Hello I'm facing some problems when I connect the headphones (standard one), it works fine for some time then it start to pause/start/switch next/switch previous the music quickly, it also opens the program that's currently playing the music, just driving the phone crazy. While this is happening I can't play/pause/switch next/switch previous the music by pressing the little microphone (that's used to receive your voice when you get a call while using headphones) (Pressing one time pause/start music | Pressing two times switch to the next music | Pressing three times switch to the previous music), but after some time this problem stop (Still can't play/pause/switch next/switch previous using the microphone ), then when you think everything will be fine it start to happens again...
Did anyone face this problem before? How can I solve this?
I got MB525 + CyanogenMod 7.2 Stable + Winamp 1.2.7 Pro (I've tried with default music player, but the problem still happens)
Bump, I really need help with this
Try with a different pair of headphones?
I have an HTC Inspire 4G and this problem happens to me also.
It doesn't happen all the time, but when it does happen I notice that the normal headphones icon has changed to the microphone headset icon. The headphones I use don't have a microphone so I'm not sure why it would detect a mic.
Then the voice control comes up and the phone starts going crazy, calling previous contacts, playing/pausing/skipping songs at random...
Any ideas on a fix?
^ The same happens to me, but Defy's default headphones have microphone, sometimes it shows as headphone only and sometimes as headphones + microphone (as you said)(Pictures showing what I mean below). While it was showing headphone only, I tried to call my phone and the microphone worked fine. While it's showing as headphone only the problem won't happen, but when it shows as headphones + microphone it's prone to get crazy randomly

I've tried with 2 others headphones: One of them didn't seem to reproduce the problem, but other reproduced it all the time
I've uninstalled the default music player + disabled the opition "Let Winamp control the headphones" in Winamp, seems that it helped a bit, but still happens
My phone's warranty will end in November 25th, so I need a answer fast: Should I send it to repair or is there anyway to fix this?
I have found that certain ROMs will do this more than others, so maybe you should try to flash a different ROM?
Aww, CyanogenMod 7.2 is so lovely... Default FroYo is bad, CM9 and CM10 still unstable
Which ROM are you using?

Hey guys, need some help here
I'm with CM7 and the latest nightly. This is a great rom and it worked just fine for weeks.
Yesterday I opened the FM radio app and tried to listen for some music (i didn't use the app before). I connected the samsung's earphones and then I pushed on the speaker icon to test if I can hear radio from the galaxy's speaker. The only thing I heared was a white noise just like on a real radio when there is no FM signal. so I disconnected the earphones and pushed on the volume up button and heard a wierd sound.
Then tried to play some music but the sound was terrible.
Then tried to reset, but still the sound was so damn awful.
After that I tried different CM7 kernel but still no good. at some point the speaker has stopped working. Tried to swich to froyo, but still no speaker. tried to reinstall CM7, MIUI, original JVQ (with voodoo sound) but nothing helped...
I think my speaker is doomed
please help!
any idea?
btw, the earphone is working ok and the internal phone speaker is ok as well so i can make calls...
anyone?
maybe someone with similar problem?
Hey guys I was wondering if anybody else has had this issue occur with their device, recently my A500 has been playing audio from the speakers and headphones at the same time. This only happens on 2 out of 5 times, and when it does all I have to do is unplug the headphones and plug them back in. Yes, I have tried different pairs of headphones so that is not the problem. I need to know if this is an issue with the A500 itself( hardware) or if it could be a software issue just so I know whether to have it exchanged for a new one or not.
Appreciate the feedback guys
I'm sure it's unlikely to be a hardware issue as the headphone jack seems to work fine.
My vote is software bug. What are you using to listen to music? What steps are you taking to go from speakers to headphone - during playback? Before playback? Pausing playback, changing to headphones then starting playback?
Can you repeat any steps to get it to bug out on a regular basis or is it completely random?
It could be a music app bug or a HC bug. I have read others having similar problems since release but I don't believe anyone has found a solution/or the cause or done any testing.

yes i have been experiencing the same issue. this is where i have noticed it
When i start the music player app and plugin the jack and start music and then if the screen turns of or pause it and screen turns of and when i resume the same after sleep the music plays on both speaker and head phones this was not happening on 3.01 and happening on 3.1
i have tested this please confirm play music plug in the jack and then press power button which goes to sleep mode when u press the power button one more time and resume music this happens
One more thing is when i remove the jack the music app just pops up on the tool bar as in the status bar at the bottom

Hey matrix I tried reproducing your issue but it was fine, sound only came from the headphones. Btw I am using virtuousgalaxy rom, although when the issue started I was on virtuouspicasso
Having the same problem on my stock 3.1. Sometimes i need to unplug and plug in headphones multiple times to get it back to normal behaviour.
yup
Have had nothing but strange issues when using the stock music player. Sound coming from headphones/speakers at the same time, random fc's, horrid popping sounds from a perfect mp3 file, and my personal favorite feature - sometimes the player just starts up on it's own and blares music at inappropriate times.
Had these issues with stock music player since 3.0.1 up to the stock 3.1 build I am using.
My solution? Remove the stock music player from the system, download winamp, ???, profit
So i got this problem for many months now.
It does not matter which player i choose (i tried most common ones)
and the app headset blocker doesnt fix the issue.
basically the music just randomly stops or loops or just changes wildly around.
im running cm 7.1 but previous versions were the same.
is there any other fix yet? headphones are standard sennheiser inear.
sometimes it works though..but mostly not.
I had the same problem with aftermarket earphones.
Randomly music would play, pause, restart loop crash and whatever.
Took me months to figure out, this is my lifesaver now:
Disable AutoPlay will disable your Media Button Inputs from your headset remote control. This will avoid your phone from starting the media player if you connect normal headphones.
warning: if media button is disabled you will not be able to accept calls with your headset remote control.
You can download it from the market, its free.'
Search for Disable Autoplay.
Well since i dont even have a headset that wont matter... ill try that, i couldnt reproduce the bug now but ill see if it gos away now..thanks anyway
So this happens when you wear headphones (are standard sennheiser inear) or random running musicplayer?? .
So i could test it today and it didnt fix the issue.
it happens when i hear music via headphones with any music player.
( for example winamp playerpro stock player etc...)
any other ideas?
From posts that i read, the number of circles on the ear phones Jack can cause the skips.
Im using a skull candy earphone and its working fine. The headset blocker is taking in effect. Music does not skipping/pause/replay anymore. Im running on absolutionv3.7 based on cm7. Oh yeah, I'm using stock music player.
But headset blocker does not work on sense roms. T.T I wish it worked on sense roms. Also, stock music player on sense rom.
Sent from my Inspire 4G using XDA App
ell now i went into some famous german media shop and looked around if there were any headphones that around complete garbage and work with htc phones specifically, but of course no luck. and since all the other headphones have the exact same connector i dont think it will change a thing.
i still onder if it could be cm7?
well i read same issues from stock rom users. and it as the same with cm6.
and i now learned that those are the only headphones with that connector that i own :l
can you recommend me another good rom to try?
must have is (which was the initial reason i use cm) a fixed bluetooth stack. stock rom doesnt allow me to use my wiimote (and afaik all sense roms have that issue)
a kernel that lets me oc to at least 1,5 gh and an overall slim look and feel. hate that rubbish sense stuff.
@kakihara - What kernel are you using? I had massive music skips when used default cm kernel, but when I changed to LordClockan BFS kernel, all music skips were gone, and I can fully enjoy music listening no matter what player I choose.
@Desire HD & CyanogenMod
I too had a similar issue after I flashed CM7 & 7.1. Also had this issue with an ICS ROM (I forget which one). I am interested to see the cause and any fixes. I gave up and went back to my trusty RCMix3D V4.0 ROM.
I actually sent my phone to repair when i first discovered this issue, but they couldn't determine anything wrong with my phone. When i installed headset blocket, it thankfully worked(from time to time). But my final solution is that i'm going to buy a pair of Klipsch Image S4a(Android Controls), since i'm in need of some new earbuds anyway. I hope it solves the issue.
Hello,
I'm having a very weird problem. Anytime I stop playing music or hang up the phone while using my headphone, there's a weird ticking noise that last about 2 seconds. It's the most annoying thing, and I cannot get it to stop. In fact, this also occurs if you play music with the volume set to the lowest setting. You can still hear the clicking noise. It is completed independent of the volume because I can drown out the sound by turning up the volume, but if I turn the volume down all the way, I can still hear it.
Does anyone else have this problem?
I'm using the crDroid which is CM10.2 based and this has happened on all builds (I've used 16,17,18,19 and 20). I'm using the franco Plus #184 kernel (and I've used the #183 kernel) and the issue has always been there. Thanks!
NOTE: this does not happen when I use my HTC headset that has a microphone.
-----------------------------------------------
Edit: I found out the issue was related to the kernel. I'm not exactly sure what happened but I switched to the default crDroid kernel and it's now fixed.
Hey guys
I just registered because I experienced some problems with my recently bought nexus 6p. I really like this phone but as soon as I start listening to music using headphones the bugs are invading my phone since I didn't find anything on Google I start this thread.
But let's get to my problem:
I plug in my headphones and start playing music (using blackplayer and Google music). When the screen is turned on the volume turns down itself (I can see the volume bar going down to zero like I'm pressing the button). Also sometimes the powerbutton stops working and I have to restart my phone long pressing the power button.
But also when the screen is turned out I experience some problems. One of the most annoying ones is that music stops and starts randomly (but only when headphones are plugged in!!!). The other bug is music stopping, display turns on and some female voice tells me "Bitte warten! (please wait)" and the screen is gray saying "initializing".
Has someone experienced similar problems? What could help? If you guys need any more information just tell me
I have none of these problems. Have you tried a different set of headphones?
Change your headphones or ensure that they're set up properly. I'm guessing they're wired.
I'm also running into this same issue. I have the latest updates on my phone. This happens about 25 minutes in to listening to media. I've heard that disabling "OK Google detection" fixes it. This hasn't worked for me.
Sounds like wired headphones with a faulty connection to the phones, or faulty buttons on the headphones. I have seen similar behavior with just a wired connection to an AUX Input. The connection on the wire was faulty and due to changing resistance, it looked to the phone like headphone buttons were being pressed. Could also be a fault at the headphone jack on the phone, but it was not in my case. Definitely try other headphones to help narrow down the issue.
