Long-time reader, first-time poster. And I think I just did something (maybe two somethings) galactically stupid...
Like a dozen times before, I rebooted my DroidX into recovery in preparation for (re)installing a custom MIUI ROM. Formatted /system, /data, and /cache, wiped Dalvik cache... and then proceeded to reformat my SD card. (WTF??) Stupid #1.
While still in recovery, I tried enabling USB storage from one of the menus, but my Win7 PC would never notice it was there. So I copied the ROM's zip file to the microSD manually by ejecting the card... which means I pulled the battery to get at the card. (Probably) Stupid #2.
So now I have a shell of a DroidX with "nothing" on it, and I don't have the first idea how to get it back to a working state.
When the phone reboots, it gets to the old MIUI boot animation and just sits there. About the only thing I can seemingly do with this phone is get to the bootloader screen (camera/volume down/power on). When I then connect it to my PC via the USB cable, the bootloader screen says "OK to Program. Transfer Mode: USB", but I can't (for example) get adb on my PC to recognize my phone (keep getting "error: device not found").
So am I FUBAR'ed, or is there a way out of my predicament?
Never mind... I actually remembered a way to get out of this myself...
I went back to the original method of rooting .621 ... Most importantly, I followed the steps to get a .604 build onto my phone from the bootloader prompt via a live CD. (I knew I had seen that before... it just took writing it down here to jog my memory...)
Anyway, I am now back to a functioning (and rooted) .621 build on my DX.
nice job dude!

I formated my sd card from recovery-windows and i got a bootloop when i rebooted it.
No more access to recovery-windows, i took off my sd card, bootloop again, i had to go to recovery with red triangle, pull off battery, disconnect from usb and reboot to make it work.
Factory is reset but no more network even with proper settings, and i can't access the recovery windows without having bootloop all over again. I got a mysterious IMEI SV number now too.
Strange things is the drivers are mad in hboot and recovery now , i got something like this.
I don't understand what went wrong, can someone point me in the right direction to make it work?
is your phone rooted?

Yes, with blay0 0.7 currently on it.
So the network came back after one complete day without it. Don't ask me why.
But i have other major issues:
-SD Card slot not recognize, tested with different SD cards, same result.
-Bootloop when i boot my phone, only way to get around it is to plug it in usb, don't ask me why too.
-Weird Drivers still nuts with HTC DIAG, Qualcomm CDMA Technology not recognize.
I didn't know a simple SD card format from recovery can cause so much trouble :'(
Undoubtly the native drivers from Hboot disappeared, and without sd card nor recovery from PC, i don't know how to bring them back.
Can someone help me please, i don't want to lose it :'(
Okay it's a classic USB Brick sorry for the inconvenience.
Ok so for some reason, I went into USB flasher, it did its usual ...USB, I got all the way to 'Flashing partition 1...' and it froze. I waited 10 minutes, nothing happened. So pulled the battery.
Now, I cannot get it to flash anything by USB. It says USB Flasher...USB but I get time out errors on the recovery DAF.exe and the phone does not change. I also get same on the tri-color screen, says USB but times out in the ROM utility to do a task29.
The positive? I somehow am still able to flash a ROM using AD SD (having the recovery on my SD card works but AD Recovery says failed header or something), even know I saw it say Erase: tons of partition info. So im lucky there.
Question? Anyway someone can make me a CWR file to flash a new AD Recovery partition setup? This way, I can change paritions without the need of USB? (still baffled how this is working when ad recovery doesnt...hmm)
Appreciate any help .
I am in need of some help, I recenlty rooted my phone via rEVOlutionary for GB 2.3.3, and now have ClockworkMod Recovery v5.0.2.2, this morning when I tried to do a backup something happened and I was put into a bootloop, i tried wiping the data to see if that helped and of course it didnt, now when i try to boot into recovery and access my Nandroid backups i get the message that says "E:Can't mount /sdcard", Im a noob and have no idea what to do, i have done some research and tried the RUU method but my phone doesnt get recognized by the USB port and i cant complete the RUU method.
I can only access my SD card when i put it into an adapter and view it via my comp, i have reached the end of my rope and really do not want to take my phone to the geek squad as it is s-off and most likely will not be helped as rooting voids warranty, can anyone help me or point me in a direction for a potential fix?
Not sure if this will help but have you tried a different SD card? Maybe the one you're using got corrupted some how or whatever.
If that doesn't help then download this RA-supersonic-v2.3 and place it on the root of your SD card which means don't place it in any folders or anything like that and follow these directions which I pulled from this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=705026
Boot the phone into the bootloader by powering the phone down, then press the power and the volume down buttons at the same time.
Once the phone boots into the bootloader the phone will automatically recognize the zip file. It will ask if you would like to update, select yes and let it do it's thing and you will be good to go
Once you're in that recovery, see if you can mount usb...that's the only thing I can think of....GOOD LUCK dude!!
thanks for that quick reply, i will try it now and see if it works out...
I was able to run the update and open the .zip while in HBoot, and went into recovery but again received the message that reads "E:Can't mount SD Card", when I go to the SD & Phone Storage section of my EVO settings Menu it does not show the total space avaliable for the SD Card...
I have a 2GB SD Card that lying around that i will try out tomorrow...anymore help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks
no luck, the 2GB card didnt work and the 8GB cant be read either, I tried funning the .ZIP but it goes into recovery however i can not run any .ZIP files because the sd card cant mount...
Took it to Best Buy, they are sending me a new one in 3-5 days...now to not repeat this again...
Hi folks,
So, after little usage due to instability caused by the Lollipop upgrade I hadn't used the TN7 in a while. Yesterday I thought I'd have a go at reconditioning it.
Background: The bootloader has been unlocked, recovery was TWRP, I'd flashed and reflashed stock ROMs of KitKat and Lollipop several times previously. The main problem in Lollipop was that whilst the SD card files were showing up fine in FS Explorer, I couldn't see any of my files or folders when looking at local storage. Also, Google Play Services refused to update (or install using an APK).
Yesterday I grabbed the factory ROM from the nVidia site to do a full factory install and reset. I followed the instructions, flashing the recovery, boot, system, userdata, staging blob and dtb in that order. I then rebooted and...nothing. No power (or so it appears), no boot screen, no ability to get back into the bootloader, nada, zilch. When I read back through the flash commands I noticed that the final part of flashing the system image failed, which could well be the cause - I should have paid more attention.
I've searched all over and tried multiple options to get the TN7 to boot or show some signs of life. I don't even get an LED showing when plugged into a wall socket to charge.
The device doesn't show in fastboot or adb on the Mac. I did however get a small sign of life from Windows. If I hold down the power button for around 10 secs and let go, I can hear the Windows chime of a device connecting, immediately followed by a disconnect sound, the Device Manager updates but shows nothing new.
So my question is: have I completely screwed the pooch, or is there something that can be done to resurrect it?
Cheers for reading,
Gray

Hi,
It can be fixed via apx mode.
Download drivers and switch to apx mode.
Follow instructions http://mobileviandroid.blogspot.in/2015/07/nvidia-tegra-note-7-apx-images.html?m=1
Remember to change your device serial number as mentioned in instructions.
I also faced the same problem as you are facing now. It fixed. If you need any help further just post. God bless. Hope it helps

Im an Idiot. I went to twrp recovery and wiped everything, since I wanted to install a higher version of the Samsung tab e, and even when twrp told me that there was no OS installed, I rebooted anyways. I was new to this all thing, and had no idea what exactly that meant and thought, 'What could go wrong?' . . . I just wanted a higher device model, man.
Ugh. Now im stuck in the 'Powered by Android' logo screen, and cant boot into recovery or Download mode.
- What's even worse was that I didn't even enable USB Debugging so Adb is out.
- However, it is Rooted, if that even helps.
- Trying to use the Samsung 300k tool to force enter download mode ends up with 'Write file function failed (error 995)'
- My sibling has the same device model as me, but using T Flash via Odin and my 32GB micro SD card doesn't have a reaction to my device. (Or maybe im doing it wrong, since I don't see anything in the sd card when I plug it to the computer)
- Tablet gets recognized via Odin and Computer, but only as 'MTP USB Device', and in Devices, it is in Unspecified as 'Samsung Android'
- Only good thing that came out of this was the info that I had obtained over the past few days that has shocked my siblings as to why I have this much knowledge over Samsung devices and its functions (AKA I feel cool)
But honestly, at this point I am at a loss of what to do, and will not be surprised if I have to get a USB jig to force it to download mode (my only other option left), or take it to a service center to get it fixed. (the other option I have)
But if there is something you guys are aware of, that I had not tried yet, Please guide me.
Anybody?

The simplest way to get an operating system again is to put the ZIP file on a working MicroSD card and put it in your tablet, Then boot into the boot loader and choose to install the file by choosing the external micro sd card.
If you're stuck on a boot screen or download, get out of it by holding the power key + volume down, until the tablet resets.
Note for the future:
always backup your device to an external MicroSD card before deleting your existing operating system, or installing a new one.
