AOKP JB vs. CM10
Post your opinions here. I've been using AOKP JB for a couple of hours and it's great except not working camera (like all AOSP JB for Xperia 2011).

I am using CM10 (135 than 136 and now since this morning 138). Camera is working now, rom is good but I still have some lags from time to time. Wifi thetering not working but since I am not using it i don't mind. I didn't tested HDMI for the same reason. Overall I miss maybe a better looking interface but I prefer to have a fast responding phone.

But you are using ICS camera. That's why it works.

Yes but if camera is not working, to me is a big problem.
CM10 gives my device very good performance although it has many lags
So i vote 1 like for cm10

ROFL! You're kidding right?
For me it's AOKP, since it is basically CM10 + Magic_elements_of_Roman!
Hi guys,
Performance wise, how do these 2 roms compare to the stock gingerbread one? Is Gingerbread still the fastest and lag free?
Can anyone comment on the wifi reliability of either of these ROMs (or any of the JB kernels if that's more appropriate)? Can it remain on in standby without the phone being wake-locked?

Gingerbread is 2 iterations behind. Jelly Bean for me is the smoothest Android release imo. Project Butter brings 60fps to the ui.

J is the 10th letter. CM10. That's how ALL cyanogenmod builds are named.
Edit: and jb is 4.1, it's not a new platform, just an "update" you could say so expecting it to look much different is just well stupid.

hi all,
here a few things (didn't test myself, but i heard it from other devs)
it will use less ram
it is VERY smooth (scrolling, everything thanks to butter)
games will probably run better
and more ofcourse
and i thing: maybe sony will give it to us because it is faster it requires less ram (ics= 1024mb jb=512mb like the play has)
and it will be better for gaming!!!!

Personally I'd go for Derteufel's build of CM10 with /datadata V8. Note that JB is no way a mature development though, you will experience bugs at such an early stage. Go back to ICS if stability is your priority.
Haha
I think the CM10 by pawitp is the best
but as ballsofsteel said, its only an alpha version.
so you will get bugs everywhere
I´m satisfied with the cm10 build, because the functions I need are working (sms, data :victory
but if you want to have the "whole" experience, try cm9

This. It is quite annoying. Also my ringtone/notification keeps changing! But everything else seems to be great.
So if you are here every day you may realize that I was the guy who kept saying that GB was incredible. But a few days ago I got bored of it and decided to jump directly to JB 4.1.2, I'm using some random rom calles Kang AOKP or so and totally blown away by its smoothness and customization and battery life. I pushed GB to its limit by extreme customization but it was no way this good. Google and developers did follow the right track, this rom is much morw helpful for my daily use. Of course I still find some bugs but I think I'll try another rom and never come back to older versions. ICS was a failure in my eyes but JB is a perfect win for me.
I heard that from 4.1.2 it's a lot different, so I think I'll keep trying with 4.1.2

+2 actually.
JB is awesome - as a flashaholic I just wish I could try more of the JB ROMS - but some of the download sites suck speed wise for me! or I can't get to them at the office
Rocking ROMS I have used - Jelly King, Vanilla Rootbox, Super Nexus and RR.
Dual boot Jelly King + whichever takes my fancy for today on Dorimanx 7.10
Improvement over ICS is :laugh::good:
Another Vote For Rootbox...Very Impressive ROM
Jelly Bean is really awesome, pity the big delays that non-nexus devices have to get official ROMs.
Praise the developers that work hard to offer us all the goodies ahead of time

vsync experimental ROM ftw.
And custom kernels have a workaround for low headphone volume. There aren't really that many noticeable bugs to be honest.

+1 I've tried several ICS ROMs, but was getting great performance with GB so I didn't move. Then moved directly to JB, never look back.
what about project butter? is it implemented in these ROMs?!
I guess not.
I appreciate the hard work that developers put on their ROMs but i think without project butter these are incremental ICS upgrades IMHO

We only have CM9 now.
Don't think it will even be possible, as project butter only works on screens that support 60fps, and the X10's screen can only do 30.

You can of course uncap the x10 framelimit to 59-60fps.
That or butter could be modified to work for 30fps, but I'd wager that's the long and unecessary route to take...
