I could use a bit of help. It seems that the microphone in my mytouch doesn't want to work during phone calls anymore. It still works using the voice recorder and using the google voice search functions. I am not sure why it no longer works for phone calls. Bluetooth and wired mic still work tho.
I am running CM7.2 stable with stock radio.
I tried an ICS rom and flashed an audio libs fix, but when I reverted back to CM7, I wiped everything and formatted system. Any help would be much appreciated.
Hmm, you could flash the low mic fix. It's in 0.0's github which is linked in his sig. Check any of his many posts.

I Just bought a very nice looking HTC mytouch 4g a few weeks ago, and has been sitting until today. Put the myfamily mobile sim card in it i can call out and receive calls, but nobody can hear me at all. The mic appears to be dead. If you find a fix, please advise. Thanks.

My mytouch is S=off. The audio works for video recording. I am curious as to why it doesn't work during calls. Again, any help is much appreciated.
Not rooted yet. That was the plan until I realized the mic was dead

If you want to do a teardown, you could possibly replace the mic yourself. Just need some heat gun soldering skills and a part number to buy from digikey or another chip seller.
Here is the link to the FCC pics.

Thanks but can you double check the URL? i see it's secure and it tells me im not authorized to view the page.
in another post in here i did see the screenshots, but still not sure which part is the mic. I can solder so if there's a replacement, i'd give it a go.

This site has the link to the fcc page.
http://www.phonescoop.com/phones/phone.php?p=2993
Just need to search in there for a pdf of the internal images. The mic has to be removed using a heat gun as there are not solder pads on the back of the circuit board. I am curious if there are any markings on the mic itself, so I could look for another one from digikey or somewhere. The pictures from the fcc filing aren't too detailed on the mic itself. You can see it under the black thing in there. Looks like a small rectangular chip with one hole in it.
Mic works on Stock ROM but, Not on custom ROM
I was running CM7, CM9, CM10 and a few other ROMs. My mic would not work during calls or video/voice recording. I thought somehow the mic died. Then, I decided to flash back to stock and the mic is working again. Anyone have any idea what may cause this and also, what I may do to get it to work with a custom ROM?

co-sign i know maybe 3 of the top of my head and they use qik lol
Please post questions in Q&A section.
@cdw9800
when you said co-sign i immediately thought of the Calculus homework i have. Thanks for unconsciously reminding me of things lol
qik isn't working for me, bummer. is there anything you guys did to make it work or did it just work? mine always shows me to them, but all I see is a rainbow fuzzy screen but I can hear them.. hmm

The front facing camera works, and most apps that detect it are doing it the right way. Tango does not detect it when using CM6, they are probably not doing it using the official APIs, OR they are doing some kind of device/firmware check.
I sent them an email, either way is completely wrong.

Has anyone looked at the audio routing bugs plaguing DK17+ kernels? I find it hard to believe there is no interest in getting these bugs fixed. There's two major bugs (I have experienced) related to this issue: having to toggle the speaker inside a phone call in order to get sound in/out, and; all sounds coming out through earpiece after stopped use of a bluetooth headset.

seriously ???
his post says "DK17+" meaning everything since DK17.. up to and including EB13.. the current build has been plagued with this crap too.
EDIT: I'm no developer, but I recognize Forcystos as a great dev.. I'd be happy to dig into some code if you can point me in the right direction.

Which ROM are you running? More info on your set up? I am running MikG and under Sound Settings there is an option called "Flip for Speaker" which allows "your phone to activate the speaker during calls."
i guess your talking to me thats cool. found that link just incase you wanted to take a look at it.

Defensive much?
He told you how to fix it.
I guess I can't blame you, the attitude of some around here when you ask a question can make you defensive.
I don't think it will work on the atrix. I am at work so i cannot download through the firewall.

If no one tries before the evening i will do it myself and post back
it's small enough, i downloaded it over the phone itself. it installs fine and detects the headphones but shows a dialog "is being launched, please wait" and never stops. i tried pressing back and the dialog stopped, but no sound.

even if our phone has the chip necessary, there is no antenna for it, so it wouldn't work (well at least) anyway .

there was a discussion going on about FM radio in atrix.. it concluded that though the chip supports FM transmission and receiving there is no hardware connection made by motorola to be connected anywhere because of which it can't work..
even if its found that the connection is there.. it needs support from kernel .. so a dev can look at this..
a dev posted that he will only look at supporting FM functionality in kernel when he is sure about the hardware connection available in the chip.. so he was asking about the chip level layout.. i think nobody has that layout info yet..

unless they designed the headphone port with that in mind, it will not work that way. you have to have a physical connection between the transceiver and the port which i am pretty sure they did not do (otherwise we'd have the functionality out of the box)

Nexus one fm radio works using the headphones as an antenna even though FM radio support has never been official. So perhaps even though the function isn't available out of the box it could still be connected. I also believe that the Motorola cliq received an unofficial FM radio, but I could be wrong about it.

No, he was saying that the N1 FM app works by using the headphones as an antenna, so it may work in a similar way on the Atrix.
The FM Radio Works Fine, i can hear and all...
Im on the Droid 3 and im not having a issue, it may be the apk, try this one...
Well it wont let me drop the link... just search FMRADIO.APK

You realize you're in the Atrix forums, right?
Seems that Video is broken in Google Talk on this rom. When ever I try to video call some one, the screen goes black like its about to start video and then goes back to the contact list. Tried reinstalling Google Talk, this hasn't helped.
Also, Skype video calls, no one can hear me unless I plug some headphones in or don't use video.
BUMPY. Kinda need a solution or an answer soon if possible please
me too please.
Id like one too. never have been able to video call on my atrix got it the day it came out and had like 10 diffferent roms on it. Now on Superosr
