Guys, searched and read alot about this one - so got a question. How the hell can I put this feature into present ROMs (for example, gauner1986's ROM or early MDJ ones) without re-flashing or re-cooking the ROM again?
Got some Darktremor files - there is some directory structure in them + scripts. OK, but i.e. in gauner1986 ROM the structure is completely different. There's no init.d in /system/etc and so on. Running scripts (even edited ones) in Busybox made nothin' for me.
So the question remains - is there some mod\script\package for doing this without ROM brainf**king?
Backup all your data and settings with titanium backup or HTC Sync.
Flash this ROM, it is based on your gauner1986 ROM with Apps and Settings on ext4 partition with Data2Ext.
Your way shouldn't work or is too complicated, because it's a compressed rom to fit the 512MB Rom size. My way need not an hour and you have a newer and themeable rom. I use this ROM, it's also an Desire HD rom with nice icons and it will add the Data2Ext support in the next hours.
These ROM's are not A2SD+ roms, but they do nearly the same, use a fast ext4 partition to get more space for Apps.
A2SD+: only Apps on SD-Ext partition

Yep, flashed this one already - thanks for links.
First Im sorry my bad English !
I only have a Tmous HD2 but I dont know how to calculate the CWM for Leo512 (EX: system folder is 350mb) with my builds ?!
Some one help me about values of flash.cfg please ?
Thank you very much !!!
Whatever rom you want to use will typically tell you withon the first couple of posts in the rom thread. It really depends what rom you use what recovery size is needed. Bigger roms like ones with htc sense will need a bigger system partition.
If you use a larger system partition with a smaller rom, I think it'll still work, but will take space away from your data partition, which is particularly a big deal if you have a EU HD2, as they dont have as much nand memory as the TMOUS HD2.

If you can not find the size partition you need stated in the first few post by the ROM chef in the ROM thread. This is what I do, I click on the download and get it to start downloading or either let it finish downloading so I can see what sise the file is and then add at least another 25MB to 30 MB to that and tyhen go with the closest Recovery partition size to that or just go in and make the Recovery partition size what I need. But now that I I am using cLK and not MAGLDR I have ROM manager and don't have to worry about the partition size anymore.
hey guys i am newone in the nand development and i want to have a question.i build my own rom with app2sd on dsixda's kitchen,i pack it and then i have to flash it to my phone but what nand partition layout should i use?i know that it depends of the roms size but the half rom goes to the ext partition and the other stays in the nand.am i right?how do i find out what nand partition layout should i use?

Hi,
Try a partition about 10 MB bigger than your "SYSTEM" folder.

Hi guys,
I'm cooking a WM6.1 ROM with a small set of applications using osKitchen Zero v1.33.5. This gives me lots of free space on the user partition. I have been searching for way to redefine the partition sizes and shrink the user data partition, but haven't found any information regarding this.
Does any one know how to do this or is it even possible?
Thanks
jlsaraiva
Any reason to shrink it?
The idea is to use the remaining space to create the android partitions and boot android with haret from the WM partition. Having both WM and Android on NAND.
Well, that's the thing you can't do via ROM. At least I think so. You need some extra storagemanager drivers.
sounds intriguing though at first - moving the ext2-partitions to nand and telling haret to look for them there instead on sd. you'd still have to boot winmo first, but android would be faster. "semi-nand-flash", kinda.
but thinking about it - not enough internal memory for two os on the x1.
Dont think this is possible just yet. Like your thinking of having two os on internal memory but especially with us poor EURO 512mb devices I dont think it could cope. It would also mean a resdign of haret.exe as it looks for android on SD card.
I striped out pretty much all non essential WM parts from the ROM and I get about 400MB of free space on the user data partition, which is enough to have xdandroid.
You would have to boot into WM first, but I wouldn't mind if it ment running everything out of nand.
No need to change haret. It would be just like we have now, running xdandroid out of the sd card. Only need to change the init script on initrd to mount the nand partitons instead of the sd card and change the init script on the rootfs filesystem. Both are not dificult to do. The only issue here is really "to be or not to be" able to resize the user data partition of WM.

This could be a nice idea as you could in theory have android running on nand with out the limitations of either magldr or clk. You would be hard pushed to get a sense build running, but a gingerbread version would be cool! I assume you really have to strip down WM to get it to fit?
I remember looking into this a long time ago before magldr came out and found out some registery keys that could run hart.exe and clard.exe for you with out any user input. I'll see if I can digg them up for you!
I removed almost all EXT packages plus some microsoft apps like office, windows live etc...
But all this falls short if we can't resize the WM partitions.
I've been looking into re-partitioning the NAND on my Xperia X1, so I could increase the storage space when using a smaller rom, but I also have not found a way to do it.
I was originally hoping there was an app, either in Windows mobile, or android, that would work as a partition manager, but I have only found apps that will partition SDcards.
Another option I'm thinking of is using a linux partition manager in android, or using a full blown linux on my phone and using a linux partition manager that way.
I've also thought of using mtty, but I don't know any commands that will let me manipulate the partitioning.
I actually have no idea if any of this will work out, I don't know how the whole boot-procedure works, so I don't know if the bootloader expects the WM-rom partition to be at a certain address, or if it just goes to a certain partition, regardless of the starting and ending positions.
Hi,
when I install a WinMo build the NAND is reorganized into one partition using the complete memory.
I want to install a WinMo build on the first partition of a 3 partition layout without changing it. Like first 100 MB for WinMo and two more NAND partitions with 150 and 250 MB.
I generated a different partition layout with tinboot and then tested different ROMs from this forum and tried task 32 in BlackstoneAdvancedRUU.exe.
But in the end WinMo took every bit of the available NAND memory.
So my question: Does anybody here know if this is possible and can give me some hints how to do this?
Thanks and good night, ThaiDai
