Hello. I am interested in violation the audio on my 7, and saw the thread about the beats audio driver. I already have that driver installed, but not the other drivers that go along with it. I'm running stock rom, and wanted to know if I could install it even though I already have the Beats driver installed.
Also, after reading several posts, it seems that this hack has more problems than most. I'm happy with the stock jelly bean rom, but am not happy with the audio, but I also don't want to create problems that I have to deal with.
Any suggestions, or insight into whether I should try this or not?

you could try a customer kernel like trinity and try using a USB audio DAC.. i have a USB Dac on its way to me over the next week or so, really looking forward to trying it out. You have to boot the nexus 7 with the DAC plugged in.. but apparently it works.. looking forward to listening to FLAC files through the DAC on my ie80s'

Hi, I've been very, very happily using Galnet's MIUI and basically using MIUI for an age but I've recently had a housemate move in with a big TV and was thinking about going back to a rom that features RCA TV out. I was wondering if anyone has recommendations for a good rom that features TV out via 3.5 RCA cable? Or if it's even worth it? It seems Froyo was the way to go?
Thanks.
I might be wrong but I tought that all CM7-based ROMs lacked this feature.
I assumed that all Samsung-based ROMs had it.
Yeah that's what I thought too. But thought some Gingerbread ROMs had problems with TV out? Can anyone vouch for the quality. I'm new to the TV hookup thing? Thanks for your response, mate.

It would be nice if it could be implemented in CM7
However it isn't a show stopper for me, as I have an N900 which has TV out which I now use solely as a media player in the car (as it already has built in screens) I tried it on the TV once, but to be honest it wasn't brilliant
Not sure what games would be like from the Galaxy on a big TV
guys I've spent a lot of time chasing various threads on xda and elsewhere, re: the very low pitiful audio volume levels for movie replay on nexus 7 with 4.2.1 .... to no avail. volume+ from the apps store comes up as "compatible with all devices" for me but it ain't. doesn't work yet on JB.
I've read, re-read, and re-re-read the thread over in Android devel of a custom patch for DSP supposedly to give 'beats' like audio, improvements, etc requires custom kernel at least if not rom - but no straight answers on what mix it takes to make it work nexus 7 on 4.2.1 so I assume it no worky either.
SOOOOO.... is there ONE thread somewhere that can serve as the checkpoint for all of us suffering through this issue? its been reported to Google ad infinitum and I'm sure sooner or later will get a remedy if such is possible with this hardware, but it will happen more quickly the custom route I suspect.
any clues??
I note [for those that don't know] that Youtube sounds great, and what little I've tried Netflix, its passable, but playback of 720p movie files using MX Player or others [some are not yet compatible with 4.2.1] its unbearable. another win for the tablet that must not be mentioned around here.....
Have you tried this? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1889522
Working ok for me...
I will if you can give me an answer I need: I read on one of those threads [he/they post in several forums so I not sure which I saw this] that one needs to install a Custom Kernel [Trinity was one I jotted down], possibly a custom ROM [i.e. not the google OTA JOP40D], and in another post, that one might need to Uninstall the stock DSP Manager [and replace with ?????]
assuming you're working OK [ie MX Player playing a good MP4 file, great volume??] on 4.2.1, what was your recipe?
thanks so much :good:

This post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=31619899&postcount=2, post #2 contains the mod for Android 4.2...you just need to be rooted and have custom recovery... supports AOSP/stock ROM it says... just try it.. make a nandroid first of course... oh and you can also ask in that thread, misledz is the expert.. I think the mod is system wide.
Although you can't access equalizer settings within mxplayer... I know mxplayer has a volumeboost option... >200% volume boost not enough?
Hehe.. hope it helped...
yes even with the 200% boost the 720p rips I am trialing [in this case its LOTR TT platinum edition title 1] is too light. in fact through what google excuses as a speaker [guffaw....] its useless. headphones with vol at 100% is just barely useful.
BUT - the good news is that instead of fooling with the whole JB Beats custom stuff, I just went to the store and installed noozxoid and WOW! :good: that is one serious application. HUGE difference not just in volume which really is not the point of it, but in quality, customizations, adjustments, .... That app should be getting a lot more attention than it is. its bigtime https://play.google.com/store/apps/...NvbS5ub296eG9pZGVsYWJzLmVpem8ucmV3aXJlcHJvIl0.
I have not tried netflix since installing it so I will and will put some remarks here. around the web I see a lot of complaining about volume of streamed content on netflix
thank you for your notes
ps if you try out noozxoide note that you must set it up - go through all the settings and pick your stuff. it does not assume/default anything.

Ive got one, had it for xmas from my daughter, pretty happy with it, wifi is fine not sure about the range as my router is about a metre away from tv so cant comment on that, running xbmc rc3 on it and dvds and livetv works well, struggles abit with true HD as dont think its hardware accelerated. Only gripe ive got at the moment is altho it came with flash player installed it doesnt work ive tried updating it from the adobe archive page but the settings page is just greyed out, maybe someone on here can fix it which is why i just joined

I've got one, I think it lacks good video drivers.
Bad synk audio video, stuttering video.
It has a diffrenet wif/BT chip compared to the 802 but same SOC (I think) so the custom roms from the 802 work but you get no wifi & BT.
The BT exists but does not work with my mouse, it pairs but nothing more, I think the original ROM lacks BT mouse support.
I would say a 802 with working custom ROMs is a much better deal for the moment, but this could change anytime soon or never.
I've had one for a while and didn't use it that much until I flashed finless bob's rom for the imito mx1/2, which has the same basic internals. It is much smoother and faster than before, but this could be partly attributed to the newer kernel this rom possesses.

Not to sound like an idiot because I'm just asking you to repeat what you just posted, but you can confirm that finless' ROM will flash onto the UG007 with no modifications needed?

I solved Bluetooth issue by installing a custom ROM: http://blog.geekbuying.com/index.php/category/android-tv-stick-tv-box/ug007/
How to install CWM-based Recovery: http://androtab.info/clockworkmod/rockchip/
I have loaded several different TW roms on my gs4, and only Tasks AOKP for aosp roms. I have noticed the sound quality in AOSP is horrible compared to TW. I first noticed it when I plugged it into my car radio, it sounded muffled and muddy. I tried playing with the settings, even bought faux sound in hopes it would help but it did not. I plugged my friends iPhone in and played the same song to see if it was my radio... It was not. So I loaded a backup of a TW rom I had and low and behold it sounded just as good as the iPhone, just slightly quieter, turning the volume up a little and I couldnt tell the difference. I loaded the backups of TW and AOKP roms back to back with my headphones with different songs to see if I was just dreaming, but there is a huge difference in highs and lows, base sounds underpowered and starts crackling in AOSP. Faux sound didnt help anything, tried playing with the equalizer, and it never sounded anything close to the TW rom. I was going to try and load CM 10.1, but have not done so since they are still on nightly's with no RC or final builds.
Now I know AOSP uses open source drivers, so is this the problem? Or am I missing something that could be causing this?
EDIT: AOSP DOES NOT HAVE APT-X.
---------------------------------
Use APT-X on AOSP instead.
Otherwise, I can't comment on bluetooth since I only use the APT-X codec. But Task has stated in the past he does not care about bluetooth audio.

I think the exact opposite, my phone sounds better on AOKP then TW. Are you setting all the equalizers up properly?

I'm using the headphone jack to physically connect it on my car, so its not the BT. I'll look up APT-X, doesnt sound familiar to me. And as far as I can tell its setup properly. I looked up settings that several people suggested. I'm open to trying your settings if you want to post them.

Setting the volume all the way up on your phone while its connect to aux may cause distortion. Set it at least 3/4th of the volume bar and control the rest via the headunit.

No problem with distortion on TW rom with volume all the way up. Also it doesnt really explain the headphone issues.

Not on touch wiz but AOKP. Volumes seem to be louder as this is also a issue on my HTC One.

Oh sorry, I thought I read that you were using Bluetooth.
APT-X is the high-definition version of Bluetooth. Comparable to using the headphone jack for audio quality, but with less noise.
If you want the ultimate in audio quality at the expense of some convenience, then try to find a USB DAC that works with the S4. I'm not sure if there are any yet. But they're worth it if you think you might be an audiophile.

How do you use the APT-X codec? Is it part of one of the custom ROMs? I was under the impression that only the international version supported APT-X.
This has been my experience with samsung devices in the past as well. They do a good job with sound quality in the stock software. If you go to a AOSP type ROM, you need some other sound application to improve quality.
EDIT: AOSP ROM'S DO NOT HAVE APT-X.

All Samsung Galaxy S3/S4 TouchWiz and Google Edition ROM's have had APT-X since the Galaxy S3.
All you need to do is find a Car Stereo or a Receiver that support APT-X and then connect by Bluetooth and it automatically uses the APT-X hi-def codec.
Since I never found a Car Stereo that supports it (still new tech) I just connected an APT-X bluetooth receiver to my car stereo. So my phone connects to the receiver. Then the receiver sends the audio directly to my car stereo via 3.5mm audio cable. I hide the receiver inside my dashboard behind the car stereo.
I've been using Acid Audio with all my CM ROMS from when I had an HTC Sensation to my current Nexus 4.
The sound improvements have always been amazing.
My only issue is I've never been able to get the music lockscreen to appear when I have my headphones plugged in. They're present without headphones. This was an issue on my Sensation as well as my Nexus 4. I assume it might be a CM issue?
Has anyone else experienced this? I've flashed all the appropriate attachments as well as followed all corrects steps. I've asked this in the Acid Audio thread in Q&A and main thread a couple months ago but never get a reply so I did not want to clog up the board beyond my initial post.
Does anyone have experience with flashing them onto CM roms on the Nexus 4 and have everything working properly?
If this is a known issue (which I was unable to determine from scouring threads and doing searches), is there a recommended Audio enhancing mod for the Nexus 4 that gives similar results?
TIA
