I do not know if everyone already knows about this news, I just read it this morning and thought that as XDA already fixed all the problems related to the kernel (camera, WiFi, etc.) and as Sense 4.1 and Android 4.1 are not mayor updates , It will be relatively easy to make a custom ROM with all the updates, bug fixes and google now integrated.
I attached one of the links of the news:
(I quote from the link) "Android 4.1 is not a major update, but it Greatly Increases the smoothness of the operating system and includes access to Google Now"
http://www.pcworld.com/article/259568/android_41_jelly_bean_heads_to_htc_one_an_update_roundup.html
Sense 4.1 and Android 4.1 are two totally different things.
While yes, Sense 4.1 IS smoother, it is not Android 4.1 jelly bean. Devs will work to bring Sense 4.1 over.
I think Team Blackout are already on it!!

[OFFICIAL]Samsung rolls out Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update for the Galaxy S II GT-I9100
Samsung has just started to push Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update to the International Samsung Galaxy S II GT-I9100. The Galaxy S II is the best-selling Android device of 2011 and has a very large user base that’s why Samsung keeps on updating this device with all the new Android versions as they want to provide the Galaxy S II users with their best support experience.
You might not be able to update your device to Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean right away as the update is rolling out in phases. So, it might not yet be available for your country or network provider (If Your device is Carrier branded) but don’t worry the update will arrive soon.
In the history of software updates, the new Jelly Bean update by Samsung to the Galaxy S II is by far the most major update given to a smartphone yet. As we all know Samsung’s ICS update didn’t had any UI changes and had exactly the same UI which was in its Gingerbread but this is not the case with Samsung’s Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update. The new jelly bean update breathes a new life into the Galaxy S II, Samsung has completely ditched the old UI and has given the new Nature UX Interface, which is the same as the one being used in the Galaxy S III Mini and the Galaxy S III, in its latest Jelly Bean update.
Some of the Enhancements in the new Jelly Bean Update:
- Buttery Smooth Performance & Great Stability (Thanks to Project Butter)
- Full User Interface Revamp (Same UI as of the Galaxy S III and Galaxy Note II)
- TouchWiz Nature UX
- Samsung’s S Cloud services
- Improved Camera features
- New Lockscreen With Many Customization Options
- New Features like Direct Call, Smart Stay and Pop-up Play
- New Widgets (From Galaxy S III)
- 2 Home screen modes
- New Notification bar With More Notification Toggles
- Google Now

Major props to Samsung for bringing the GSII up to date and not just abandoning it. I was expecting something like this with the GSII+ launch, but not quickly.
Already a thread on it. Why create duplicate thread?

Hi there helpful bunch out there its me with maybe and somehow a boring question for most of you but for me much guidance is needed. Here is what I have and then what I would like to accomplish.
I bought originally a packerd bell liberty tab g100 with stock android 3.something installed. As soon as Acer came with the ICS upgrade for the iconia a500, which is the same tab as you all ofc know, I installed that update with a very simple guide. Now year(s) later, and yes this brick isn't the best around but can't afford anything else so first would like a fresh install and second a upgrade while at it.
Now, I looked much on XDA and found a lot of text that made my head hurt and which I bravely tried to follow that guide but somehow it didn't work.
So now I have android 4.0.1 rooted and I would like to go to android 5 if that's even possible ofc.
Hope you smart people can help me to overcome this hurdle. Tnx
Hi,
I couldn't put this on the ROMs forum so I put it here instead. I have been looking endlessly for weeks for a custom rom for the sm-t357t (t-mobile) (RR, Lineage, etc.) with no avail. It is really annoying bc the standard tab a gets nougat and this one is stuck on lollipop. I would build one myself, except I have low end hardware and am a noob when it comes to building ROMs. I am rooted with twrp and would be grateful for any guidance or ROMs.
Thanks
I too would like an update for this particular T-mobile tablet. I need 6.0 or better for Google Family Link.
Same here- Looking for a Galaxy Tab A (SM-T357T) ROM. Android 6 or preferably 7.
bump
With no official release of MM/N, I highly doubt a custom rom.
I have this tablet too. I know the sm-t355 is basicly the same tablet and I believe it got updated. Why can we not get this flashed our device. Im not sure.
