[Q] galaxy tab stuck on boot screen, help appreciated - Galaxy Tab 10.1 General

I've been given a Galaxy Tab 10.1 for free. All I have to do is make it work again. It keeps trying to boot, but just is caught in a loop, it keeps showing the Samsung boot up screen, first showing the tab 10.1 screen, then playing the sound, how do I reset it so it will work again? help appreciated.

The first question is, do you know what model of Galaxy Tab 10.1 it is?

It's very hard to read, but on the back I think it says: GT-P7510MA. I do know that it is the wi-fi only model.

Whatever you do, *only* use files for GT-P7510 models. You can look up the GT-P7510MA and see if it is supposed to do more than WiFi.
In any case, can you get into recovery? Does adb work?

If it boots up like that, I think odining back to stock would almost certainly allow it to function properly again.

I now have a screen that says, "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue, Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again. Kies can't see the device, but Odin can. What file do I use in Odin to go back to stock, and where can I find it?
Thanks

Think I've made progress, found the firmware on sammobile.com, and was able to get into download mode, and install the firmware, fingers crossed, using odin. We'll see what happens. Thanks for the help.

{HELP!!} Theme Bricked my Wifi Only Tab

Hello, a theme ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1328950 ) did brick my device, am using Task650 version 10 ROM WiFi only model 16GB, i installed the "Layers In Paris V3 theme zip file over his rom and now my device get passed the the booth animation, i wiped/reset factory setting, wiped dalvick, cache, and wiped system, it wouldnt get passed it, now i formatted system from recovery and it won't get passed the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 writing you see when you power the Tab on, i need help on what to do because i can't even access the memory to load a ROM zip to reflash it.
someone wrote to me "to set up adb which lets you push files to your tab"
So the question is this too
What is adb ? "to set up adb which lets you push files to your tab" When i went to mount SD card in recovery, the systems keep telling me that "E:unable to open ums file lunfile (No such file or directory) Couldn't open directory," Then what do i do to load new ROM and flash it again or get my tablet working ? Please i need help here
Well you've just learned rule #1 the hard way. Always do a nandroid backup from CMW.
You could restore back to stock using ODIN. All the files you need are in the How To Root thread.

If you can get into download mode, use Odin to flash stock. Thread below with all info how to do that.

Odin restore will return your device (ROM AND RECOVERY) back to stock. Just boot your tab into download mode then connect to your computer with odin running and you will see a yellow box showing your device is connected. If it doesn't detect it, you need to get the correct drivers.

And then from the stock ROM listed in the provided link, you will then flash the CWM/Recovery to be able to flash a ROM you want to run/flash.

Try going into download and Odin flash the stock ROM again.
If the stock ROM flashed correctly, after up to a 10 minute wait, it should boot into the stock ROM. Then you will go into download again, Odin flash either the recovery from that link or the newer recovery from the below link. You should be able to place the Rom of choice on the SD and flash through recovery.

+1. Considering the questions, I think a leappad might make more sense.
Thanks guys, my tablet is back, i really appreciate the help and sorry Admin, i didn't know the right place to put the thread, besides that's the side i visit always, that was why i dropped it there, please for some of us, next time, don't joke about things, no one is perfect. Am so happy, thanks everyone.

CM10 killed my P7510. I'm sad.

After searching hard for a solution, I have come to the conclusion that CM10 fried my tab's kernel memory.
What initially happened was just a random freeze while I was using the tablet, running the CM10 preview build. Keep in mind this was a couple weeks ago or so.
I hard reset the tablet, and it randomly boots into download mode. Okay... nothing weird. Reboot again.
Back into download mode. Inspection reveals the message "Reason: No Kernel" at the top of the command line.
I've been at work all day (thankfully a slow day) and I've tried just about everything from rebooting the tablet into recovery mode - which the device no longer has, either - to Odin, to ADB. A final google search directs me to this thread, where it appears the same thing happened to a non-rooted user and he had his mainboard replaced (assuming for free) due to hardware malfunction.
So I guess I'm just here looking for insight, perhaps closure. Is it really dead? If so, how can I make the best of this? Anything that I can salvage through a teardown? Perhaps a gadget I can build with it?
Any input at all is highly welcomed - even wanted. Please, give your thoughts on my loss of this tablet.
If your able to get into download mode, your tab is not dead. (Hopefully you can still get into download mode)
I had a similar problem recent too. I had to ODIN a couple times to fix whatever my problem was.
Download an ODIN stock ICS version for your device (assuming its US wifi only based off the model number in the title). You can get it here http://www.sammobile.com/.

If you can't flash to a stock ROM with Odin, with the "Re-Partition" option checked (select the correct pit file, get it from samfirmware/flashing tools), it's pretty safe to say it's a hardware fault.

[SOLVED] My Note 10.1 shows a fuzzy/white lined screen when booting up ??? [Video]

I flashed stock firmware via odin, but before I clicked start I left my tablet to charge for a bit. While I was gone my son had been messing with my laptop without my knowledge, but I'm not sure whether he ticked one of the boxes on ODIN or not.
Anyway, I went back later and began the flash. It finished successfully. Then I started up my note 10.1 and the splash screen was showing white lines across the screen instead of the usual "Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1" screen.
Sometime it shows the 'download mode' screen for a few seconds too.
Here is a video showing what happens...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-9gFJBz0THc
How do I get it back to normal and why did this happen? Also, will this effect how my tablet runs in any way?
I've tried flashing the firmware again via ODIN and again via kies, with no luck.

No clue as to why it happened. If you've reloaded the s/w again successfully via Odin and it's still there I'd try a hard reset from recovery. Turn it off and when it restarts hold "power/volume up" and select "wipe data/factory reset" as shown below. It might just be a coincidental h/w issue that popped up. But the fact "download mode" appears occasionally makes that improbable. You can always send it in for repair claiming ignorance. If you've only used Odin to flash stock s/w for your device's model (EG: N8010>N8010) Samsung will be none the wiser.

The strange things are that when the download mode shows at the beginning of a boot, it's always just a kind of screen shot from when I last went into download mode. Plus everything is working perfectly fine, the system runs as it usually would, same speed, etc. I can still root, flash a recovery, flash custom ROMS, etc.
I've already tried what you said, numerous times. I've flashed a few times too, completely erasing system, data and cache before flashing. I'm currently using a custom ROM and everything is working perfectly fine. The boot issue is the only thing wrong with the tablet. Surely there's a way to change it? Like flashing a boot animations?
I thought maybe it's soft bricked? I read somewhere that flashing the PIT would fix the issue I'm having, but i can't find the N8010 PIT file anywhere

I had no clue I should be using a certain version of Odin, I assumed latest version was best version to use.
Does this mean there's nothing I can do?
I've also noticed that after flashing stock firmware via Odin, the phone stays stuck on the bootloader, unless I do a factory reset in recovery.
I guess for now there is nothing I can do. Nobody seems to know what the problem is.

I don't know exactly what did it, but I flashed the new N8010 4.1.2 firmware via Mobile Odin, and it was as good as new

Thanks for the quick replies guys. I dunno what I did but somehow its working again. Pulled out the battery and still the screen with Samsung Galaxy S4 and recovery booting showing on the screen. Pressed the power off + volume down + home screen button and was somehow able to restart the phone which seems to be working fine now.
The problem is I dont know what happened there? And if its safe to go ahead and update the samsung software or not?
Any clue? Any advice is appreciated.
Sounds like a typical update fail to me. It will most likely do the same thing if you try again.

I'm not sure but usually you can go back between versions, LP to LP, MM to MM. You just must try, you won't damage your phone, Odin will just print a Fail Message. Be sure to have latest one, as you may get a soft brick.

I had the same problem (stuck on the Samsung screen). I tried reflashing, but that didn't work. What ROM were you coming from? I'm trying to "downgrade" from CM 7, since I'd like to be able to access the sensors and SMS not working doesn't seem like much of an upgrade.

I had the same problem, 3 things I did to fix this:
1. Take out external SD card, the Android directory on it will cause bootloop
2. Before Odin the new firmware, boot into recovery to do a factory reset and wipe everything including internal SD card
3. power off phone, then reboot to recovery using power-vol down-home
The bottom line is to keep your phone in factory-new mode before Odin the new firmware
