem, you can uninstall updates to the Google Play app by following these steps:
Tap Menu > Settings > Applications > Manage
applications
Find the ""All"" tab
Scroll down to Play Store and tap to select
Tap "Uninstall updates"

I installed the 3.5 version, cleared data and cache and it hasn't updated to 3.7 yet. Can't be sure it won't do it later though.
Yesterday it was updating immediately , now I have the original version all the time (i'm opening Store very often just to check).

I have also the same problem. And I think uninstalling updates doesn't fix it because it will again update automatically.
I also found deleting cache would help, but hasn't worked for me.
Hope, Google will fix it fast (already 10 updates missing )

Ok sorry, I didn't. I also thought that Android Market (3.3.12) isn't still supported, but it seems like it is (it's updating...).
Thx for your help
Edit: It has now auto-updated to 3.4.7, but still able to update / install
i had the same problem (error 905) but after a few days the problem was gone without doing anything.

Now I can see a progress bar in the app, including size already downloaded / full size

Apps not in Play Store / incompatible

Hi team XDA
I have been reading the forum for over a month now (almost daily - it's dangerously addictive)
I have introduced myself before but anyway I am from sunny South Africa.
CM9 was my daily driver for a good while until I got bored waiting for the official JB release. I then thought I would try out Omega 13.1. I still enjoy ICS and like a solid ROM.
After flashing Omega 13.1 I noticed a few apps did not appear in the Play store anymore. I tried downloading them through a browser but then it would just give me the error that the device is not compatible. I was playing Max Payne on CM9 but now I cannot even install it. Also another app that I cannot find is Amuse (9gag reader etc).
I would appreciate if anyone has come across this issue and can shed some light?
Thanks
Van

Thanks for the reply bala gamer. Sorry I am fairly noob but I did try search for similar issues and could not find a resolution.
The apps showed up and I played them on CM 9 but now they do not show up in the Play Store. I went to Settings > Application manager > all > Google Play Store but the cache was already on 0 so I cant wipe there.
When I search for Market enabler in Play store I get an app called Vodafone Market Enabler *ADS* - should I try that app?

Even when using google play from my internet browser, some apps e.g. max payne, king of fighters, are classified as incompatible with my galaxy s3. What I do is to buy it through my wife`s S2, then transfer the apk to my S3

Thanks Zoot. I also did try wipe cache / dalvik and fixing permissions from CWM recovery. No luck.
I have attempted to do as you said and still cannot see the missing apps in the Play Store.
I guess I will need to go over to Jellybean and then it'll be sorted. Thought I would be patient enough to wait for official JB.

Hi,
I've seen a number of similar threads but none of the methods (be it starting from some old gaps version or http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1219029) helped in my case. Hi
thanks for your response - do you mean the part "Downloading gapps-gb-20110828-signed.zip" ..etc? I tried this earlier but it did not help. Perhaps there is something else in this particular ROM which causes a conflict - unfortunately the error does not say which package is at fault. Has someone else with the same ROM (GingerIceJelly v2) managed with this recipe or suffering by it at all?
cheers

It did not help unfortunately. The gapps got installed as a version of youtube gets updated shortly after the installation. Then it comes to Talk/Hangouts but it has the same problem as before. Thanks for your help though - if you have another suggestion please let me know.

Extract the gapps zip, paste the files inside it (expect META-INF) to their apporiate location. After that go to CWM, wipe data, cache and dalvik cache. Then do fix permission and reboot. It worked on my Mom SGY using Hyperion 8.
