how do i remove the blue lines that appear when i slide my fingers across the screen??
Nexus 7 CM10 M-1 ,, Trinity V111
i been through the setting, i cant seem to find the disable setting.
see image.
next question is there a way to get the lock screen to have the weather in color just like my Galaxy Nexus CM10 M-1
see image of my GN
i look in the theme section. there isnt alot of mods for the nexus 7. i would think there would be more.
i have been trying to install the mods i have for my GN to my Nexus 7 to no avail.
the answer is no answer I think, :cyclops::cyclops:
As for the blue lines, you might want to try a different launcher
First question: Use Apex Launcher. It's essentially the stock launcher + a ton of features. You can set the 'transition effect' to 'none" .. then there are no blue borders. Second question.. there are some weather icon mods out there, I think.
Where did you get that widget in the second picture? No i not mean the naked woman.

can someone make a rom or theme thats stable?? ive been trying anything i could, to make my hero as authentic nexus as i possibly could ie the nexus application grid, the dots in the corner, the animation to the app drawer, the white taskbar, but i cant handle the launchers buggy-ness and i dont like helix because its just not the same...if there is one thats not a test or something thats stable out there could you please help?
thanks everyone!
I dont have "buggy-ness" using the launcher.
What do you mean?
White task bar
It has a new rosie launcher, but if using the nexus launcher you will never see it.
Do a full wipe and get DC 2.07.2.. Then flash the livewallpaper update.
You will have the nexus launcher and live wallpapers.
Then flash the above white taskbar and it will look like a nexus phone. (I think, i dont want to test)
Its also funny cuz I was googling something yesterday about the HTC desire, and every Nexus forum is trying to get HTC Sense on there rom by using Desires rom.
And you are doing the opposite.
when my phone is on standby and i turn my phone back on to the lockscreen, i unlock it and either the screen is black, or just the wallpaper shows. no icons or widgets. its like its loading them, and its takes a few seconds till they show up, and sometimes it doesnt switch screens, i have to swipe like five or so times before it recognizes my finger
Nexus launcher from the market is fantastic..
Ran good on Flipz.. But it runs incredible on DCv2.07
and is that white task bar compatable with fresh 2.0d?
thank man

THIS ONE FOR SURE SHOULD WORK
Same thing as above, but its was made for 2.0d rom
Though it should work for all damage and fresh roms.
Make a nano backup before flashing.. Just in case you dont like some of the changes, you can always go back and try something else.
i mean the one on our homescreen by default.
if i go to the add widget list then straight away there's the accuweather one. if i add that all i get is a 2x1 widget and not the 4x1 that's there by default. i mean, if i removed it how would i get it back?

Its resizeble. Just tap and hold on widget
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
yea, just got it. but OMG is that annoying to resize. in LP/adw it's easy, this thing has a mind of it's own on whether i get that yellow box or not. seems freaking random!
anyhoo, what i'm trying to do is move to adw launcher and alls fine apart from the weather widget and the task manager
resizing the weather widget in adw doesnt work properly (big gap in middle) and i assume that the task manager is like HTCs apps? only shows in their launcher?

edit
hmm, never mind. adw launcher lagged like crazy

It's exactly the same for me in TW and LP
hmm, i tried go launcher as well but that's the same.blue square in the middle that's empty. weather is forced to the far right.
weird
The TW widgets only work properly in TW.
The trick to getting in Resize mode is simple. You just put the widget on the homescreen. Then tap and hold it for 2 to 3 seconds (you know, a long press). But dont move at all during that tap and hold. Hold it STILL for a moment, and then drop. It will then go in resize mode.
I dont know if I explained it right. But I always get to resize when I want, not random at all lol

It's dammed difficult !
What ? You can resize the widgets ? But it's pretty tricky ! Well .. why make it simple ?

Only very few Widgets (AccuWeather) supports resizing ... maybe that's why it's so difficult to use this feature LOL
tommo123 i think the weather widget that you are talking about is not the accuweather one. the one that comes default with the phone is a widget called "News & Weather", it will display the 1x4 widget directly. keep scrolling in the widgets towards the end and u will find it.
regards.
yea tried that too. it is the accuweather one but when you stretch that with the defaul launcher it looks ok. but not using other launchers.
using fancy widget at the mo though
Is it just me or does touchwiz have better screen responsiveness than go launcher/other launchers?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
Touchwizz is much snappier / more lagfree then GoLauncher. It's even faster underclocked to 800 MHz then stock 1,2 GHz with GoLauncher.

I second this
Go launcher is laggy. Launcher Pro on the other hand is as fast as touchwiz
Go Launcher was laggy on my first installation but snappy on my second installation. I don't know what changed between the two but it was as quick as LP
I noticed this when I tried GO launcher, almost as if when you swipe between screens there is an ever so slight delay, which is not major, can get a little annoying.
TW is slick and super fast compared

What battery icon is that and how did you put it on? I'm still on stock rom with chainfire's rooted kernel.
Cheers

The one on the desktop is minimalist text (for when i swipe the notification bar off).
The one on the notification bar I added using the kitchen app from the market which is for use with the Revolution Rom.
In the kitchen app you just chose a theme/feature, click ok, it downloads, installs and reboots, plus it has many other features in the app like BLN and EDT, kernel change, boot ani change, battery sound on/off, slide glow on/off etc. etc. etc. and kitchen is always being updated.
A great rom and the kitchen app sets it apart

Go launcher Ex 2.53 beta 3 now available here

So why do you prefer the Go launcher over TW?
Things I found I didn't like with GO, the calendar widget on TW especially the month view one I prefer, also mini paper although it works with GO, when you click the plus to add another widget note, it opens TW to tries and add it to one of those screens instead of the Go screen, I use mini paper a lot, best postit note type widget that actually works from the home screens quickly.

I use the memo thing that came with TW the one with the cork background it is really nice.
One of the other nice things about Go ex is that the dock keys can be swiped to give second user defined function, eg open file manager, plus they can be drag and dropped replaced!
Also customisation, icons can be renamed and/or swapped with other icons from other download themes.
I have used both adw ex and LP plus for quite some time, but I really can't see me changing. Even the Go keyboard shocked me with how good it looks and how fast it is, and it has (at a swipe) a T9 keyboard or an arrows keyboard... (iphone theme keys

TW4.0 is mostly HW accelerated, it runs smoother and consumes less cpu cycles compared to other launchers.
Hmm it seems Launcher Pro is just as responsive as touchwiz. Is there any way to change dock icons for touchwiz? Also is it possible to set the app drawer icon in the middle as opposed to on the right side?
Hi
As a complete newcomer to the Android opertaing system forgive me for asking what might be a couple of silly questions!
Firstly, there seems to be a few (three?) home screens. Can I make one of these always appear first when I switch on the Nexus7.
Secondly, when I purchased it a couple of weeks ago there seemed to be a whole host of widgets present, some of which seem to do nothing. Where do these widgets come from and what are they supposed to do. I have tried searching the web for information on this but have come up with nothing that really explains what widgets are.
Any help would be appreciated.
There should be a stock 5 home screens on Jelly Bean. The one in the middle (3rd) will be the default one. This can't be changed unless you use a custom launcher, like Nova Launcher. Then you can play around with them however you like.
As for the widgets question - which widgets are you talking about? As far as I know, there are no widgets which do "nothing"
I am not entirely sure about what you mean when you talk of widgets, but here goes:
Widgets do all sorts of things, from being toggle switches to news widgets. The ones on the screens when yo first get your tablet are Google widgets. If I remember correctly they are mostly play store and media related. You can remove them easily by touching and holding the widget for a second and dragging it to the 'remove' icon that appears on the top of the screen.
Yo can install and remove widgets the same way you would install a program from the play store, widgets can be accessed through the apps menu and dragged onto any of your virtual screens.

Thanks for the information. IT doesn't seem like 5 screens but I will move my icons to it and see if that does the job.
As for the widgets, this may have been covered in the next reply. Some of mine do nothing if I "click" on them and look like web pages or similar.

There are definitely 5 home screens but only 3 have widgets placed on them when you take it out of the box for the first time.

Sorted, thanks. Moved my widgets to the third home screen which now opens by default.
It's not even close to being similar.
What's going on?
edit: What's missing:
Translucent menu bar
Translucent dock
The inability to add/remove home pages
Translucent app drawer - App drawer no different. Still shows widgets
Messaging app is still there - Good point though
To sum up, it looks like Jelly Bean..
sure it is. so the status bar isnt clear. install the Google Experience launcher if you didnt install it yet.

It's strange Google becomes easier and more accessible yet people still rather ask on a forum. And wait.

From memory, the same happened with 4.2/4.3 on the Galaxy Nexus vs Nexus 4. They were similar, but there were differences between them. One that springs to mind was the Nexus4 shipped with "Chrome" whereas the Galaxy Nexus had "Browser". There was other bits and bobs that were different between them too, and i remember thinking it was pretty strange, given they were supposed to be both running "vanilla" android.
Search or read existing threads this has been discussed countless of times. Install Nexus 5 port or buy a Nexus 5.

1. the n4 doesnt get the translucent bar.
2. same with the clock
3. install the google experience launcher, its not default
4. see#3
5. open google hangouts and except hangouts as your messaging app(same on n5).
so it turns out only the translucent bar and clock are different. does that make the n5 and n4 4.4 roms not even close to being similar, no.
