CSC PHN - Galaxy Tab 7.7 General

Hi,
I have a p6800 imported through Kogan into Australia. It has the CSC set to PHN. Is there any word on when the ics build will come out for this CSC?
This room doesn't have any other CSC, so can't change that via service codes or the CSC selector app. if there is no official ROM coming soon, is my best option to use Odin to flash the ATO ROM?
Thanks!

I have flashed ICS from LQ1,LQ2 (Austria),P6800DDLP5(india). From my opinion, P6800DDLP5 seems much better compared with Austria ICS ROM. No wifi issue using Home WIFI. I flashed with mobile odin because Flashing with Mobile ODIN does NOT increase your custom kernel flash counter or make the yellow warning triangle appear. You can read this thread first http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1469635. Today, I have just flashed with P6800DXLP7 (thailand). I am using this rom from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1888021. Just for easy purpose in running V6 supercharge (it is deodexed). The antutu score benchmark is low compared with P6800DDLP5 (India). I have not tested much using public WIFI. But, I have no issue using WIFI at home using TPLINK MR3420. No drop wifi issue.

NEED Bell Canada Modem and CSC

I would like to use the ROM kitchen to generate my ROM, but it seems to be missing a few things is used to have. I don't mind flashing them after or somehow adding it to the ROM before flash.
I still have froyo and want to upgrade to gingerbread. I have a Bell Canada SGS and need the following.
1.) Bell Canada Gingerbead Modem
2.) Bell CSC (kitchen only has europe/other regions)
3.) Altered Phone.apk - one that does NOT have the increasing ringtone. By the time i start to hear it it always to late, if i set my ringer volume level to 8 i want it to start at 8 and end at 8.
From what i know modem and phone.apk can be flashed after via CWM or Odin, but how do you flash CSC?
You can flash csc and modem through Odin, just make sure you use the files from the right ROM. If you have a Bell Vibrant, use the Gingerbread 2.3.3 UGKG3 stock firmware.
any links for CSC that is already extracted? I found the modem.
Just put the CSC.bin under CSC and flash??
alright so i download stock Bell firmware and generated a ROM file in the kitched. Deleted the modem and CSC and replaced it with the ones from the Bell ROM.
Now i just need a Phone.apk for the ringing problem.
What firmware are you using? I'm on JVR firmware with UGKG3 CSC and modem and I'm using the non-increasing ring mod for phone.apk as well.
If you're on JVR odexed, then this should work: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=16295257&postcount=23
If you're on JVR deodexed, then use this instead: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=16257034&postcount=20
For other Gingerbread versions, you'll have to look around the forums since I haven't searched for them myself, but they should be around
well i'm generating a rom from the kitchen and this will be gingerbread. The kitchen uses JVT, no idea about odexed or deodexed
question.. im on stock ugkg3 (rooted and unlocked) with bell but i just simply want to put a 2.3.4 or 2.3.5 firmware and nothing else. Which one works best with bell and how can i just simply flash a firmware only. I just want better battery life and get rid of that scrolling issue while browsing.
TY.
Although I personally use CM7 stable and MIUI ROMS exclusively, I have previously used Darky and S.U.R.F.A.C.E ROMS as well. I would recommend S.U.R.F.A.C.E since its light and you can decide what bloatware packs to add. Good battery life too. Either way, I always flash the UGKG3 modem for 850 bands.

I use UGKG3 modem as well. I'm on TELUS

[Q] Keeping Your CSC the same

I would like to know if it's possible to modify the CSC in the img file before loading with Odin, for the purpose to being able to use a ROM of a different region, while maintaining the same CSC. (and without WIPE)
So I want to change the German CSC in the German 4.1.2 GT-8000 ROM to Canadian CSC before loading with Odin, that way the CSC and PDA match for future OTA purposes.
The method is as described here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1913034
Is this possible?
I opened cache.ext4 in DiskInternals, and extracted the sec_csc.zip and found the CSC folders.
However, none of them was Canadian.
Would it be possible to copy my existing CSC folder from my 4.0.4 Note 10.1 and replace and repackage the German 4.1.2 ROM with the Canadian CSC?
From what I know it is not possible
But you can do the other way around change the CSC code of you device to the german code by download the app from play store but when you do that it will do a complete data wipe
You can change CSC folders inside a custom rom and then flash .
Or via Root Explorer or Android Commander change the CSC files on the phone itself .
Or you could flash a CSC on its own via Odin if you can find one or make one .
jje
Other than not being able to use ota updates whats wrong with having a miss matched csc? I flashed the UK 4.1.1 on my Canadian 8010 leaving the CSC alone and I have no problems. After that I rooted with Chainfire's Exynos Abuse app so I don't much care about OTA I will just use Odin. If the Canadian 4.1 EVER comes out maybe I will flash it but I don't see much point.
Don't you need the same csc for your region when you are sending the tablet for warranty purposes?
Sent from my GT-N8010 using xda app-developers app
There are reports that say it is impossible to revert back to the same CSC even after flashing a ROM that native to your region after flashing the German Rom.

After doing this I have now flashed the UK JB release hoping to match the CSC again but the CSC in KIES is now BGL
It looks like you cant go back to your own region after flashing the German JB on a UK device..

Once you go German, you never go back.

Warranty requires full firmware and CSC to match the phone plus system status not modified and custom rom counter at zero .
Personally CSC is deleted as soon as i have a copy of the original firmware .
Also Kies and OTA stuff and bloatware .
jje
kind of hesitant to flash the german rom since I cant find the rom for my canadian tablet

Are you saying, with the original firmware, you can recover the CSC and return the modified status to normal and the counter to 0?
Even after flashing ROMS from different regions such as the German ROM?

That isn't correct I have installed N-8010 4.1.1 German ROM then N-8000 4.1.2 German ROM, run CSC Select, changed back to N-8010 4.1.1 German ROM, now flashed N-8010 4.1.1 UK and I am back to the correct UK CSC and 'Official'. I have since rooted and set binary counter back to zero. No issues

Hope more ppl confirm this great result
We have another person whose CSC stayed the same.
This is good news. Tho we don't know why it changed permanently for others.

my n8010 uk, i update first german 8010 rom 4.1.1 single method, not double method with ics first. everything run fine and kies not let me update as said modified but csc still says btu
just put uk n8010 4.1.1 over the top via odin , everthing fine kies says i have latest version now. all good back to normal btu still.

I used the German two step method and then overwrote that with the single German JB Rom.
I did get my CSC back to BTU by going back to ICS, factory reset and then KIES updated to JB OTA.
My flash counter still remains at 0 and has never incremented so still never needed to root it.
Ok When you update to JB 4.1.2 it will always say that your device is uptodate on the first boot, to check whether OTA is working or not go to update in settings and manually search for an update if it says no update found it means it is detecting you device if it goes into a loop of searching means it not.
No matter how many times you install a rom or which region rom you install or which version rom you install if it is a stock rom your flash counter will never increase.
It will only increase if you install a custom rom or custom recovery
Some people with the 8013 have seen their flash count increase after installing the official German JB ROM
jeggen said:
So I installed JB the first way and had mentioned here having problems with AllShare Cast Dongle. So I checked my flash count and it showed Custom and a flash count of 2. Per these instructions I installed the complete JB PDA and instead of getting a flash count to 0 now I have a flash count of 4. Here is exactly what my tablet says when I'm in download mode.
Code:
PRODUCT NAME: GT-N8013
CUSTOM BINARY DOWNLOAD: Yes (4 Counts)
CURRENT BINARY: Custom
SYSTEM STATUS: Custom

yes it could be because the JB rom is for a different model and hence the system treats it as custom rom, just download triangleaway and reset the counter

[Q] Odin flash CSC on custom Rom

I'm Bangladeshi so my stock Rom CSC always keep my network providers staff auto but in custom rom like i use evo x3 and nature ux there CSC doesn't meats country special nature ux rom. So i was things flash only CSC file via Odin... i didn't no it will work or crash my phone ... anyone got any idea ???? will it work or not ...
Yes it'll work for sure.

LTE and ROMs from other countries.

My phone currently runs 4.3 but I'm thinking about upgrading to 4.4.2. My phone's localization is SEB. However SEB version of the rom is not released yet. As a result, I'm thinking of upgrading my ROM using BTU or some other version. This raised some questions for me:
1. If I flash 4.4.2 from BTU (or some other version of it) could I use LTE not only in UK but in the baltic states. In other words, if the ROM belongs to other country could I still use LTE at home? Or will LTE work only in the country the ROM is built for?
2. If I flash 4.4.2 using Odin (from BTU), would I still get OTA updates? I've heard that both region and software region must match to get OTA. Is this true?
3. Should I recalibrate my battery after flashing 4.4.2? I've heard that after flashing every new ROM battery should be recalibrated in order to reach the best performance.
4. Which of the ROMs (BTU, XEF etc) has the least amount of bloat?
Thanks in advance.

You can flash any country ROM supporting LTE.
You can use LTE anywhere if your ROM supports LTE.
It's wrong that both region must match, COMPLETELY WRONG.
You can find an Ultimate-List of firmwares in sammobile.com in firmwares section.

[Q] Can I flash a Firmware From a Different Country?

I have a GSIII Neo (GT-I9300I) that came from Iran. I was wondering if I could flash a 4.4 firmware from another country to this phone, since there is no 4.4 for the Iran GSIII Neo. And I want the official firmware, not a custom rom.
Any help?
yes you can, I have an GT-I9301I and every time there is a new update for official stock firmware even if it's not for my country, i download it from sammobile.com/firmwares and flash it via ODIN, as longer it's for my exact phone model, it's ok
and everything work perfect, even all the stuff relying on network (calls, sms, 3G, 4G ...)
No modem chnages or restore required?

- Do you reflash your past modem?
No, I flash all the new firmware with its own modem
- Is you phone carrier unlocked?
yes my carrier unlocked is unlocked but it have nothing to do with that.
my advice for u is to gow with an italian (ITV) or German (DBT) frmware, ive tried eveeery firmware and they are the best for smoothness and baterry life ... you wont' face any problem at aal, the only thing you'l have to do after is to set he APN manualy for 3G Connection and MMS, that's all, otherwise everything else is the same.
https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-s--neo/GT-I9301I/DBT/download/I9301IXCUAPH1/94318/
https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-s--neo/GT-I9301I/ITV/download/I9301IXCUAPH1/94320/
or you can go with a custom rom to update it with the latest firmware, Project Lucky S7 Style ROM is AMAZING and its very fast and smooth even better than a stock ROM. think abt giving it a try befor flashin the new stock rom

Good luck bro
Hi all, today I gave a look on sammobile and it appears that S3 neo ITV got an update to 2016 august security patches. This happened a year ago for ITV model. Even though I can't find the firmware I am running on sammobile, kies says that my S3 neo (June security patches) is ITV but I DON'T get the update in settings nor kies nor smartswitch. Is it ok to flash the latest firmware with Odin? It shouldn't erase all data anyway right?
Thanks if anyone answer this old thread (lol but still keen on my s3 neo)
Edit: and did anyone get august security patches?
