Is it possible to create a new appointment in google calendar that is linked to an existing contact's address? So the address is automatically in the appointment without manually entering it?
For example, adding a new dr appt, using a contact that has the address, so google navigator (or google now?) can use the address data and navigate to it from where you are prior to the appt?
This seems like something android should be able to do, but i cant figure out how, and haven't found anything when searching for this. What am i missing?

I upgraded from incred 1 to 2 and now when I add contacts to the phone I dont get the option to associate them with my mail account like I used to, with that now they are not stored in my gmail desktop. So if I do anything with this phone or lose it all of my recently added contacts will be gone. How do I fix this??
When you create a contact does it ask you which account? Like for mine is asks gmail, exchange (work account), or phone unsynced.
Also you can check your gmail settings that it is syncing contacts.
In gmail: Hit menu, press accounts, press menu again, press account settings, select your gmail account and make sure sync contacts is checked.

No its not offerig me that option, I used my main G-Email account to set up the phone, I have the contacts checked in sync in that account
Anyone else??/ I hate to go to the VZw store.. as usually I know more then they do
Did you get this fixed. When I add contacts they are automatically add it to my google account. When you say contacts do you mean email or do you mean the persons phone number and name.
How are you trying to add your contacts.

Im trying to add phone #s. In the past I would be prompted to to chose which gmail account I wanted to associate the contact with. Now it just stores it to the phone without offering me the option.
Fixed?? not really, what I have been doing is exporting them to to the sim or SD, then importing them to the google account kind of a pain. thanks for responding.
From what I've noticed on some non sense roms, when I add contacts they are automatically added to my Google account. Maybe HTC took that option out if you dont have multiple account on there. Seems like a stupid option.
"Would you like your contacts to persist thru diifferent rom's/devices or do you want them to be lost everytime you reset your phone (or manually back them up)?"
I use Google to host my email account for business. Since my Eris the contacts have been backing up to my Email account, now with this phone its not so easy.
Are you using sense or aosp?

hi,i've got two android devices (HTC Desire and ACer A500) and i've noticed that the calender events (especially the ones already synced to the account before this bizzare issue) on my google account on both devices can't be edited. Each time I select an event from the calender app or agenda widget, it displays the following:
* The event name, date, time, the account name and reminder (Those are usually there before the said issue).
Then the new details after i noticed this issue are as follows:
* Attendee (which i've never encountered before)
* Attending? (Which is an icon asking if someone will be attending the event or not).
This is very frustrating cos as of yesterday, i was able to edit events on the google account's calender without issue. Though, if i enter new events onto the account, those new ones are allowed to be changed. I've tried everything on both devices as well as signing into my account on my PC in order to trace the problem's origin through the calender settings but to no avail.
All i did before this problem started was edit a few details on my google account such as billing address and method of payment. Could this two result in calendar events disruption? Thanks, your assistance would be really appreciated.
I have the same issue with my Exchange 2007 account. I ended up having to go back to sense on my evo to get that ability back. I will report back if I figure something out.

Hi,
I've been struggling with figuring out how to create a local contact account or database on my Nexus 7.
On my Samsung Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch on Sprint (SPH-D710), I have the typical gmail account and possibly Facebook and maybe even Dropbox accounts.
But there is a local account named 'Phone'.
I'm trying to create or or copy that local account onto my Nexus 7.
The primary reason is that my contacts information ends up being private and not shared with Google or Facebook.
I have failed at figuring out how to do this, if its even possible, which I believe it is possible.
I used an Outlook sync product to keep all my Android devices up to date.
But I cannot use those sync products to create this local Phone account. To make matters worse, I cannot transfer any contact info unless I have entered at least one contact info manually. I guess it needs to see a database that is functioning.
Does anyone know how to create this local contact database where I can name the database as 'Phone'?
Thanks!
Rob

I'm not from the mobile phone generation but have you looked at the free apps that "private contacts" finds on the play store?
I haven't been able to edit my contacts from the phone app and I was wondering if there was a really obvious way to do it and I'm just missing it. Does anyone know how?

Tap on contact => Menu => Edit
AFAIK you can't edit contact imported from FB, Skype, etc., you may add information or edit stuff you put in yourself.
You can also edit them from in your Google account contact page here https://www.google.com/contacts and any change will be synced to your account.
Hi.
Yesterday I've got my Mediapad M3 and it seems to work smoothly.
But one bug is annoying. Recurring calendar entries are multiplied in calendar. It happens on google calendar and on caldav calendars.
It's independent from calendar app. I did factory resets and installed minimum applications to simulate this.
I'm on Stock ROM Emui 4, no root.
Stephan
I had this happen with a Kindle. It turned out that it was making entries under a different title So I had my normal google account and then it was adding another sub account/heading/calendar title. I made sure that my account was the default and everything was fixed. That may be your problem.

Hmm.
I have access to my wifes calendar. It is shared for me. How and where do I set default account?
All other devices are working: Nexus 9, Galaxy S7 Edge.
The next time you make an entry make sure to check what calendar it is using this is found right under where you enter the title of the entry. Mine says "Events" with my email address in parenthesis right behind it. If you tap that it will give you choices as to what calendar you want to use. Then the next time you make an entry that will be the calendar it uses. At least in my experience.

It seems as if recurring calendar entries are duplicated when they are synced. I did not create any new entry ?

Was there any resolution of this? I have exactly the same on my media pad. It is only local to this device, on a laptop and 2 other devices everything appears normal. Every Sync doubles the entries, so it can get up to 100 or more (I have not counted).
It is occurring on a shared calendar, not the one that is registered to me.
Got my M3 today and it's the same on mine.

At least for me the answer was to delete (on a PC) all the shared entries that were being duplicated, then recreate them. I do not know exactly what the source is, but I am pretty sure that it is some change in the Google Calendar software which made some old-type entries incompatible with the Huawei, and it appears also some other systems/OS.
Huawei M3 Lite 8 has problems with syncing my calendar recurring entries. I found that only app which works like a dream is old ISCSync. No double entries anymore.
